Press Conference

Mr Tsolias, what about the game?
It is a big frustration for me to see my team scoring 2 own goals. I modified our tactics this way, so that we create a plenty of chances. We created a plenty of chances and scored 2 times. We could score also more goals.

Have you an explication about the unlucky result?
I want to make it clear. There are no lucky and unlucky results. There are factors, which decide who will win. It looks like we played better and had the bigger chances, but there are many factors in this game. I analyzed every single factor I could see in this game and if my suspicion is true, then I have to rethink and modify the way I decide to choose tactics.

Can you be more precise?
I suspect I was not aware about a critical detail about tactics. Do not expect from me to tell it now. First I have to check if my hypothesis is right and then I will tell it by skmail to the users who give me their support, to the users of Pilipinas.

Is the case qualification over?
It is very early to say so. Hope never dies and Chile played 0-0 against Tunisia.

You used today your injured player Cabungcal. Don´t you think it is unfair?
Please read again the rules. The risk of a new injury does not increase in such a case, it remains the same. The only risk was that he possible wouldn´t be good enough. Ok he did not performed like in previous games, but our seconf goal started by a magic pass from him.

What about next game?
A defeat is planned. I will give my best to prove it is a wrong plan.

Press Conference of Spains coach Namlu`u

Hola Mr Namlu`u, is it true that the coach of Pilipinas U21 praised the way your team attacks?
Ooh, YES, as he kept telling me after the match, while we were at restaurant that night: "very effective way of attacking!", he claimed to me and my "kids"... we were proud to invite the whole team from Pilipinas to our late dinner :) ...it was very funny all together there… It was the beginning of an excellent relationship... I can say now, Pilipinas and Spain are close friends... we both praise the way each other spread the game in there, in the field. What´s more, headache is the very word... hahaha... It is amusing, trying to peer inside the game of each other. That's what make us so confident and easy-going hahaha We have got many things in common

Will you tell us a few things about the game?
...Before the match started, we knew, Tsolias is one of our favourites managers around the world... He is thoughful, and get the meaning out of any match result before taking place; he is also doing an incredible job for Pilipinas football in sokker... Because we didn´t have so much confidence about winning, we knew it wouldn’t be that easy, NOT AT ALL. We usually try to play our style, and it doesn`t matter what happens, and care of the rival neither, whichever his level is… I mean, we like play making and enjoy our attack, so… So we did against Pilipinas, we played and let Pilipinas play, but they were not lucky, because our defenders did their job precisely… Pilininas had also their 2 best forwarders out, because of injuries, so their danger turned down and we knew it could happen. We had better cards, and we used them…”

The name of your tactic in this game was named "pUTO pao, PIA?". What does it mean?[i]
I tried to mix some meanings... "Puto pao" is special recipe from Pilipinas that does really tastes ;-) . “PIA” is my love hahaha Miss Universe –MY Universe- hehehehehe… and that is an “Utopia” in Spanish, PIA and me… “YUTOPIA” in tagàlog ;-)

Are you satisfied by the performance of your team and the result of the game?
I personly felt a little blue, because it was not possible to display our creative style... It was up to Tsolias indeed hahaha …It was his “fault”… We won and did our job AT HOME… As a group, my kids played quite well, and were very confident at defence… that gave us the match… It was a hard work to be acurate, and we had lacks of skill there… Pilipinas was at very good position, and took rid of clearest shoots by stopping them before their goalkeeper could even see them coming, we felt most pressured… Because of this, it was a very good result for Pilipinas… Who knows, what would have happend in case they were all together, without so important players, because they couldn’t come to face this match… ”

Which one of your players performed best and which one of Pilipinas?
There is not only a player, but several… I mean, the whole team did their best at one movement… However, our defense line was awesome, specially Torres… and thanks to Urroz we could lead to the victory… About Pilipinas, they split a very good tactic that let us no ideas how to go through his lines. On the other hand, Pilipinas made us crazy by his wing player Cabungcal… We didn’t expect such a player doing his particular game… we had to run more than we could, just to try to stop him hahaha WOW… It was a surprising moment… And what about Halum?! Eeeh?! The goalkeeper! That is what I call “the” goalkeeper… He was at the right position most of the time, and made us fail most of our chances… He was like a Wall!! He even stopped a penalty! Pilipinas´ defense was cool too.

Your team played so far with all teams except Tūnis. Which team will follow Spain in the world cup finals?
We don’t know if we are going to be in cup finals yet… neither whether we are going to be the first team here… there are too many points to get at this very moment. It is too soon to save the bacon haha… About which teams could be up there to clasify for the cup finals… Hard to say… As much as I’m concerned mmm rather dificult… OK, OK, I’ll take risk hahaha… It depends on the next much between Chile and Mexico… The winner of that match could have their chance… However, I can see Pilipinas too, fighting until the end here… They have got one of the best managers, I already told you.

Do you believe that España U21 can be the next winner of the U21-World Cup?
Who knows? We live right now, at this very moment.. so we play right NOW... What comes comes, because there is no other future but what happens. Each day do we do our best looking for our best game... whether it takes our efforts all together to win or not, is nonsense for us. we do feel ourselves already winners inside, just playing the way we feel... Uncertain results await, specially here, in sokker World Cup... hahaha… Of course I’d like to take the cup home for the Spanish supporter, but we don’t live alone at his world, do we?! haha

Do you want something more to add, perhaps a message to the supporters of Pilipinas U21?
oh, yes... I'd like to... they are worth to realise how other international teams think of Pilipinas U21… I must insist, they got a competitive team and one of the best managers I have ever faced to. He does also cares of Pilipinas’ mere youngsters… Pilipinas playes a good match!!! If we’ve had similar level, Pilipinas’ tactic would have made the difference and other result could have been… I wish your team could be more lucky and classify… Your team is better than years before, and improving each time… You can do it, GO ON! …You have got friends around here… I wish the very best for all of you… Abundance

Press Conference

Mr Tsolias, it´s the third time you play against Georgia with coach GEO and you loose. Do you have any explanation?
On the first time we played, our teams were equal. Now the gasp is big. We should easily win this game and I feel ashamed about the result. I really have no words to describe this looser feeling I have now. I´m sorry.
Also congratulations to rival coach GEO.

Will you tell us a few things about the game?
Till the tactic change on minute 55 I think we controlled the game. Georgia had no chances at all and we were 2-3 times very close to score. After Georgia´s goal we changed tactics and we lost the control of the game. What else shall I tell about this game? We had 9 shots, they had only 1 and by this one, they won the game. I don´t want to blame the match engine. It is a complicated algorithm based on parameters, like tactics, positioning, player skills etc. I choosed the tactics, I choosed the players, so, the blame is on me.

Ok, the blame is on you. Would you do something different, if you had to play this game again now?
I allways try to rationalise the reasons of lost games. I think one reason was that I ordered our strikers to run a lot..

With this game I think you are out of the qualification race. Will you now play with younger players to prepare them for the next qualification in 2 seasons?
Definitely not. I wil stand up again and fight for every game. So far the games we lost against Chile, Mexico and Georgia were games lost in details. My purpose is to fix these details.
The younger players will get their chances on the 2 friendlies.

And that was ment to be my next question. What about next game?
Next game is an U19 game. We play against Swiss and this is a chance for some managers to realise, that their 19 year old players will play on the future for our U21. By this I hope that they will start to give them more training.

One more question please. Did you expected this result?
When I saw the draw of our group I told to myself: Oh no, not again Georgia.. But I couldn´t expect this result. I expected to win 3-0. This game was shocking news for me...

This is a shocker. One shot, one goal. Could you be even more unlucky?
2016-03-19 13:31:05
Hold on! It is not easy to understand what happens here, and to accept some kind of results!! It was not fair... But unfairly tales happen. :/ but... Fair is only a word without any meaning, but how we decide to tell the difference, even if it is not that kind!

Hugs!

Press Conference

Mr Tsolias, are you satisfied with the result?
Yes, I am satisfied. Of course I would be happy, if we had won, but it´s ok to loose an U19 game against a team with 10 times more users.

What do you see in the future of this U19 team?
- First: I see a team with a very strong goalkeeper. It would be perfect if we had a backup available for his place.
- Second: The defending line performed very well, but all defending players still need a lot of improvement.
- Third: The midfieldplayers are missing... There are 2-3 with high basic skill and 2-3 with high secondary skills. I prefered to use today the second ones. Sapigao, Baclao and Dumondon will have to wait.
- Fourth: Strikers. This is the best part of the team.

What are the next steps for the U19-team
I think I have to mail some of the managers and ask them to focus on the training of these players, or to sell them. We will see.
At the current time there are less players in Pilippinas than ever. Most players of them in the age under 19 are necessary.

Last time you played an U19 game, it was before 2 seasons at the same week. Can you make a comparison?
Yes, I remember that game:

After this game, the manager of a striker, Bulacañeo, decided to focus on strikers training, because of his striker Lumahan. He also decided to sell his midfield player Balatibat. I think both decisions were the best for the team and for the players. Lumahan became a better striker and Balatibat a better playmaker, because he moved to another club.
This is for me the main point, to focus on one specific skill for at least one season. It´s not possible to train players in all positions except you train pace.

And how about the U19 before 2 seasons and the current U19?
The current team has a better striker and a better goalkeeper. In all other positions, the U19 before 2 seasons was better. It´s not a big difference, but if we want to be competitive, we have to take care about the current U19-players.

How to take care?
It´s simple. Just follow 3 things:
1. Give your player 90 minutes in the friendly and at least put him on the Sunday game after minute 65 if your team wins or looses by 2 goals difference.
2. Train him on his basic skill, or in pace, or in technique, every week.
3. If you cannot follow steps 1 or 2, please contact me. I can find managers, who would like to make your team richer, by buying them and they would also be able to follow steps 1 and 2.

What about next game?
In the german forum there is a bet-contest. All participants expect despite the unfortunate result of last week a win for the Azkals. Here is the link of the german-bet-forum: http://sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1280/ID_topic/3209505/pg/0#new

Press Conference

Mr Tsolias, fourth time you play against Georgia with coach GEO and your first points! What about this?
All four times we had a better team than Georgia an we lost. Even on this game, it was very difficult for us to score. I think coach GEO has some better ideas than I have. He has my respect.

Are you satisfied with the game?
I would be satisfied if we had won with 3 goals. We had the control of the game, but it was very difficult with both tactics to sψore. I have no explanation. If you have an explanation, your opinion is welcome!

Chile and Mexico played 0-0. Do you have still hopes for the Azkals?
Mathematically we can qualify, but it does not depend only in our results. It is very difficult and if we loose next game, as most people expect, it will get more tough.

Among 16 qualifiers group, group J has only one team with an average mark over 50. Our group has 4 teams which can make an average mark of over 50. Is it an excuse for the current situation?
I know that we are in one of the 3 most competitive groups. If we want to be competitive, than we have to survive in such groups. Especially for Pilipinas we have to take care more about young U19 players. We need at least 11 of them to get enough training.
3 of them are in my club. It is difficult to keep a balance between the targets of the own club and the full training for youngsters. But... if we want to be competitive, then at least two U19 players must get full training in each club. Not more than three, it is very difficult to give them all full training.

What about next game?
I told you, most people expect a win for the spanish team. So far they have won all games and the senor team is in the final of the World Cup. Spain is one of the biggest sokker communities. By the way, good luck to Spain for the final next Saturday - I am on your side!

I'm glad we got the win. We've had a difficult time beating Georgia. Even with a less valuable team, they are hard to beat tactically. Congratulations and thank you for trying your best! :D

Mr Tsolias, what about the game?
I knew we were playing against one of the strongest U21 teams of the sokker world. Despite this fact, as some of you may know, I prefer to risk everything in order to win a match, even if there is less than 1% possibility, than playing catenaccio, total defence.
So, today our team was positioned with counter attacking orientation through the wings. I am satisfied by the efforts the players made. They made my heartbeat go faster each time our wingers attempted to attack, and that´s also sokker! It is feelings, emotions, heartbeat!

Are you satisfied with the result?
I must admitt it, yes. Of course I would be happy with a draw or a win, but the spanish community seems to be very strong.

You told twice about the strength of the spanish community. Do you say so, to tone down one more lost game by your Azkals?
- First of all, Pilipinas has one of the smallest communities in sokker and it seems like a miracle that our team can make an average mark of over 50. There are less than 10 users, just 4 or 3 junior schools and the miracle is that they train the players so efficient, that they reached today a mark of over 54.
- Secondly, I thing all field players of Spain are more expensive, than our players. The Spanish team has no weak sides.
- Third, as long as I am managing the U21 of Pilipinas, only one opponent team made a higher average mark than Spain today. It was Romania with Cristidinu as coach. The next season they won the U21 World Cup. I know, that average mark is just an index, but it is also an significant indicator because most teams playing against teams I manage, do not reach the maximum of their potential.
Finally, one more indicator for the potential of the spanish community is the big final of the World Cup tomorrow. Spain is on the final.

What about next game?
If you mean the game against Mexico, we have some chances to win and I will give my best. If by telling "next game" you mean the Sokker World Cup Final betwaeen Poland and Spain, then I say: ¡Vamos España!

Mr Tsolias, what about the game?
It was a game with more shots for Mexico, but biggest chances for our team; as I expected! Unfortunately we couldn´t score, so we lost our last chance to qualify.

What is the main reason for not winning this game?
I could tell you about the form of our players in contraddiction to the form of the mexican players, I could tell you about the plenty of u21 players in Mexico and the lack of defenders in Pilipinas etc, but I would lie. I think, that the way I ordered Macalincag to play destroyed in a way our counter attacks. We could get a better result tonight...

Mr Tsolias, do you really believe you had a real chance to qualify?
One of my favourite writers is Nikolaos Kazantzakis (he is the author of "Zorba, the Greek"). He wrote: "Reach the point out of your limit". To qualify, before 4 seasons with double active users as now in Pilipinas, this seemed utopic. I failed on my target. Pilipinas did not qualified, but some people now believe, that with different tactics, we could make it. The utopia is not an utopia anymore. Now it´s a possibility, a lost chance. This is the main point! The 4 active users in Pilipinas trusted the crazy coach from Greece, they concentrated on the training of 20 players and now we know: It is possible.

What about next game?
It´s an U20 game with Austria. They just qualified in the U21-WC and they will use the opportunity to test their WC-team. I lived for 1 year in Vienna and I am looking forward to enjoy this game.

Press Conference

Mr Tsolias, are you satisfied with the result?
You know me. I am never satisfied with a lost game. However I have no complains about my players and their performance. Austria´s team is much better and their coach from Swiss, slamtam, is making a serious job in Austria. They have qualified for the next U21-WC and by the way I wish them good luck - Alles Gute bei der WM! :)

If you have to play the same game, would you play with the same tactic?
I would like to play with one more MID instead of using 3 strikers, but there are not enough playmakers, nor defenders.

Uow do you think looks the future of Pilipinas U21?
For the next 2 seasons we have a magnificent goalkeeper and a plenty of strikers. After it we will have big problems with goalkeepers and with defenders.
I think we should start now train players in the age of 17.
Currently there are some players transfer listed, who will make it easy to the U21 if they get trained.

Who are those TRANFER LISTED players?
First of all there is one goalkeeper, Ignacio Dumaloan, in the age of 16. If he starts now getting goalkeeper training, then in the age of 19 he will look better than our current (and also tranfer listed) goalkeeper:
Lester Alcázar, age: 19, divine (17) keeper (End of bidding: 2016-04-23 16:03)

Then, there is also another 16 years old transfer listed player. It is Pacifico Pambid. It´s a long way for hm, but he is just 16!

Finally, there are 2 more transfer listed players. They are members of the U19 team, they will play in the qualifiers for the WC in 2 seasons and they are high skilled in technique.

Gary Payawal, age: 19, sum[44]
average (5) stamina tragic (0) keeper
adequate (6) pace good (7) defender
very good (9) technique poor (3) playmaker
adequate (6) passing solid (8) striker

and

Gareth Malalis, age: 19, sum[45]
poor (3) stamina tragic (0) keeper
good (7) pace good (7) defender
very good (9) technique average (5) playmaker
good (7) passing good (7) striker

All these players listed above will become players of the U21. Pilipinas has just 3 academies and there are not quiet a lot and overskilled players. To make it clear, in todays game, five (5!) players have technique skill under 5(!!!).
Two of our defending players today have skills in pace-technique-defence: 11-3-7 and 8-1-10.

Why buying such low skilled players from Pilipinas?
Those players will play games for the U21 and so they will get more training and the most important advantage: Their experience skill will grow faster! Read on the rules about the experience skill, to understand how important this is.
If you are still not convinced, then I will tell you the following: Buy and train them to make me happy - ha haaa ha ha :)))

Happy? But somebody told me that you may continue next season with another team. Isn´t it true?
At hte moment there are only thoughts. No plans. 50% I will continue with Pilipinas U21 and 50% not, but I will still take care about the team in different ways.

Which teams are favorites of your presence next season?
I don´t know, I make thoughts about the NT of Pilipinas and the U21 of Hellas. I think it is still very early to discuss about it.

What about next game?
It´s against the respectable Tunisian team. They played with Georgia and Chile 0-0. They are respectable and dangerous because of the tactics of their coach, but I think I will find the way again to repeat the win of the first game.

Thx for your words. So, it was for me a good test for the next saison. Im just trying to test some players and their roles. It wasn't our best game and it was a good result for your team, Tsolias.

Our strikers often shooted near the goal or your Keeper was strong. He'll have a great future.
