onkelchen to All
Hi sokker-players from Cymru!

Now Im playing sokker for 8 years since early 2006. Last 4 seasons in second german league (2. Bundesliga).

And im also scout for german U 21 since almost 2 years.

I can tell about tactics. But one thing I have learned here at soccer even more than in real football: tactic depends on players you have.

Main point in Cymru is, so I think, to research enough good players and - at best - some few players, that are really good.

That means: continuosly scanning transferlist and try to get and then keep in contact with managers of the players. That will be make the tactics automatically: more offensive or defensive depends on players.

So: scouting, scouting, scouting is the key for some success ....

Hope you try it with me as U21-manager ....

Thanks!

So, just some few words what Ive done for preparation for the job during last week:

1 Made a database of all welsh players max 21 age (ID, value, last position), last two days began to select the best of every age and position: could start action minute after election. Took a look at important clubs for training cymreig players (like TSV 1860 Monachium or Universitatea Cluj-Napoca and the 9 active clubs of Cymru), but not yet contacted.

2 Made pre-appointments with several probably NT-coaches for friendlies and have to notice thankful respect for mrtessa accepting and helping this. Right now, if it all works like planned, we can play against 3 stronger teams (France, Rossiya and England in last week of season, if the coaches of this countries will be elected as I presume) and 3 not soooo strong teams (Singaore, Ozbekistan and New Zealand).

3 Took a look at first opponent of us, Luxembourg, and at the probably coach of Lux, the former one of Kypros, PREK, and his kind of tactics.

Think I got prepared as far as possible and Im ready to fight whole season and - hoping so - longer period of some seasons. Fight untill last game in week 15, nevertheless results will be, I promise:

Good luck with your next season in charge of Wales U21. You've done a good job last season with a diminishing supply of talent.

Keith

Congratulations on your reelection

Thought about, if I want it and finally decided to try it once again.

But I am very sceptical about chances for Wales in next WCQ: dont think its possible to get as close to qualifying as last time.

If another user wants to be coach of Wales U21 AND thinks he has a concept and ideas to make it better: I will step aside ...

If not: Then I will follow the progress of our few stars like BIG BEN Platt, Ian Leah and the really good midfielders Marmont and Horne from daffyd and maybe some new ones.

For this I catch for a new vote for reelection ...

So, tomorrow next elections will begi. And Im, once again, insecure about candidate for next season. Any advice!?

Pros:

- track record of mine here isnt absolut fantastic, but ok I think
- its still most times fun for me to coach and see the games of wales U21 every friday
- like to watch the progress of few welsh stars like Big Ben Platt or goalie Ian Leah
- just like it to be coach of Wales U21

Contra:

- its much more time to be coach of national team here than only managing my own club - time invested in a slowly starving game
- decrease in communication from managers (got less skill-information last season and same time lost consequence asking for)
- maybe other managers have new and better ideas and really want this job!?
- maybe I better try to get coach of another team here (some english spoken country or even germany, where Moppi not once again want to candidate)!?

Have to decide next days ... advices welcome.

My friend,

Unfortunately, the community got at a low number of users, just 6. I do not how many are active, how many train welsh players. Sokker has gone really low, the devs interest in the improving of the game is decreasing strongly.

I would say remain, you are an asset to this community.

Good luck!

Hello,

I'm thinking to start a new challenge with a new U21 squad. I have no chance for bigger countries, and your country got my attention because although the number of users is small, they seem active (the only active user from my current U21 country was banned in only few months after he got the team).
If you are not going to continue to coach this U21, I would like to give it a shot. I believe that my results with Deahan Minguk U21 were pretty good and the Cymru U21 would be a good chance for me to confirm those results with a 50+ mark U21 team.
I will follow up this forum to see what decision you will take.

Best regards,
Alin

So, decided against new candidature.

Alin seems a good candidate as me and Mega-Adry from Italy can also be a good choice.

and the Cymru U21 would be a good chance for me to confirm those results with a 50+ mark U21 team.

Only few, 2 or 3, games at end of last seasons, Wales played with 50+ marks. In history I didnt found such games, only found many in higher 40s. You or another following will begin the new season once again with marks round about 42-44 (you will see in last 2 games against Maroc and Slovenija). Think this is the main difficulty you have to solve as coach of a little soccer-country like Wales in my eyes: scouting a number of player that are competitive enough to fight for place 4 or 3 (Wales never made it to place 3 in WCQ-history and I failed close also last WCQ) is more than 80% of work as U21-coach.

At my beginning Wales had a (relatively) wonderful defense, but lousy strikers and an average midfield. Now we have a star as striker (Big Ben Platt), a wonderful goalie (Ian Leah) and also a wonderful 2nd goalie and a good midfield with at least one star (Thomas Marmont), but a absolut lousy defense ... so tactical options are always limited to the players, - way more than in countries like Romania, Italy or Germany ... wanted to play last season more games with 532, but without good defenders!? ... :( ... so played often 442.

Independent who will win - remaining welsh managers will make the decision - I will support the new coach. My database made by my own over last seasons is far better than the one in the NT-database (Im not a big friend of this tool) and will send the winner after election, also - its just an offer - some more advices about all around welsh U21 ... so, I hope, new coach will have a better start than me 4 seasons ago ... lets see ...

You've done an outstanding job with the Cymru U21. I've only checked your last 4-5 games and observed a mark of 48-52. It's very impressive for a country with such a small number of Youth schools. That's the tough thing to do in such countries: to convince the users that the youth school is a good opportunity to make some money, and also to help the country's U21/NT teams (advantages -> the chance that youth players will be drafted for U21 is definitively bigger: training boost and sale price bonus).

It took me 2 seasons to convince the only Daehan Minguk user with a YS to place the youth players on the transfer list. He had some very good YS players(estimated on value/wage/mark), but they were never played. Also, he never showed me any skills for the players. At this moment i know the skills for only 20% of my U21 Team (from first eleven and reserves).

I will take my chance and place my candidature. Whoever will win, it will be hard to reach to the standards that you raised.

Thank you and good luck!
