Hehe, ok, you play with 3-2 or 3-1 as defensive section. I'd like to see how your defense copes with a wide winger then. Anyway, I think Vogue made the right thoice to pick 4 defenders, so you cover both your wings quite well, without 'losing' a player (5 defenders). The only reason I advised Coward (wth makes those names database??) to avoid situations like this: If the striker comes running towards the defenders and there isn't a defensive mid, a defender will leave the defensive line to go tackling. Now, if that attacker has some technique and he starts running sidewards, your tackle will be less effective (sidewards in stead of frontal). Result: there is a gap in your defensive line and your defender stands still for a while (happens after every tackle). Or the striker could pass to another striker.
Anyway, it turned out fine, just wanted to point out why I'd keep my defensive midfielder a bit lower.
Now you can say thank you and advise me how to beat Hrvatska, Brasil and Uruguay? :p

Btw, you can't compare Cymru to Indonesia. Cymru is an older NT (both on existence as on players' age) and thus further develloped;)

As for the 3 man defense, I actually agree with lammie. We could've used a 3-5-2 that game and I reckon it would've worked fine.
The way I was gonna set it up wouldve had all their strikers and mids covered and still have 2 wide wingers.

I do also agree with you that 4 defenders is the best but only for most occasions, I wouldnt dream of using only 3 defenders against teams around our level or better but against lower teams, I think it is possible and today could've been one of those occasions.

On a side note, did you see the tactic put out by nigeria against england ?

Just checked it. That NT coach is playing with renamed standard tactics :p (think today he used the 'normal' sk tactic)

He probably set them saturday night after last weeks game as he got a bit of stick off their previous manager after the game :P

I watched alot of the england v nigeria game and it was quite funny that nigeria actually had a few good chances to score due to englands defenders camped just inside nigerias half :P
Defensively though, it was like all of the nigerian players had signs with arrows pointing to both sides saying "this way for lots of free space" :P
