Today, the match for Hungary U21 was supposed to be easy, but it turned out to be the worst one in this World Cup. I believe that this was the worst moment at the most appropriate time. Now it's time to get to know the opponent and time to surprise them with a better, changed tactic.
It was a lesson that will give me motivation to develop a new strategy and analyze the next opponent, which will be a team that finished first in one of the U21 World Cup groups.

Dear Magyarorszag U21 fans, ahead of us is a very tough match at the U21 World Cup against the Italy U21 national team. In this match, we are not the favorites, but I promise a fight. I must admit that I went into the match against Mexico U21 completely unprepared; I trusted in our strength and power, I was sure we would win or at least secure a draw, but I was very wrong. That is why I am doubly motivated for the match against Italy U21. I have been analyzing their play and their matches for a long time, which is why I have been less active. The Italy U21 team currently has an incredibly strong generation of young U21 players. It will be very difficult to beat them, which is why we need an extraordinary tactic, which I am preparing specifically for this match. Proof of how strong the Italy U21 team is currently can be seen in their match against the Poland U21 team.

The Italians are very strong; they are the only team that has defeated Norbert since he became the coach of Poland U21, and he has already played against teams like Romania, Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, we lost, and watching this match, I felt within the first few minutes that today fortune would not be on our side. In the opening minutes, we should have scored a goal, or maybe 2-3 goals. However, today we were stopped by the exceptionally performing goalkeeper of the Italy U21 team. We attacked and created very dangerous shooting opportunities, while Italy U21 made one play—a long-distance shot—and scored. Our goalkeeper, despite his great abilities, performed very poorly on that goal for Italy :( Then a penalty for Italy U21, and the game was over. No matter that we created situations where our forwards were one-on-one with the goalkeeper. We just couldn’t manage to win today :( ...

Kedves Magyarország U21 válogatottunk szurkolói!

Tegnap véget ért számunkra az U21-es Világbajnokság: a legjobb 16 között búcsúztunk a tornától, egy jó, de sajnos vereséggel záruló mérkőzésen az Olaszország U21 válogatottja ellen.

Úgy gondolom, hogy ezen a világbajnokságon egy kicsit nem állt mellettünk a szerencse. Voltak pillanatok, amikor ez a játék – mint annyiszor – nem adta meg azt az apró pluszt, amely néha a sikerhez szükséges. És volt egy mérkőzés, amelyre edzői pályafutásom során a mai napig nehéz magyarázatot találnom: a Mexikó U21 elleni 0–3-as vereség. Ennek nem lett volna szabad megtörténnie, mégis megtörtént, és őszintén mondhatom, hogy ez volt a legrosszabb mérkőzésünk azóta, hogy vezetem a Magyarország U21 válogatottját. Meggyőződésem, hogy ez a meccs kulcsfontosságú volt a további sorsunk szempontjából. Ha ott győzni tudunk, ma nem Brazília, hanem Magyarország játszott volna Horvátország U21 ellen – és hiszem, hogy ezzel az ellenféllel szemben is megálltuk volna a helyünket.

Az Olaszország U21 elleni mérkőzésen az egyik fő esélyessel találkoztunk a világbajnoki címre. Tudtam, hogy a jelenlegi keretünkkel rendkívül nehéz feladat lesz legyőzni őket. De aki látta a mérkőzést, pontosan tudja: a 0–2-es végeredmény ellenére a magyar fiatalok jó meccset játszottak. Küzdöttek, bátran futballoztak, és csak az olasz válogatott kapusa akadályozta meg, hogy legalább egy pillanatnyi örömöt szerezzünk magunknak és nektek.

Összefoglalva: kiestünk az U21-es Világbajnokságról, de harcban, emelt fővel tettük ezt. Ezúttal nem sikerült annyi örömet szereznem nektek, kedves szurkolók – de valljuk be, unalmas is lenne, ha mindig nyernénk
Ilyenkor azonban jó emlékezni arra, hogy az előző U21-es Világbajnokságon Magyarország U21, az én vezetésem alatt, a világ legjobb ifjúsági válogatottja lett, és jelenleg is Magyarország viseli a világbajnoki címet egészen az idei torna befejezéséig.

A munkám a magyar fiatalokkal nem ér véget. Ebben a szezonban még előttünk áll a Mini U21 Világbajnokság, a Druids Cup tornája. Őszintén mondom nektek: ezen a tornán érmet szeretnék szerezni, vagyis az első három hely valamelyikét. Megvan hozzá a potenciálunk, és a most érkező U20-as generáció rendkívül ígéretes képet mutat.

És a munkám a Druids Cup után sem ér véget. Hamarosan új választások következnek a nemzeti válogatottak szövetségi kapitányi posztjára, és már most szeretném világosan jelezni nektek, kedves közösség, kedves Magyarország U21 szurkolók:
szeretnék maradni ezen a poszton, veletek együtt dolgozni tovább.
Egy új, nagy projektet szeretnék elindítani, amelynek címe egyértelmű és ambiciózus:
U21-es világbajnoki érem Magyarország számára.
