Subject: NT Cymru vs South Africa

No arrangements were made. As the next 2 weeks we face Suomi and Brasil, I might go for a weaker side than possible. Especially as we have 5 injured players among the 40 lads in the NT at the moment.
Besides, as I have some time now:
- if anyone feels the urge to become a scout, step forward.
███* Update players
███* Check transfer list and advertisements (2) daily for decent players who (might) move to another team.
███* having a look at the 'best value - position' database to see if any new gem appears.
- if anyone wants to join as assistant NT coach (especially other (future) NT candidates), step forward
███* Discuss/propose tactics
███* Player selection
- if anyone enjoys organising stuff to get more people involved (predictions, riddles, ... - all NT related of course), let us know.

Tactics and line up are set. Tried to find a balance between quality and not too many A squad players and the players required for the tactics (mainly back ups for conditionnal orders).
Some examples: Gray only plays 30 minutes, Seward and Johnston play one half each. Loveless and Batts are on the bench. Same for Fozer.

I'm not sure if I'll have woken up and taken the train home to see the match ;)
In case I make it, I'll post the line up minutes before the game. And btw, double figures will depend on how well you taught one of your lads to finish opportunities :p

Cheers :)
Close game, but in the end a deserved win I guess. Just imagine Loveless on the central mid position and Batts for Prothero (who was utterly rubbish today). Add Fozer in the goal (though Partridge did quite ok) and Letheran upfront instead of Phillpots (who had a good finishing rate today) and there is a very decent squad on the pitch. Only thing Cymru really misses is a decent winger, though Seward can become such player.

Draw would be honest result.. similar teams , more luck with you ;( Third goals was unusual mistake by our GK;/ Nice situation in 75 minute but only crossbar :(
SA need more luck in next matches:D

but our central defender offered your winger a few good balls Oo
I could watch that game 5 times and still wouldnt be able to figure out how the hell we won it :P
It was shockingly bad :P
The amount of times we failed to tackle their winger or stikers was absurd and the same for the amount of times the ball just bounced off the players instead of being controlled.
A win is a win though I guess ;)

yes;> and your GK didn't offer goals :P He caught some important balls :>
really?
About the winger: we did quite ok, only after he was replaced, their new one was hard to catch. This also includes the 2 fails of Prothero. Balls bouncing off, true, form wasnt perfect, nor are the skills :)
I think we tackled their strikers pretty well, except when they had to be tackled from behind. And how we won: perfect positionning of our striker in most of the cases. And with Loveless instead of Collins, we'd have much more chances. Every throw in to Collins was tackled (guess that's the disadvantage of excellent tech and formidable pm), but I preferred his high defense ... :)

but i don't know why, because they have the same technique lvl and first winger has higher form;p

I guess because our defender got tired :)
That's why I prefer subbing my striker (and winger if I play one) at half time :) Fresh stamina vs tired player is a great advantage :)
anyway, wingbacks werent well positionned from my part :)

My post was a dig at our players, not your tactics, if it sounded like that :P
As for positioning and choice of players, personally I wouldnt have put prothero as a CB due to not enough tech for it imo. As for seward and hewitt, if they are to play, I think they need to be very wide and high to stand any chance of getting passed NT defenders as they aint exactly top quality. Johntson looked better when he came on but didnt really get enough chances to shine.
As I said though, a win is a win and with our full 1st team playing, things do seem to be improving at a decent rate :)

Jonathan Prothero, age: 24
*** stamina *** keeper
*** pace *** defender
outstanding technique average playmaker
***passing *** striker
I prefer more pm as well, but we cant complain, and he is still young :)
