Subject: Country Name

I really can not understand why people have to forced to call their country in English. Just because everybody can understand English doesn't mean that everything has to be translated in English.

I admit you are right, we should keep the welsh language. But Brokus is also right, Wales is the common name used around the world. In rugby its never cymru vs England it is Wales vs England. Tough decision i admit. Welcome to the game.

It should stay as Cymru :)

That's slightly different, Welsh is actually spoken unlike Scottish Gaelic ;)

Like to reboost this topic as a friend of mine just registered, but in England as he he didn't see wales on the list.

I think a change could be neccesary if Cymru wants to boost in users.

Tell him to register again but in wales this time :)

that's not the point, having wales would increase the population. It's not like the whole of cymru will disappear because of a name change.

Well i'd prefer to leave it as Cymru personally as surely most of us welsh ppl know it is called cymru in our language even if they dont speak welsh.

If it does get changed though, it wont be the end of the world so dont mind either way tbh :)

i prefer cymru aswell, but if we want to increase cymru and get better players in cymru, a change is needed

I may be wrong but i'm sure it was called Wales when I first joined sokker, not sure how much if any difference it made back then and not sure how much if any difference it would make now tbh if it was changed back(if it ever was that is :P).
You only need to look at other online games to see that wales will always have less users than other countries. Its part of being a smaller nation.

We may still have a small userbase but we are steadily growing in active users and will continue to grow slowly whether we name ourselves Cymru or Wales IMO.

Anyways, enough on this topic from me as I said, I would prefer Cymru but not really fussed if it gets changed to wales.

Cheers, i always like a good argument, but from the statistics, most people want wales not cymru.
