wow! very impressive! Nice job Vampyr!

Indeed, Pamintuan is getting better really quick and I'm pretty sure he will shortly be a NT leader very soon and for a very long time.

@kp22 - Thanks! Nice to see you here :)

As I spoke with Kazakhstan's manager, tomorrow we're gonna play with younger players. Here's the squad:
1 Edgar Maggay
2 Jayden Layugan
3 Egay Alimboyugen
4 Jondan Romuar
5 Arnie Liman
6 Jondan Ahkiong
7 Jonas Aguilar
8 Homer Manganon
9 Archie Austria
10 Danilo Naguit
11 Diego Pamintuan

12 Johnny Cruz
13 Homobono Hinahon
14 Melvin Sudiacal
15 Yaser de la Paz
16 Gec Cagas

The players in the starting line up are between 23 and 26 years old. Melvin Sudiacal and Yaser de la Paz will appear on the pitch in the second half. Tactics are ready, squad is set - I hope everything will work out just fine ;)

Sounds good :) I don't think posting the starting line up in the forums is the good idea though XD

Why do you think so? There are no positions and no tactics, so no harm can be done :) Also, the managers will know when their players are going to play.

As for the match, I think it was not as bad as the score. 3 goals is way too much to lose in that kind of a game. Again, 4-5 good scoring opportunities and 3 goals scored, when we had about 15 chances and scored just 4. It shows the gap between the older and younger defenders. The midfielders and strikers look really fine considering the age, so the nt should be calm about the future. How about your feelings regarding that match against Kazakhstan?

Good victory against higher classified Andorra. The team is developing, even though most of the players are older.
Next week we're facing Albania.

Sorry, I've been busy lately. Well, to be honest, we played against weaker teams (in terms of the average mark, not the whole squad) so I did expect you to win but still a win is a win, so congratulations :)

About the defenders, you're right that there is a huge gap (I don't know though if experience gives a huge difference) but I think that we still have young decent defenders who are mostly out of form. 28-30 year old defenders for Pilipinas, in my opinion, is still young. For midfielders, we have a lot of potential there but I disagree with the forwards. Pamintuan is the only young forward currently who is really skilled. Tukodlangit and Naguit are getting there though, so I guess they'll replace the trio of Cagas, Santa Maria and Vicente. For keepers, Maggay is the only young keeper who has potential but he needs a lot of pace training.

Unfortunately though, a lot of the old teams in Pilipinas are being lost (a lot of old managers are now inactive) which really hurt the youth schools and the U21, and eventually the NT. I think that only Real San Rafael C.F. and F1 RedBull are providing the youth players for the U21 mostly but I hope that my team, and the rest of the new teams will start to have international worthy youth players :)

Tukodlangit looks almost the same as Pamintuan, only Naguit lacks training and I don't really expect him to be a first squad player but he will be just fine as a replacement. Also, don't forget about Jack Espina, he's a pretty solid goalkeeper and still very young.

I believe that bulacaneo, as a sokker promotor, works on the matter of engaging as many people to the game as possible. You are the only ones who are up to encourage your friends to join us here. We can only support you but there's not much we can do, sadly.

Your feelings about the game and tactics?
I'm aware of the fact that it was another weaker, at least in overall marks, opponent and winning this game was a must but I want to take a look at the tactics from your perspective.

I've watched the match and first of all, congratulations on the win :)

Here are my comments:
Attack:
I think that, tactically, the attack is already good, especially since we had a lot of good chances. I think it's more of the individual player's lack in skill which made us waste a lot of chances. (It's a friendly so I don't think there's anything wrong with player selection).

Just a suggestion: For the right winger (In this case, Austria), maybe when the ball is at the left side, maybe you could place him at a more central spot so there are more players to attack the cross during open play or set plays :D

Midfield:
I don't really have problems with the midfielder positioning that much and I think that the players you use suit their positions. They made great passes to our forwards and Austria. I also like the fact that you made the attacking midfielder take the left corner instead of the closest man (which in this case is the left forward, if you did not change the positions).

I really think that with the midfielders we have, having two defensive and one offensive midfielder is the best for the team :D

Defense:
The thing I noticed is that we somewhat give them space at our third of the pitch, which gave them chances to pass or shoot. Although there are times that I see our defenders closing them down early, I've noticed that it creates a gap in our back four. What I would suggest is that, in the tactics, if you're going to place a defender forward to press on a player, have another defender help him. For example, when the left back goes forward to press the opponent's right winger, maybe the left centerback or even the rest of the defenders can move a little to the left. In cases of attack in the middle, if the centerback presses, a fullback should take his place.

Overall:
Overall, I'd say it's a good tactic but I want to see it against same level or stronger teams because I think that there are tactics that are more effective against weaker team while there are tactics that are more effective against stronger teams :)

Thank you for such a complete answer and a deep analysis. All your notices will be considered and the tactics will be corrected for the future games.
The one thing that needs explaining is the positioning of Austria. When the ball is on the left side of the pitch, placing him on in the middle would be a risky idea. Why? Well, there's a chance that when he will receive the ball, he is gonna run towards the right sight to find his position instead of passing towards the strikers because he will continue to fulfill the tactical plan. This will give the time to our opponent to set up.
I'm also trying different options with the defenders. The changes are not maybe insanely huge and you don't see any difference but we have a huge variety of defenders with no similar skills. Some are great at tackling, some are fast and the other are weaker in these two skills but have really high passing and playmaking.
Next week we're facing Tunis. This is the best opportunity to play for our youngest :)

He'll only go to the center if the ball is on the left side to the middle on the top most boxes (in the tactics). Meaning, during corner kicks and if the ball is on the penalty area only and it's not really middle but just a little right than the middle. Based on my experience on using that kind of tactic, the winger usually passes the ball instantly or directly shoots, rather than bringing it back to the right side :D

It's up to you anyways :) You play with 2 forwards so it's not really that needed. I use that because I play with 4231 so an additional attacker would help during crosses :D

By the way, how do you choose which defender plays on the center and who plays in the middle? :)

Mostly by pace and technique. The fastest defenders are always placed on sides when the ones with the highest technique play between them. Of course, additional skills such as passing and playmaking are also important but I will not put a player with divine passing and average technique in the middle, I definitely prefer at least excellent technique and excellent or formidable passing. I'm not even mentioning the main defender skill itself, it must be at least unearthly, sometimes I have to use magical if the one with higher skill is in a low form or has no side skills.

Good game from the younger players, I'm glad that they did the job right.
Also, we are climbing up in the NT ranking. When I started working with the NT, we were on the 69th or 70th place and to Malta, which was right before us, we were losing about 110-120 ranking points. Now we're 66th with 1223 points and Malta is 65th with the same score ;)

Hard game against Paraguay but a win is a win. Their coach chose very good tactics and made it difficult to create many scoring opportunities. Luckily, the match ended up with a positive score for us.
Next week we're facing Algeria, tough opponent with average team marks reaching 74 points.

Nice win :)
