Directly from Italy, now also here in Hellas Sokker an initiative that we are sure you will enjoy it and will involve you ... the "rubric of the best youth player of the week."

The Staff NT/U21 will select each week the best 3 new players pulled from the youth school and posted in the apposite thread. These 3 players will be published in a poll to determine the best weekly pull. The winners of each week will compete at the end of the season for the election of the "Best Youth Greek Player" (BYGP) of the entire season.

The purpose of this initiative is twofold: 1) to involve the entire community about the fascinating world of youth, also discussing about market and training and 2) support the growth of the national U21/NT with the weekly integration of new young talent.

Το Staff NT/U21 θα διαλέγει κάθε εβδομάδα τους 3 καλύτερους νέους που βγήκαν από την ακαδημία και «ανέβηκαν» στο σχετικό νήμα του φόρουμ. Αυτοί οι 3 παίκτες θα βγαίνουν σε ψηφοφορία για να αποφασίζεται το καλύτερο pull της εβδομάδας. Οι νικητές κάθε εβδομάδας θα συναγωνίζονται στο τέλος της περιόδου για την εκλογή του "Καλύτερος Νέος Έλληνας Παίκτης" (ΚΝΕΠ) όλης της περιόδου.

Ο σκοπός της πρωτοβουλίας αυτής είναι διπλός: 1) Να ασχοληθεί ενεργά όλη η κοινότητα με τον συναρπαστικό κόσμο των νέων παικτών και, παράλληλα, να σχολιάζεται η αγορά μεταγραφών και η προπόνηση αυτών 2) Υποστήριξη και βελτίωση της Εθνικής U21/NT μέσω της εβδομαδιαίας ενσωμάτωσης νέων ταλέντων στο μικροσκόπιο.

I hope that this first poll will encourage greek users to publish their own weekly pulls in Sokker Hellas... in this case we'll probably be able to have 3 interesting player for a weekly poll.

From this first big poll (first 8 weeks) we can extract the first 4 players... than 1 from each of the next weekly poll, than the final one for the election of the best of the season!

What do you think about?

Some things to take care of: 1) when does the first poll end? 2) Every week we need a new poll-thread or we simply continue the one that is open now and change the title? 3) Which days do we use as deadlines? -- Thursday is the first day the pulls come out and till Wednesday is one weekly poll, right? 4) I will choose the pulls for week 8 and 9 but also need Davor, Purple, others maybe to filter- add/remove players if necessary. 1) when does the first poll end?

It depends if we'll continue with a poll each week, or 2 weeks or more... I don't know how many interesting players usually you see in the greek forum.

My idea is that we could close this first poll on Tuesday 23/09 h23:00 and elect the best 3 or 4 players for weeks 0 to 7 (quorum of minimum 3 votes). Than on Wednesday open the poll only for week 8 (players coming from last 18/09) giving the time to users to publish new pull of week 9... I'm able to explain that? We have to give users the time, around a week, to publish their pulls... so poll have at around 1 week of delay.

But we could do a poll each 2 week, or more... you have to evaluate that.

In my opinion the best solution is 1 thread each poll... so discussion inside is always related to the poll actually visible. But is anyway possible to rewrite thread title and poll options. Probably is better to involve again moderators on this decision.

Yes... the first selection is yours. Maybe if we have a poll of 3, you can select and post here your first 4-5 players... and than purple, me or other staff members discuss on the final selection with you. Thank you too... you're doing a great job.

yes... poll willl be still alive (is a technical issue of the forum, I can't stop it), but we'll take the results at the closing date and post them in the forum.

Yes... we've to motivate users who have a junior team to post always their pulls in the thread in Sokker Hellas, but also try to motivate the users who haven't a junior team to open the school!

It's needed a minimum of 20-30k€ each week to have a sufficient school: a trainer 10 or 12 (10-15k€) and from 10 to 15 positions (other 10-15k€)... always eliminating players that exit older than 19.

Absolutely, mate... I made a similar discussion in Italy about that. Too much people speak about junior school as not economically convenient... but sokker is a game, and junior is a big part of the game. Take the example of Suomi... wins NT World Cup (with an italian manager :D) and now in the U21 final... they have only 172 users.

But I made a very fast calculation:
- Suomi 172 users, 73 teams in the junior leagues --> 42%
- Hellas 329 users, 92 teams in the junior leagues --> 28%

This is an indication of motivation in junior school... after that there's for sure a great training and market supervision by their community... but on this we're are working, mate ;)

We have 1-2 players from week 07. We can have one poll for 07 and 08. If you can, change the title of the poll to week 00-06, it´s typical, not really important.

From week 09 and on we´ll try to have 1 voting a week, it will keep us motivated.
