@Res_Pirate,
Dear supporters of the Magyarország U21 national team,
Today we learned the outcome of the draw for the group stage of the upcoming U21 World Cup. We have been placed in Group A, where our opponents will be three teams from South America: Brazil U21, Uruguay U21, and Mexico U21.
The draw was not particularly kind to us. These are not weak opponents. As we all know, teams from this continent like to play joyful, attacking football. Their players have very high technical skills, love dribbling, and are not afraid of one-on-one situations.
However, let us not forget one very important thing: our young national team is the current U21 World Chempion. We are the ones defending the title, and it is our opponents who should fear us. That is the mindset I firmly believe in.
It was a very good decision that today we played a friendly match against a team from the same continent Chile U21, who will also take part in the upcoming U21 World Cup and will compete in Group E. Honestly, Chile U21 turned out to be a very well-chosen sparring partner. They play at a similar level to Mexico U21, so based on this match we can say that we should be able to handle Mexico. On paper, Mexico U21 is the weakest team in our group.
The clearly stronger teams, and those closest to our level, are Uruguay U21 and Brazil U21.
The head coach of Uruguay U21 is dewb, an experienced manager. He has led the senior Uruguay national team 11 season and is now in his third season with the Uruguay U21 team. Despite his extensive experience, he does not yet have any major achievements as a national team coach. Currently, Uruguay U21 is ranked 19th in the world U21 rankings. For comparison, Magyarország U21 is ranked 3rd, very close to moving up to 2nd place.
The most difficult opponent in our group, however, appears to be Brazil U21, coached by gordo, another very experienced manager. In his career, he has coached the senior national teams of Ireland twice, Paraguay three times, Brazil four times, and this is now his third season with Brazil U21. Like the Uruguay coach, despite his experience, he has not yet achieved major success as a national team coach.
Brazil U21 is a very strong team and is currently ranked 5th in the U21 world rankings. They have already won one silver medal and three bronze medals at U21 World Cup. Let me remind you that our opening match at the U21 World Cup will be against Brazil U21. Today, Brazil U21 lost their friendly match against Bulgaria U21 1–2, but their team rating was 55.9, which again shows that their overall strength is very close to ours.
My wish and my dream is that the only European team in this group Magyarország U21 will finish in first place, while the three South American teams fight fiercely among themselves for second place.
The big question is whether our young team will add another medal to the trophy cabinet at this U21 World Cup. At the moment, Magyarország U21 has two gold medals and five bronze medals. Personally, I will be happy with any medal, regardless of color, because this season our squad is weaker than in the previous World Cup. Still, I would love to win another medal for the supporters of Magyarország U21.
In my personal coaching cabinet, I currently have one gold and one bronze medal, and I would be proud to add another one. But the road is long, and anything can happen. We are not the favorites of this World Cup. But let us remember when we became World Cup last time, we were not the favorites either… and yet we did it.
Köszönöm
From my side, I can promise fight, commitment, and full professionalism, worthy of a reigning U21 World Cup. I count on your support and encouragement. Everything I do as the head coach of Magyarország U21, I do with you and for you. Every success is our shared success, and I dedicate it to you for trusting me with this role, for running youth academies in your clubs, and for your daily work in training future and current Magyarország U21 players.

U21 World Championship – Group A Summary & Prediction
Group A of the U21 World Championship is without doubt one of the toughest and most interesting groups of the tournament. It consists of Magyarország U21, the defending World Chapions, and three strong representatives from the Americas: Brazil U21, Uruguay U21, and Mexico U21. All teams have quality, but their strengths and expectations differ.
Team Overview:
Magyarország U21
The reigning U21 World Champions enter the tournament with confidence and experience. Although this squad is considered slightly weaker than the one from the previous World Cup, Magyarország remains one of the top teams in the world, currently ranked 3rd. Strong organization, tactical discipline, and experience in decisive matches are Hungary’s biggest advantages. As the only European team in the group, they also bring a different football culture that can be difficult for South American teams to face.
Brazil U21
Brazil U21 appears to be the strongest opponent in Group A. Ranked 5th in the world, they have a long history of success at U21 World Cup, including one silver and three bronze medals. Their squad is technically excellent, dangerous in one-on-one situations, and very strong offensively. Despite recent friendly losses, Brasil U21 - Bulgaria U21 1:2 Brazil’s overall team strength is very close to Hungary’s, making them a serious contender for first place in the group.
Uruguay U21
Uruguay U21 is a solid and well-balanced team, currently ranked 19th, but their recent match ratings show that they are capable of competing with the best. They are physically strong, tactically disciplined, and difficult to break down. Uruguay may not be the favorite, but they are a classic “dark horse” and will be dangerous in every match.
Mexico U21
Mexico U21 is considered the weakest team in the group on paper. While they are technically skilled and play attacking football, they lack the overall quality and consistency of the other three teams. However, they should not be underestimated and could still take points if an opponent makes mistakes.
Predicted Final Group A Table
Magyarország U21 – Experience, tactical maturity, and champion mentality
Brazil U21 – High individual quality and offensive power
Uruguay U21 – Competitive, but narrowly missing out
Mexico U21 – Brave football, but not enough points
Qualification Prediction:
In my opinion, Hungary U21 and Brazil U21 have the highest chances of qualifying from Group A.
Magyarország U21 is expected to advance thanks to their experience in high-pressure matches, tactical flexibility, and the confidence that comes with defending the world title.
Brazil U21 should secure qualification due to their superior individual skills, attacking threat, and strong tournament pedigree.
Uruguay U21 will likely fight hard and could challenge Brazil for second place, but may fall short by a small margin.
Mexico U21 is expected to gain valuable experience but is unlikely to progress.
Conclusion:
Group A promises intense, high-quality matches. While anything can happen in football, the most probable scenario is Magyarország U21 and Brazil U21 advancing to the knockout stage, with Magyarország aiming to confirm their status as world champions by finishing top of the group.
