Subject: [U21] Senegal
- 1
Major part of the scouting is done so we may start the discussion about the upcoming match against Senegal quite early. Let me first introduce few players of our opponent. Their best players are probably Dia, Diallo and their striker M`Bengue.
There is also one player on the transfer list (who played yesterday) so let's take a look:
Matar Cissé, Age:20
club: Reyno de Navarra, country: Sénégal
Value: 214 750 $, Wage: 1 950 $
superdivine Form, very good Tactical discipline
height: 184
solid stamina, tragic keeper
excellent pace, good defender
solid technique, solid playmaker
very good passing, weak striker

I think you should play more balanced strikers in this match... :) As it wont take a whole lot of pace or tech to get past the def..... so in with someone who can finish... :)
How did it go with the scouting of new strikers?? :)

Unfortunately those two strikers I was talking about yesterday are quite useless :-( Laulund looks like this:
[11] świetna kondycja [0] tragiczny bramkarz
[6] dostateczna szybkość [3] mierny obrońca
[5] przeciętna technika [8] solidny rozgrywający
[10] celujące podania [15] magiczny strzelec
Whereas Stål is a great player that has unfortunately horrible technique... So probably Linnet might well be the best one we have now.
As I was going through the database, there were many quite promising players (updated about 6 months ago). Unfortunately the vast majority has either ended their career or they got ruined :-(

Another player of Senegal - one of their very best defenders:
Mahmoud Diallo, age: 21
club: FC Rentiéři Oderberg, country: Sénégal,
value: 580 000 $, wage: 6 525 $,
brilliant [14] form, ouststanding [12] tactical discipline,
height: 192 cm, weight: 85.2305 kg
adequate [6] stamina tragic [0] keeper
outstanding [12] pace magical [15] defender
adequate [6] technique solid [8] playmaker
weak [4] passing average [5] striker
Should be just before the pop in pace... Not bad after all...

Good news! None of the key players have got injured this week. So there is just Villadsen whose injury will prevent him from playing tomorrow (and unfortunately this injury causes us some problems as it is our best striker)
This time we will be playing most likely a 442 (which is more likely) or 451. I am intending to use a winger (even though he will not be probably sweeping the line - I am intending to use him to widen the play a bit :-))
If you have any ideas, feel free to introduce them :-)
Thanks!

Huh, a preparation in the very last minute :-) I've changed my mind during my afternoon walk and I hope that this change will turn out to be good!
We will be using two wingers - one of them will be standing usually quite close to the line (Fjordbak/Hørby), the second one will stretch to the side just to exploit the open space (Uhrenholt).
One curious thing will be visible in the choice of defensive midfielder - it won't be a true midfielder. It will be one of our great defenders which should stop the attacks even before they become dangerous (Kohl)
My key concern touches the stamina of our players - most of the players in the midfield has around average stamina and I don't have suitable players. I've decided to make two substitutions - one in attack and one of our winger (I find these positions the most crucial ones)
Here is the complete lineup:
1. Karl Emil Lindner GK
2. Sten Stålem DEF
3. Jesus Bak DEF
4. Napoleon van der Maase DEF
5. Anders Skjold DEF
6. Jonas Kohl DEF
7. Bjørn Bordinggaard MID
8. Vagn Hoff MID
9. Ben Uhrenholt MID
10. Svend Fjordbak MID
11. Ken Grønvald Jelstrup ATT
12. Abdalla Østerberg GK
13. Roland Alf DEF
14. Joakim Michelsen MID
15. Silas Hørby MID
16. Jokum Linnet ATT
Set pieces
Free kick: not specified
Penalty kick: Ken Grønvald Jelstrup
Conditional orders
1' red card or no player Jonas Kohl on position 2
1' red card or no player Jonas Kohl on position 3
1' red card or no player Jonas Kohl on position 4
1' red card or no player Jonas Kohl on position 5
46' always Jokum Linnet on position 11
60' always Silas Hørby on position 10
Keep your fingers crossed :-)

Well, it's hard to write some words after such a match. Our opponent got two chances (one after a lucky long pass and the second one was after a mistake of a defender) and they scored one goal. We were almost constantly hanging around the goal of our opponent - but we lacked always something. Sometimes it was deadly inaccurate pass, sometimes the goal was just to small for our striker...
I think that the tactic I have chosen was quite decent. The players were getting in a great positions and our opponent was completely hopeless. As for the lineup - I believe I have chosen the best possible players for every position (even that risky move with Kohl as a defensive midfielder turned out to be quite good in my opinion). I've noticed that sometimes (especially in the first half) our striker was standing a bit too low (or too high) - but I would say it was mainly due to his low team discipline.
I would be happy if you help me resolve what was that wrong yesterday that we have lost. I am a bit clueless :-(
So all in all: Senegal U21 - Denmark U21 1:0

Its hard without strikers...... up on the saddle again m8... :)
Saw small part of this match, But in my opinion,
Playing with wingers at the U21 is useless (unless you have Mega start in this position which we don't.........), Playing with 2 wingers is pure suicide :(

Problem is not in 2 wings but in att. If att could not score, you can not win match and had 6 chances for scoring.
Well, in the past I was thinking the same... However after my analysis of Senegal, I have come up with a conclusion that using two wingers (even though just one winger was a true one) will stretches the play to the sides and we will have great control over possession - which seemed to me like quite a safe way to play against an opponent like Senegal. The first part has proven to be quite right - we were controlling the game both possession-wise and also in terms of play in half, we were creating quite a lot of chances that unfortunately ended by an inaccurate pass or failure of our striker. About that safety - well losing 0:1 isn't just what I've expected...
The second reason why I almost had to use winger is the fact, that the strikers are so weak that I think it will be quite risky to make them create the chances on their own (and I am afraid we will be even less successful in creating the chances then we were while using the winger). I know that the wingers do not have enough quality to pass well - on the other hand they are still great weapon as they aren't often well covered - which causes together with weak wingbacks of Senegal that there will be almost a highway to dangerous situations.
Currently I am working on a huge overview of players in each of our generations. So stay tuned :-)
