Subject: [NTU21]National Team U21 of Pilipinas
It was the last match of Abel Cabungcal as a player of SK Tatra Smíchov. I am glad I have bought him - it was no random act, I have been observing Philippine U21 and I knew that cooperation with Tsolias would be a pleasure. ;)
Even though Philippines is a small country, Tsolias counts among the most active U21 coaches. I really enjoyed all the match reports, the "MVP of the match" feature, I was happy when U20 team won Mini World Cup and I was sad when the dream about the U21 World Cup shattered - because Tsolias deserved it. Philippines never played World Cup, but I firmly believe that one day the dream will come true. With coaches like Tsolias or Vampyr and dedicated users such as acelio_1216 anything is possible. ;)

Mr Tsolias, what about the game?
I was a little bit stressed about this game. Despite the fact that Japan has less users, their french coach requiem29 managed it to make good results against opponents like O‘zbekiston, Kypros, Scotland, Tunisia, etc.
We had the control of the game, but I wanted a second goal to feel sure about the 5th victory in a raw.
Finally Agbulos scored his second goal in this match in the last minute.
Do you believe this team can qualify for the next U21WC?
I will know tomorrow. Tomorrow is the draw and I will tell you more.
Suddenly there are 22 players of Pilipinas in the TL. What happened?
One of the three users with youth schools hadn´t log for a long time. 17 players are from his youth school and their auction ends tomorrow morning (Saturday, arround 10 o´clock sokkertime). Some of them are looking pretty nice and I am sure they will get in the future U21-experience.
If you have training slots free, go on!
Which players are the most important in this new U21 generation?
The begin and the end, the alpha and the omega, the goalkeeper and the striker. Alcazar and Agbulos are the big stars of this team.
In the past seasons, your team reached on week 15 an average mark between 48 and 53. Now you got 45,5. Is the team weaker?
The average mark is lower, but the value of the 11 players who started the match is slightly higher than in the past seasons.
To be honest, I still don´t know if this team is weaker or stronger. I think it depends on the form of Agbulos.
What about next game?
Next week we play with Ausralia. That´s all.

There is an interesting statistic about the value of the starting eleven and the result of the matches.
In 50 matches, the value of the starting eleven of the opponent team was loewer or equal or till 12% higher than ours.
In those 50 matches we made
39 wins
5 draws
and 6 matches were lost (three times from Georgia!)
When the opponents team starting eleven value was between 13% and 30% higher, following happened:
16 matches
2 wins
6 draws
8 lost games
When the opponents team starting eleven value was over 30% higher, following happened:
44 matches
3 wins
5 draws
36 lost games
Let us see now our group for the qualifiers for the next U21 World Cup:
Suomi (Finland) - 107 users after the cleaning of April 2016
Slovensko (Slovakia)- 211 users

Pilipinas - 8 users (and actually 3...)
Sakartvelo (Georgia) - 17 users

Finland:
Their coach Kesis is a legend, because of his tactics.
On yesterdays friendly they made a average mark of 48,1
Their starting eleven value was arround 6 688 000 $ (8% more than ours)
I hope they played with their best team.

Georgia:
Coach _GEO_ does magnificent work with this team and with tactics.
On yesterdays friendly they made a average mark of 40,6
Their starting eleven value was arround 4 420 000 $ (28% less than ours)
Georgia´s figures are the same like the past seasons and _GEO_ is allways good for a surprise.
Pilipinas:
Tsolias remains for another season in Pilipinas and the reason is: He is crazy enough to believe in the qualification.
On yesterdays friendly they made a average mark of 45,5
Their starting eleven value was arround 61 740 000 $
Albania
They will have a new manager.
They missed yesterdays game.
The level of the Albanian U21 players is very low.
Persia:
They will have a new manager.
On yesterdays friendly they made a average mark of 32,2
Their starting eleven value was arround 988 000 $ (71% less than ours)
One of the best friends of Tsolias comes from Persia (Hello Meghdad!)

I know their team very well. Their U21 generation is very weak, but not THAT weak. They underperform at the moment, but jezo will be much better coach (probably the best possible U21 coach in Slovakia). During his last WC he defeated Italy and then was defeated by Romania with two crazy strikers (Stănică and Dinu) and cristidinu as a head coach.

Mr Tsolias, what about the game?
Well, we were lucky to change tactics in the last 30 minutes and get a draw. With the first tactic we would loose the game. With the second tactics we could also win it.
Your next opponent is USA. Is Australia so strong like the US team?
l-zsolt, the romanian coach of Australia is very experienced. Their team is not so good like the US team. However it was a good opportunity for me to see the weak points of our tactics and make some changes for the next game.
Tanghal is on the 22 transfer list. Will this play a role for his performance on the next game?
According to most users, yes, he will have very low tactical discipline. However, it´s the opinion of other users...
Furthermore, there will be more players from Pilipinas on the TL on the next days. They are the future generation. I will post here again for some of them.
What kind of training will they need?
Most of them pace, some of them pass. But defence-, playmaking- and striker-training are also allways welcome.
Some words about the elections?
Yes, I feel thankfull about the community here and the trust they offer me. I do not know if we will qualify for the WC, but I know that some people appreciate my work and I promise to give my best.

Before 2 weeks, after the draw, I wrote some things about all of our opponents. The US team has the highest value of all and it also can make the highest average mark of all. Today, their 10 field players had a value 112% (!) higher than ours - it´s the double value! For me, the US team was -and still remains- the big favorite for the first place.
What about the other teams?
Slovakia and Finland are favorites number 2, with slight advantage to Finland, because of their experienced coach Kesis. Both teams make an average arround 49-50 and they are 10 to 15% more valued, than we are. I expect in their clash today a win for Finland.
We are the outsiders, but with todas result we can have a little more self-confidence and even courage.
So, what about our team?
Suddenly we had some problems to overcome.
1. Our best defender, Keanu Camat, faced last Friday a second yellow card and he was not alloud to play. Such a thing wouldn´t be a problem for the USA or Slovakia or Finland, but for the Azals it´s a big problem. We have only 2 active and 2 semi-active users in Pilipinas. It´s difficult to get 11 quality players for a match.
(By the way, Keanu Camat is currently transfer listed and I want to thank his turkish manager gs44 of club Yeni Malatya, for having trained him so well. Gs44, once again: Teşekkür ederim!)
2. We had to face multiple problems on playmaking. There are just a few players. Tanghal was transfered this week and his tactical discipline was very low, Lao is still injurred and all others had bad form. So, I decided to play with Perez and Panaguindo on the sides of the midfield. Perez did well, Panaguindo showed that it was worth to list him only on the last 20 minutes, after the expected and planed tactical change.
3. The form of our players. Most players droped in form yesterday. I think it was the first time I had to play with no player in superdivine form.
The positive things about our team were:
- The divine form of our goalkeeper
- The last-minute skills update of our debutant defender Aries Maturan. Suddenly I had one more option on the defence! Ok, perhaps it was his error on the 4th minute, that lead our opponent to score, but he is still 20 and I am sure he will develop very fast.
And what about the game?
I studied a lot the tactics of USA and I could not find a way to take control over the midfield. So I decided to give plenty of room for the opponent team, without over exhausting our players, and positioned very carefuly our defence. I expected our defence and our goalkeeper to hold on. My plan was to risk all at the last 20 minutes, as we did.
To be honest, I was shocked in the first 20 minutes and I expected USA to score a second goal. Luckily, our defenders ware aware and our goalkeeper in divine form.
You said "risk all at the last 20 minutes". What do you mean?
Haven´t you seen it? We played 5-0-5 in the last 20 minutes. 5 man defending and 5 man attacking!
I told it to a friend, before the game, and he thought I was joking... hahaa :) [Woody, this is for you!]
Do you think you need to change the positioning of the playmekers?
For this game they were positioned were I expected them to be positioned. You can say we were lucky, because USA scored only once. I can live with it. On the next game we face another opponent and we will have different tactics - I hope also different playmakers.
Would you do something differnt if you had to play the game again?
Perhaps, but I also think a draw is an excellent result.

Mr Tsolias, what about your opponent?
211 users in Slovakia, I guess more than 100 junior schools, and a very experienced coach. I new this would be the toughest opponent in the group and it was. I expect them to win all the games in the qualifiers.
So, what about our team, this week?
You know are problems are general. We have just 3 academies and very few options. Nevertheless we are respectable. I read on various U21-forums, that Pilipinas is dangerous, Pilipinas has slight chances to qualify etc. If we want to keep this image also In the next seasons, then we have to start now to train players in the age of 17 or 18. Otherwise, games like this on today will be lost by 5 goals or more.
I which various U21-forums have you read it?
Last time in the Slovakian forum, yesterday. They wrote this comment after the draw of the groups. I think most big teams respect us. Only Poland and Romania can be sure for a big win against us.
What about the game?
The tactical approach of the Slovakian coach was perfect. It could be also a tactic of mine :) ha haa ha :) Their players were higher skilled than ours, especially in the secondary skills. Just chack how easy they gained the ball. However I am still making thoughts of if and how we could get a better result.
Do you still think the Azkals can qualify?
I will be realistic; Slovakia, Finland and USA are much stronger. We are the big respectable outsider. However, my goal is written on the
Pilipinas U21 site. It´s to go further, than we can.
It´s from my favorite writer Nikos Kazantzakis, from the book he wrote while he knew he would die soon, This "order" gives me devotion for the team, it gives me passion for having heartbeat before every game and it also gives me a kind of satisfaction, even after a lost game - satisfaction of having tried, of having fought a good fight.

0-0 very nice :)) I saw the game very late at night and I was very happy about it
and also a little disappointed because of the unfair red card. Without the red card we could get a better result.
I issued a formal complaint about the referee at FIFA.
Match report later today, on Monday, I don´t know when... Sorry guys, tomorrow it´s the marriage of my best friend and I am the groomsman (best man / witness to the marriage) :) I have a lot to do now... ;P
