Congrats, I didn't have much hope for this match since I almost never play with one striker, but I wanted to see if it can work or not. The striker movements were okay so if I correct the mistakes (being your winger had too much space, my winger had a bad positioning during kick-offs and some throw-ins could have been better too), I think it has a future :P

De Moerlooze getting past Jakobson from the front was a bit... interesting to see though. I wonder if Alonen could have been stopped him, but I guessed your attacking side wrong.

I thought that without Riitsik you will play 532 without wingers :)

Generally I was going to make a new tactic, but well...I was back home at 5 am, opened tactic editor...and I've fallen asleep. Fortunately I woke up before the game and made some modifications...for example in the beginning Tamkivi would've had wide space all around him, but I moved side defs to the centre.

And yeah, Moerloose dribbling from front...weird
No, kes kandideerivad see hooaeg?

*vilpu, võida see mm ära siis mine NZ juurde tagasi...
Et siis kandideerin sel hooajal Eestis? Hmm..ei.

Uus-meremaaga siiski MM-ile, kuigi ega seal praeguse meeskonnaga imesid korda saada. Algav hooaeg jääb seal ka viimaseks. Siis vaatame, kus edasi proovin.

Spain

We're coming to the last match of the so called Top Teams Tournament. Currently Spain is leading and we are unfortunately occupying the last position, so we are the underdogs of this match. There were 7 clashes between the two national teams, Spain counts 4 wins, Eesti counts 2, and the last remianing match was obviously a draw. Another statistic which seems to help our opponent. And finally, their players have some crazy awesome form while lots of key players suffer from low form at our side.
However during the TTT, we had two clearly unlucky matches (Nederland and Romania), one slightly unlucky (Belgium) and one neutral (Poland). Yes, the one missing is the lucky one and yes, I hope for a lucky match this time :]

This is going to be the last totally serious match before the World Cup (if I get re-elected), and in order to play with the best possible team (except Miller) I made several changes to the squad. There is a chance that the new match engine will be implemented tomorrow, so I'm trying to make a tactic and a line-up which might work with both MEs. Spain will miss its best striker, Daudé, due to a suspension, we will obviously miss Ritsik, hopefully a missing striker hurts more than a missing winger :]

Let's hope for a good ending to this horrible tournament even if it will give the tournament win to Poland :)

It's probably been quite obvious (you do google translate the text in Estonian which could possibly interest you?) that along with several other people, I also prefer an Estonian coach (a Finnish could also do perhaps :]). This isn't anything personal and I hope you're not in any way affected by the negativity. You were the best choice last elections and no doubt you're going to continue now so you should know most here still back you and hope for a successful WC.

Feedback.. You won't be getting much. :) You should continue with the analysis, though, there still are interested people.

Now about yesterday's game against Spain. I usually like your tactics in general but there were a few things.. I sure haven't checked all the Spanish tactics but they probably haven't played that high 100% so why put the attackers so low? Especially if you also use a winger. If up against the USA and Phil_Fox85, then absolutely, then it's a must but otherwise it's rather risky, no? And the other thing, why not put the defensive line one step higher in the last squares? Keeps the line moving, thus induces more offsides while also adds pressure.

Anyway, big sides have all been shaky which means it's a golden chance. Expectations are high so results should be improved. Good luck!

Yep, I'm aware that most of the people would rather want a domestic NT-coach, it's the same in Hungary. Many would oppose if a foreigner could win the election. However, I'm happy that apart from a few comments your community is willing to co-operate, I'm not sure if that would be the same in Hungary too.

Thanks for your comments about the last match, you're 100% right about the strikers, they were playing too deep indeed, so a lot of times they confronted the defenders from the front.
On the defense part, I think the movements were not the real problem, we made them have a lot of offsides and their scary midfield wasn't that great either (which was my main aim with the offside-trap). One the other hand the central defense looked a bit shaky, since it was looser than usual. I was expecting Fernandez Bonillo to play as a winger, since he turned out to be short, and I didn't want him to get as much free space as the Belgian winger had last week, therefore I stretched out the defense a bit. Unfortunately the offside-trap weared them down and the Spanish substitute-striker took advantage of that. A defender-substitution would have been sufficient for sure.

In general I felt we should have won this match despite these two things and I'll surely go over on these 5 matches we played in this tournament once again to note every good and bad moves in order to prepare for the World Cup. This week I'm going to try out our U25 squad (+Salmo Sokk and a surprise player) against Magyarország, I think it's going to be an interesting match, since I have a good record against my home country, two draws from the time when I was coaching a much weaker NT, Nippon :)
