Ok, my five pence on my match.

liverpool.fc 1 - 3 Skylarks FC
Bezecný (29) HT Nikisz (42, 72)
Giron (79)

Now, first thing, don't let the stats fool you. The shots were 20-9 in liverpools favour, but often they were not one-on-one or in any way clear-cut.
Firstly - The lack of my shots can be attributed to Giron's 3 day injury, leaving him unable to withstand a challenge, before the injury he looked deadly.
Secondly - The amount of shots on their side was contributed to be Fudala, my keeper, having hopeless passing. This meant that many of his kicks were sent right back towards his goal, rarely threatening.

The Match.
Admittably, Bezecný, their striker was a handful, but the compact back five was tailored for this and he was often overwhelmed. He missed a tap-in, miscontrolling a ball round the post of an empty goal, but the Skylarks were clinical with their finishing. That said, the game was stuck in their half, and with better players, liverpool would have crushed an unforunate Skylarks squad.

The Tactics.
SFC - LP adjusted his tactic, allowing the players to stay inside, to deal with the centrally based tactic of the Liverpudlians. However defensive the tactic was, the intention was clear and well-excuted. Counter-attacking football in its prime. This was helped by -
LFC - The attacking tactic, combined with the weak passing of Fudala, allowed LFC to dominate terms. The mean problem was the defence. The quality was lacking, and Nikisz and Giron (even when crocked) were allowed to break consistently. The falling point was the one man defence. With SFC's midfielders, a pass oft broke the whole defence down, and Nikisz and Giron are some of the best in this class. With a proper defence, a loss was expectable for the Skylarks.

Finishing:
While the LFC players were kept at bay, they did get a few chances, but some heriocs from Fudala saved the day. Even if he was the cause for half the attacks.
On the other side, the abundance of one-on-ones for Nikisz and Giron allowed some finishing with finesse, ie - both of Nikisz's goals. Giron scored a screamer from 25 yards to set the away fans on their way with a smile.

Conclusion:
Don't let the stats fool you. SFC had the better chances, but LFC, with better defensive tactics and a decent finisher, would have destroyed the Skylarks. But they didn't - so YEAH!!!
