Subject: Youth Coaches

Not ideal switching between an outs and a brill for your juniors but as you said, finances are tight (for the first couple of seasons anyways :P).
You just wont know the juniors proper talent I guess ;)
2008-03-02 12:37:11
You're right, but as long as the juniors' talents are going the right way it's not as much of a problem ;)

Anyway, hopefully I wont have to swap too much, my head coach is good in the areas I need him to be for the moment! I mostly need to improve technique, playmaking and striking, and he's unearthly in technique and striker.. only incredible in playmaking, but that'll do for the moment.

So which are you training? MIDS or STR ? Apparently, it seems better to concentrate on one position in the Sokker world, rather than train the whole team.
2008-03-02 12:49:10
I'm mostly training Midfield, but didn't realise that it was best to train just one position.

I did do some forward training last season though, I was told it was best to train multiple skills rather than stick to a single skill. Assumed that meant balancing training across the field positions. At the moment I'm playing 3-5-2 and training my mids in playmaking. Is that a bad plan?
2008-03-02 12:51:13
I should also say I'm playing players in midfield I expect to eventually become forwards too, just to get their skills up. Hence I'm losing some games quite badly (well that and my tactics aren't up to scratch yet either :D)

multiple skills YEs
STR --->
Striker, Pace & Technique
MID ---->
Playmaker, Passing, Pace & Technique
DEF ---->
Defender, Pace & Passing
GK ---->
Keeping, Pace & Passing

I get the impression that its best to choose one position, and concentrate on the relevent skills for that position.
Then you can maximise your revenue and improve your team.

Personally, I concentrate on MIDS, as there are enough Striker trainers in Cymru, but recently, I've pulled 2 unbelievable defenders from the Youth school, so I might train that for the rest of the season. I need it anyway to survive in the Premier league.

You've got a top of the table clash tonight. Should be interesting.
2008-03-02 19:43:13
Thanks for the info, I'll certainly bear it in mind.

I've got a bit of an odd mixture to rationalise to single position training at the moment, but I'll probably look to train middies only by next season then.

Yep, should be an interesting match tonight, I'm trying yet different tactics :D

... I think for the moment I'll switch to technique, that way I can train my forwards in midfield ready for selling and sort out a better side for next season :)
