Sumanna approaches the ball. Sumanna centers. Panji just manages to reach the ball first. Panji takes a swing and hits it... White desperately tries to grasp hold of the ball. The ball hits the post. Deacon ineptly catches the ball. Panji approaches the ball. Panji shoots. The ball hits the post.
At the moment, the team is in such a position that we don't even have that little bit of luck on our side. At the end of the match, of course, the opponent scored undeserved goals again, in which they were lucky.
Anyway, that's it for now, hopefully in 2 seasons we'll have a stronger team again, which will have a chance against opponents as strong as New Zealand.

This is definitely our biggest ever win. Thanks Attila for not quitting on us even though we have such a horrible team at present. Things will only get better from here.

The value of this wonderful success is perfectly demonstrated by the fact that, according to the evaluations, none of our players come close to the skills of the Polish players. If we look at the two national teams based on individual value, it can be seen that the value (expressed in money) of the Polish players is almost double the value of the Indian players. This is true even for the Polish substitutes!

It took several miracles for this success. Above all, Chandramouli's flawless performance was needed. He also saved 2 penalties and didn't make a single mistake. Let's quickly add: our defenders barely let the Polish forwards free, so they could not create a big scoring chance except for the 2 penalties.
The success also required Panji, who - as you can see above - only has a brilliant goal scoring skill (14) - to score his only 1 goal chance. I used a small trick: the striker Panji played in MID order, with which I tried to strengthen/help our midfielders a little. I thought that if Panji gets the ball up front, he should either find Saripella with a pass or give the ball back to Nitu. I felt this worked well. However, interestingly, Panji received such a sensational long pass from Suersh that he made a good decision to break into the goal with the ball and this decision led to the goal.
Success also required - and this is a bit of a criticism of the Polish tactics - that Poland played against us with 5 defenders. I'll be honest: in the place of the Polish captain, I would have put 1 more player next to the 2 attackers (or directly behind them). But that should be the problem of the Polish captain :) It seemed that they looked down on us, they thought that the victory would be easy, they would score more goals and their 5 defenders would completely prevent our attacks. If we look at the match again, it can be seen that IF we had even 1 really strong striker for the 9 position, we would have had more scoring opportunities. But unfortunately, only the 36-year-old Saripella was in a condition to play at position 9 (Neither Sundaramoorthy nor L. Subbarayan were healthy).
I did what could be achieved with tactics to compensate for the huge superiority of the Polish national team. Our defense tactics worked almost perfectly. Of course, I saw minor mistakes in it, maybe there was a lot of free space between post 7 (Sumanna) and the defenders, this could still be improved.
Anyway, these are the days of celebration :)
And next week there will be another task, where an opponent with a completely different strength (Costa Rica) will come and after yesterday's success, we can now perhaps hope that we will manage to score a point or points in that match as well.

Yes Chandramouli, Panji & Suresh were definitely the stars of the match.
I too think Poland was too defensive. I would have played a 4-1-3-2 formation if I was in charge of Poland.
It's important we follow up this win with a good result against Costa Rica. Poland definitely underestimated us.
