Subject: [U21] News and Infos

Last week we had the expected loss. But after watching that match we must say that a draw would have been okay. If our striker hit the goal and not only the bar... Venezuela U21 had a 10 points higher rating but we were not that much worse then them.
Today we play agains China U21. It's a U20 match and as written above I really hope our defense doesn't get injured and so our keeper. Our midfield is really strong and I hope they can put some pressure on the chinese defense.

Certainly again a loss by 1:0 against China. We played with the U20 team and this time it was not that close like in the match against Venezuela. China had the much better team and our 20 years old strikers are not that strong to put some pressure on the chinese goal. So it was a deserved loss.
Next friday we will play against Hayastan U21. The teams stregth is similar and so I expect a really close match. At least I hope for a better result than a 0:1. ;)

An 1:2 at the end. They scored in minute 82 and we had no opportunity to equalize it. Our team did well in the second half and managed to equalize the goal from the first half. But it was not enough. I'm a bit disappointed because we had a few chances. We don't have a second striker and next year it will be very difficult to play successfully without three or at least two adequate strikers. So sorry, guys. A loss again.

Next week the U20 cup starts. Here's the schedule of our group:

It will be very hard for us to survive this group. But nevertheless we give it a try. :-)

It was a really exciting match against Ecuador. A 0:0 at the end wich is okay for both teams. I saw the better chances on our side but as written above we don't have strikers to use them.
Next round will be against USA but they already fixed a match with another country. So it's a 3:0 win for us and we have time to play against Estonia. It's one of the worlds best teams and the current number 10. They will play with a U20 team and we can field the best we have. Nevertheless I don't expect very much. A loss with less then three goals would be fine. And to score one would be better. :-)

Tonight we're playing against Spain. Nothing to win in that match but the aim is to lose with less then 5 goals, because if me manage to reach that we end second in our group.
Against Ecuador we had a draw, against the USA a 3:0 walkover victory. Ecuador played 1:6 against Spain and will get a 3:0 walkover victory against the USA tonight. So a 0:4 or a 1:5 (who should score?) would be fine.
But to be honest, I'm not sure if the second is qualified for the next round. I'm gonna check that. :-)

I'm very proud of our team. We nearly managed to get a draw against Spain. Of course they were much stronger then us but we defended bravely and had two or three chances to score. At the end a 0:1 defeat but we ended second in our group which makes me proud. :-)

Next round is against El Salvador. It will be a tough game with advantages for El Salvador. They definitely have extraordinary players. But with a performance like against Spain everything is possible. Keep your fingers crossed. :-)

Certainly no good match of our guys. Next friday we're gonna play against Malaysia. I expect a win.
