To keep track of the good USA defenders
2010-04-07 17:51:53
I can keep this updated if people will post their stats.

I'm thinking ages 16-24(by this age, if trained properly should be in the main NT already with luck)
2010-04-07 18:02:06
yep.
2010-04-07 18:09:12
i will not post any skills, but only a skill sum, just to keep the player hidden
2010-04-07 18:44:28
That was my intent.

Put it like such player = 70 points

with

Def x1.5
Pace x1.5
Pass x1
PM x1
Tech x1

etc
2010-04-07 19:06:20
what about keep it simple and just do x1 per skill. If you put him in the Def thread, you know that he's a DEF already....
2010-04-07 19:53:40
I guess that could work.

Def
Pace
Tech
PM
Passing(to a lesser extent unless he's playing DEFMID
2010-04-07 20:06:20
The ratio doesn't work. I mean, as a defender trainer, do you train your players to fit that model?
2010-04-07 22:04:24
No, I train like I tried to suggest in the first place...

I work off a rotating 3 season plan. Then I try to get younger players(17-18) and run them through 2 cycles of that before selling.

1 season of DEF
1 of Pace
1 of Tech/PM(to round them out)
2010-04-07 23:13:42
so let's work on the ratio, and see what you guys like better
2010-04-07 23:20:47
I think I was misunderstood.

I like your suggestion Dio, just skill sum.

I don't like the 1.5 x pace and defending, 1 x tech, pm and passing.
2010-04-07 23:26:56
That works better I think as well since current striker/wingers are just the basic skill sum.
I'm just trying to base it off the current setups in the NTDB and the Best Of threads.

So that poses my question then, count every skill? Or focus on Def, Pace, Tech, PM
2010-04-07 23:43:48
I don't like the best of thread, but that is a topic for another thread.

I would include passing, I think it would be just fine if you added it all up expect stamina and keeper.

I hope the real purpose is to try to get the top pulls trained for the National team. If there skill set fits the U21 team too thats great.

I think some users will be surprised how fast the 16-17 year olds train. The Majority of the top U21 players is made of these types of pulls. Not the 18-19 year old Brilliant/magical pulls.
