Hi guys, here we are to present to the community our partecipation to the international tournament Mini World Cup.

I was thinking that this partecipation would be more funny for who follows and loves our national team .) To exceed the elimination round we'll have to work very hard but it'll not be impossible..

Here is the presentation of this competition.

2) New Zealand U21
3) Island U21
4) Pilipinas U21

WEEK 02
Azerbaycan U21 - New Zealand U21
Island U21 - Pilipinas U21

WEEK 03
Azerbaycan U21 - Island U21
New Zealand U21 - Pilipinas U21

WEEK 04

RULES

Mini World Cup is an unofficial cup for U21 teams which didn't qualify for the "big" World Cup

-----------------------------------------
1) If a country arranges a wrong game (not with the country they should play against), then they automatically lose 5-0.

2) Home team sends the invitation to the away team.
If a country does not accept the match invitation before Wednesday 23.59 PM Sokker time, it will automatically lose it's match 5-0. (There could be some situations where NT coach is on holidays and he come back on Thursday or Friday, then there is possiblity that he could accept it later but he MUST inform his opponent and the organiser (Sharoni123). Organiser will make the final decision.)

3) Group stage matches have to be played with league rules, knock-out matches have to be played with cup rules.
In case a knock-out match is not decided (game ends in a draw and is arranged without cup rules), the home team is responsible and will loose the match automatically.

4) The final league standings will be decided according to this:
1. Points
2. Goal difference
3. Goals scored
4. Match against each other
5. Throw a coin by organiser ;)

Have fun guys! Go Pilipinas!

ISLAND FLAG

General info:
The Republic of Iceland (en-us-Iceland.ogg /ˈaɪslənd/ (help·info)) (Icelandic: Ísland or Lýðveldið Ísland (names of Iceland); IPA: [ˈislant]), is an island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean.[2] It has a population of about 320,000 and a total area of 103,000 km².[3] Its capital and largest city is Reykjavík, home to approximately 50% of the national population. Located on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland is volcanically and geologically active on a large scale; this defines the landscape. The interior mainly consists of a plateau characterised by sand fields, mountains and glaciers, while many big glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, Iceland has a temperate climate relative to its latitude and provides a habitable environment and nature.

Pre-match reflections

Another match quite too difficult for us but these matches are important cause they help us to understand better limits of our young players.
Me and the staff have decided by next matches to give more chance to our younger players:this will be important to build the team of the future, cause this group will have to play a new qualification group on the way to next world cup.But now it is too early to speak about this,we have to grow new players and to train better than before, step by step.

Best regards,Barros.

First match of this competition has already finished and i'm not surprised to see the report:0-5 against this Island could be seen like a good result. In these days we have decided to prove the defensive line with 5 players:I never loved to set off the team in a defensive way,but against the strongest team this choice could have been the right thing to do.In the next matches we will certainly try to impose also our game, cause in this game we have limited their strikers but we have never been dangerous before.

Island 5-0 Pilipinas

47.5 average mark 31.8

solid Shooting weak
good Passing weak
good Defending average

i have just one question.

why the following players aren't in the match squad? :

Peter June Baguion, age 21
Jay-R Córdoba, age 21
Magnum Montenegro, age 21

as i remember well, they are the best , and for sure better than Castillo, de los Reyes or Cardona.
i don't ask about Labong, but imo he should play at least one half because of lack of stamina in the team :)
2009-09-12 19:15:52
Thanks for the question,it comes just at the right time because next week I'd have published a post about this in our federation, just to speake about younger players with all of us.

My project is simple and it will be useful for our younger player and generally for the future of national team.We have to think that every 2 years there are qualifications to the world cup:so,IMHO,it's more important to grow the group of player who will partecipate to the next qualifications then some more good result at this moment (even if indonesia and island are good teams,so it was quite impossible for us to do a good result)

Shortly,we have create a list with all players under20 which probably next season will play qualifications:for this i'll ask to Bobbaz if we could have all players under20 and work only with them.
I think that for the future of U21 it's better to promove in Senior Team all twenty-one players, already this season, which next year will be 22 and they will not be able to play with the Under team.

however ther's not much difference between that 3 players and who played last match:in this period i think that is also important to prove all players and some differences formations
2009-09-12 19:36:30
they're young and they're a part of u21 nt, so i think that they should play to improve, just like you said about the other, younger players.

those three are the future of filipino football and they should play just to grow faster and make it into the senior squad.
as for now they are too weak to play in the bobbaz's nt for sure, he has better players.

my request to you is very simple - let them play, make some substitutions during the game, please.
you cannot only think about the future of the u21 nt, just because you're the coach.

if you're the coach and you rly do care about the filipino players, make them better by letting them play ;)
2009-09-12 20:00:25
I agree with almost everything you have written but only one match does'nt matter that they wouldn't play anymore .) One more reason, have played some players that in few seasons will be stronger then the actual twenty-one years, not weak players:however,as i've already written, they'll play again..
..even if for the future of filipino football is also important that the coach of senior team give more chances to younger players, cause the level is too quite low to be competitive and so it could be more important to do play younger player, the only one future of filipino football.
I'm here only to work in better way to grow these players but don't forget that we have 2 team to grow better this nation:i think that is much important to grow younger players that in few years will stronger then the actuals then try to be competitive with some players without future..don't you think like me about this?
2009-09-12 20:04:34
you cannot only think about the future of the u21 nt, just because you're the coach.
:) i think about the future of filipino football, not only for the under otherwise i'd have played with that 21ers. however as i've already written this is only one match and they'll play again,at this moment with me or bobbaz it make little difference

ya, maybe.
but i know the players and some of them are not talented, so i can't see their future in the nt.
it is needless to set young players just because you're thinking of their progress.
you have to look at their skills and at their talent as well, cause it will be a waste of time if they will pop once or twice during the season.

Cordoba, Labong and Montenegro are improving pretty quick and i think there will be places for them in the senior nt.
2009-09-12 20:16:22
we'll speak better about this in federation forum with bobbaz,my staff and other members in the coming days and all data players disponilbe to be more precise possible :)
2009-09-12 20:21:18
yeah, you can talk about it, cause it's pretty important.

i'm not in the staff anymore, so it is all up to you.

i can only help if there is such a need ;)
2009-09-13 14:29:31
but i`ve got only Coronel who`s under 21 ;> and you`ve got similiar players...i don`t...

WOW guys,i love these players after this match.they played with heart and despite the big difference with our opponents:i've studied a good tactic to stop our opponents in every area of the field and the results are excellent
As usual,we have been unlucky :( one red card after few minutes and a penalty kick in the first half of the match....i'm waiting yours opinions to speak about our national team
