There are no top notch players in our U21 though and there are very few uber weak opponents in the U21's where we will be able to play our 2nd string players(20yr olds).
On the odd occasion we do come up against those very weak teams where we can still get a result by using our 20yr olds then I fully agree with you but sadly that aint gonna happen enough to make much of a difference to the 20yr olds training.
Once again, I agree with what you are saying but I dont think the idea works so well for U21's due to the lack of opportunites we will get to use those 2nd string players. Even in the seniors we wont get loads of opportunities to play 2nd string players but there will be more than compared to the U21's.
In short, use whenever possible but dont use it as a plan to make our U21's better in the longrun as it just aint gonna happen.

Yes but this is what we as a Nation should be working as. We should be working to improve our whole squad. What i see is we could either waste 3-4 seasons thinking we can do well in the WC etc. which we cant using our best players possible or we could use that 3-4 seasons as a Nation working to improve the players we have and trying to bring younger talents into the team.
my point exactly.
We're better off going: Short-term, Short-term, Short term, x1000

BUT IT WON'T WORK
WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH QUALITY OR DEPTH
WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH QUALITY OR DEPTH
but the point i am trying to get across is there is no need to use our best players every single game! That is all we seem to do, we need to rotate the players we use spreading any possible training help equally, other wise we might aswell have a 11-man squad.
So i dont see why we should waste seasons trying to when we could be improving the players we have.
But we still are improving our players we got. I know I said it aint that much extra training but why not give it to the 21yr olds ready for when they move on to the seniors. That way all players that pass through our U21 squad will get an equal amount of extra training rather than say screw the current crop of 21yr olds and lets boost our 20yr olds for 2 seasons instead.

Gah! You. Are. Not. Improving. Players. Significantly. Your. Way.
I said that I would not play weaker teams to clarify what you seemed to be attacking me for. This is a game. Where is the fun in playing Cameroon or Uzbekistan? Where's the challenge in playing Tunisia or Georgia? There isn't! So I won't play them 'to get a feel of the NT', simple as. No if you can give me one very valid reason why that extra 1 and a half weeks of training will change Cymru into a world power, I will resign on the spot and you can have the job.

yep, utilize the hell out of talent so it's ready for NT
Did i say we will gain world power? Did i say we should be playing the weakest possible team possible?
Look at our squad at the moment, we have 13 21yr olds out of the 17 players we have. This shows we are too heavily reliant on the 21yr olds. Every season we face this same problem of having to scramble and search for players. We are never going to gain world power on sokker, we are never going to win the WC so i personally dont see why we should act as if we can get anywhere in it.
We need to build a stable team which is the thing we are missing, stability. With a stable team of say 25 players, all mixed ages. We will be able to see more a variety of possible talent.
To me, its seems the theory you go by is to follow the footsteps of previous U21 managers. Therefore improving hardly nothing.

At least my theory is going to at least attempt improve something.
There's a reason why everyone walks that path. If you start suddenly mixing up training, saying ' Stuff the 21yos' you aren't having the best long-term impact on Cymru NT. What you have done is mixed NT - where players can be useful straight from the off at 22, with U21, where players are only useful at 20-21.
i didn't say stuff the 21yr olds, all i am saying is use more variety wherever possible which is something you dont seem to agree with.
How exactly do you think your method will improve our U21 team then ?
With so few players that we have and will continue to have until our usebase and amount of juniors grow, I just dont see any way it will help.

I plan to play teams similar to us. That means to achieve my aim of getting to the 3rd pot, I have to play the best players possible. If a 18yo is the best choice, then sure I'll play him, but if the best choice is a 21yo, then I'll play him as well. Your idea to rotate players really makes no sense.
