Am I doing the right maths?

Roof does not worth to be build?

I've made this calculations:

It costs 60£ per roof per seat/bench and the increase we get is 0.75£ so get the money back we need 80 matches and that means, considering only home matches during the normal league about 11.42 seasons thats too much time...

yes well if your careful with the finance, it shouldn't take long with the sponsors and bonus it should take less time

I don't believe it is quite that simple, if you don't build a roof then you'll get less spectators when there's bad weather. Therefore the cost of the roof isn't quite as linear as that.

Okie, where to start :)

First of all, instead of thinking of it as an add on, you need to think of it as part of the complete picture.
e.g.
It costs roughly 140k to build 1000 seats under cover(lets assume these are behind the goal for the least income) and you will get 4500 from each home game which now cuts it down to needing just 31 games(less than 4.5 seasons) to get your money back and then you are earning money from then on with that stand.

To add to that, a % of each crowd always prefers to have a type of seat when they go to watch the game (they will take a higher cost seat if the one they want aint available but that aint important to this :P) and I believe a small % of that crowd will want a seat under cover so if you have none of those stands, you will be missing out on some crowd.

Also, as ddraig said, under cover also avoids the ill effects of bad weather thus earning you more income that you would've lost had you not had any stands under cover.
A good example of this is myself and JayJay, back when JayJay was winning all the time (meaning he must've had a bigger fan club) and had a bigger stadium than me, I still always got the bigger crowds at my home games and that is simply due to me having all seats under cover.

In short, would I recommend building seats under cover? hell, yeah
I only wish I didnt waste money building benches when I first started :P

same here, i had a sell out for my first game this season 213k in one go. mind you i'd have benches behind the goal with no roof and seats with a roof along the side until you have the money build.
