Mr Tsolias, a surprising result against the 4th biggest nation in sokker. What´s your comment?
Indeed Brasil is one of the biggest nations in sokker with more than 1000 users, while in Pilipinas there are only 19. It was a game like David vs. Goliath.
So, even if my target was a win, the result is great and I am partly satisfied.
The average mark of Brasil was 27% higher than yours, 55,6 vs. 43,9, and you tell us you are only partly satisfied?
In sokker there are some indications like the average mark or the team value. They are just indicators of the strength of a team.
There are also factors like skills, not only the main 8, and tactics.
If you emplace the right players in the right position, then something very funny happens. The users who can´t imagine this fact, start to complain about the ME (match engine)... Ha ha ha!
Tell me 3 factors for this result
First, the kindness of the german U21-coach Moppi, who helped me last week by testing this tactic.
Second, the fact, that some managers take risks to keep their U21-players high in form, by letting them play in oficial games.
And finally, third, I believe. I believe Pilipinas U21 can make miracles.
What was different from the game against Germany?
Some small modifications and the winger. Former coach acelio_1216 suggested the wingplay after the game and I had the same point of view. Even though our goals came from a long pass and from a freekick, the wingplay gave us more space and some chances. Especially in minute 80´ Manuyong could score the winning goal after the pass of wingman Gabat.
You have installed a flagcounter in the pressroom (forum). Is there a special reason?
It is just for fun. I visited yesterday the brasilian forum to see what they are saying about this game and I saw this flagcounter and was very amused! Somebody from Germany, not me - I live in Athens, Greece - had visited their forum and they were alarmed! They thought I was spying them... After my yesterday night visit, they can notice now also a flag from Greece. This is me!
What about the other group games?
It was not a surprise for me that UAE played 0:0 against China. I told after the game against UAE, that I was satisfied on winning only 3:0.
My error was in the game against China. I respected them too much and choosed wrong attacking strategy. We could not avoid the two goals, because they are higher skilled, but we could score at least 2 goals with different tactic.
Romania vs. Senegal starts in an hour. I think that the coach of Senegal is tactical very clever. So, a big surprise is possible.
What about next qualification game against Romania?
Romania is the second biggest sokker nation after Poland. They use different tactics in each game. Thay have an average mark of arround 60. So, it is time for us to make a second miracle.

Mr Tsolias, a comment about the game?
In sokker there are two superpowers. The one is Poland, the other one is Romania. Our players did their best and we lost. Nobody is to blame. The Romanians are simple best. They are the last worldchampions in U21, they are number one in world ranking, they have the second best rating after Poland and their starting eleven value is three times higher than ours.
Of course I would be happy if we repeated our last games result vs. Brasil, but this game could also end with a higher score against us...
If you had to play the game again, would you do something different?
Yes! I would position our attackers more forward. Perhaps I would play with only two attackers. Defence.. I probably would defend the way the O‘zbekiston U21 does. I think we played much better in the second half with the `ts 5-2-3`system.
Tell me 3 things, that you learned from this game
First, if we want to beat teams like Romania or Poland, we have to plan it some seasons before. What do I mean? Some teams have top coaching staff and if we want to have top players, we have to do everything possible, so that the best talented players from Pilipinas move to these teams, like Frank Manuyong did, before three seasons, in the age of 17.
Second, risk more. If our attackers were placed more forward, then one or two goals were possible.
Third, I have to see the game again to answer it. It has to do with the big change in the second half.
What big change in the second half?
In the second half, the Romanian team had a lot of difficulties. They had to make a lot of fouls, they went often offside and we had some slight chances to attack.
What about the other games? Sénégal-Zhōngguó O-0 and Brasil-U.A.E. 17-0!
Sénégal is our next opponent. They are very tough in defence and they proved it again, against China.
About Brasil: The brasilian sokker community experienced some problems after the last weeks game, the draw against our team. Voices against the manager were loud and the topic about the game Pilipinas-Brasil was closed by the forum-moderators. I think this triumph will help them to calm down.

Before the game, I was afraid. The tactic used by Senegal is very dangerous for our team. We were very lucky to have our goalkeeper Wayne Duyan in big form. He made great saves and kept his sheet clean. We scored 2 goals, but Sénégal could have sore 3 or 4 goals. So, I am very happy about the result. I think Santa gave us the three points as christmas gift!
If you had to play the game again, would you do something different?
Perhaps some things will be quiet different in the second game in 2 weeks...
Today, we saw Fernando Mangrubang play in the midfield. Isn´t he a goalkeeper?
Mangrubang plays in Real San Rafael C.F., like Sid Jabol, as playmaker. I think bulacañeo is one of the best playmaker-coaches and you can see it in the progress and in the auality of the playmakers coached by bulacañeo. From now on, Mangrubang is a hot prospect for being playmaker in the team of Pilipinas.
What about the other games in group H?
Brasil managed to win China, so we have to be very carefull in next games and have some luck, like today.

It´s a friendly, against England. I will try some new things..

I feel very sad about the result. Senegals coach is very good in tactics and he surprised me with the tactical change in the second half. After minute 45´, Sénégal had 4 men attacking. It was too much for our defence. In minute 60´we also changed tactic and played very risky. Bigalbal came very close to the goal on minute 90´, but he missed. Last game against Sénégal, before 2 weeks, we were very lucky to win. The result today is fair. Some of our players are missing in form, some others in condition. I simply couldn´t find the key to beat Sénégal.
If you had to play the game again, would you do something different?
I would try to get more benefits of they high formed players (like Apanapao), is the one thing. The other one is that some low formed players would stay home, even if we had to play with weaker ones.
Is there anything one can do about form?
The only thing I can do is to ask their managers to put them on league games. Young players like to play on Sundays and most times their form raises.
Is the dream of qualification in world cup finals gone?
Brasil has 7 points more. Logic says it´s over. My heart says let´s fight for the best.
What about next game, against Romania, the world cup champion?
It will be very difficult to get a point from this game. Eventhough, I will give my best, as I allways do.

We hosted today the U21 world champions from Romania. It was a good timing for taking some big risks. So we had 3 debutants in this game and played in the first half with a very attacking system. The result may be high, but despite the red card in the 30th minute and the big gap between the two teams, we gave a good performance.
Wouldn´t it be better to play safe and loose only with 3 or 4 goals?
I see no differnce in loosing 4-0 or 6-0. Infact I see difference in trying new things, gain experience of it and in accepting a loss and making the best of it.
If you had to play the game again, would you do something different?
I would tell Arwind Borje to be more carefull with the opponent players. The guy he triped is injured now for 3 weeks.
What about the debtants?
Nicholas Lupitan could be today the MVP. He was very effective in his role. Jondan Nogoy played better as I expected. And transfer listed Crisanto Garayblas showed that he is able to make the right moves. Unfortunately he had to play againt the defence of the number one U21 team of the world.

Here is a report of the second half:
In the second half we changed to the system shown in the match summary.
The game started with great defending performance by Apanapao and a big chance for us in minute 51´.
The next 10 minutes Romania had 2 chances by shoots from the distance. They came in this situation because Magpantay played in position 4 (because of the red) and Dimayuga had to run a lot.
Minute 63´again misplacement of Dimayuga (because he is slower than his opponent), luckily the Romanian striker makes an easy shot.
Next minute came the penalty from Dimayuga and 0-3.
Minute 74´we had again a big chance and after that came te collapse. Infront of Dimayuga should be Magpantay to block the atacks, but he was placed due to the red card in Borjes place. Dimayuga had to make bigger runs, was slower and got faster tired. So he lost the ball, he lost the opponent and they scored 2 more goals in minutes 78´and 81´.
Finally minute 87´, Magpantay did the unexpected (he attacked!!) and 0-6...

Due to the fact that our players are inferior, we play zone-defence (and no man-to-man defence). So more players are involved in defending.
In the first half, after the red card Magpantay had to interfere only one time and he did it succesfully.
Nogoy interfered 3 times (2x succesfull, 1x foul)
Grey 2 times (1x succesfull, 1x lost and 0-2...)
Defending interferences in the second half:
Magpantay: 58´min success, 65´min success, 70´min success, 74´min success, 81´too slow reaction after Dimayugas fault and 0-5, 87´he moves on attack (!!!) and looses ball and 0-6
Nogoy: 71´success, 8x´won, 87´lost in the central area (Magpantay should be behind him - he wasn´t) and 0-6
Grey : 56´min success, 75´lost
Dimayuga: 52´min foul/yellow, 64´foul, 64´min penalty 0-3, 68´first succesfull interference, 69´lost, 69´won, 72´lost, 75´won tackling, 78´lost and 0-4, 81´lost and 0-5, 82´won
According to this facts, Magpantay played better than expected. He messed up only in minute 87´. Dimayuga? He should not play - mea culpa - now I think Pinagbuklod or Baang would have done better, even with the low form they have.

According to your opinion of replacement of defenders sending off, I have the same opinion. For this game I had another decision, because I guessed that Romania will not attack from the sidelines (as it was), so I made this decision. Unfortunately the score was 0-2 in the half, so we changed tactics and the gap was infront of Dimayuga, the weakest one in stamina.

or play another tactic with 1% chance to play 2-2 and 99% to loose 0-3,

Dimayuga had to make bigger runs, was slower and got faster tired. So he lost the ball, he lost the opponent and they scored 2 more goals in minutes 78´and 81´.
Finally minute 87´, Magpantay did the unexpected (he attacked!!) and 0-6...

Due to the fact that our players are inferior, we play zone-defence (and no man-to-man defence). So more players are involved in defending.
In the first half, after the red card Magpantay had to interfere only one time and he did it succesfully.
Nogoy interfered 3 times (2x succesfull, 1x foul)
Grey 2 times (1x succesfull, 1x lost and 0-2...)
Defending interferences in the second half:
Magpantay: 58´min success, 65´min success, 70´min success, 74´min success, 81´too slow reaction after Dimayugas fault and 0-5, 87´he moves on attack (!!!) and looses ball and 0-6
Nogoy: 71´success, 8x´won, 87´lost in the central area (Magpantay should be behind him - he wasn´t) and 0-6
Grey : 56´min success, 75´lost
Dimayuga: 52´min foul/yellow, 64´foul, 64´min penalty 0-3, 68´first succesfull interference, 69´lost, 69´won, 72´lost, 75´won tackling, 78´lost and 0-4, 81´lost and 0-5, 82´won
According to this facts, Magpantay played better than expected. He messed up only in minute 87´. Dimayuga? He should not play - mea culpa - now I think Pinagbuklod or Baang would have done better, even with the low form they have.

According to your opinion of replacement of defenders sending off, I have the same opinion. For this game I had another decision, because I guessed that Romania will not attack from the sidelines (as it was), so I made this decision. Unfortunately the score was 0-2 in the half, so we changed tactics and the gap was infront of Dimayuga, the weakest one in stamina.

According to the 4-0 or 6-0...
If there is 10% chance to play 2-2 and 90% chance to loose 0-6
or play another tactic with 1% chance to play 2-2 and 99% to loose 0-3,
I allways choose the first scenario. ;)
