Rhysj37 to All
It’s been a fair few years but after occasionally flirting with the idea of a return and sometimes signing up but not being given a team, I’m back on Sokker. It’s looking quite quiet in here!

Anything big I’ve missed with the game in 10-11 years? Delighted to see some old faces still going on here, want to make a proper go of it now I’m back!

Welcome back. :)

Nice to be back - had a very nostalgic scroll through some of the old threads last night, some of them through my fingers but a lot of them really made me smile. Certainly something to be said for our youthful enthusiasm back in the day!

There have been changed in that time especially to training.

I've had a play about - it looks pretty significant! From what I can see your best prospects should go into advanced training and then you can focus training split by position?

Yes that's correct.
Much better than being stuck with only one position to train.

I was doing it wrong for half a season.
Despite Langhe explaining the new training to me. Well he gave me half a sentence on it :)

Half a sentence from Langhe - some things never change! ;)

advanced training 100% = approx 3-4x more than general training 100%

i would have went to a more populated league if i were coming back, money is slow as hell and it's the same people and tactics to play against. not to mention the amount of fake and 2nd accounts that join and get banned

Did you mean formation training there instead of general training?

General training is approx 1/8th full training with high level coaching. Less on a sliding scale depending on how good your coaching set-up is. Not something to think of too much at the start. Money will be tight for a while.

Had to come back into the Welsh league really - I can see our borderline forum graffiti is still all there on here. Mad looking then mind we had about 30 active users in Cymru but is what it is, I should be able to promote up to the Premier for next season and start to build from there.

Noted on training - at least it costs a lot less to start building a team now than it did back in the day. I had to grind for 3 years to win a division 1 league back in the day and 4 years to reach the Cymru premier so I can be patient for money to build!

With the new league structure.
Home game every week. That helps a lot.
I can't remember the sponsorship levels from before.

It's still all relative to fan base and mood and collective fan base in the league. Not sure how much just being in a higher level affects it.

Any lost teams who become 'super' bots I believe retain there fan base so that will help keep the average up.

I would think being in a smaller league top division will stay pay much more than a lower level in bigger Country.

It would be playing bots that would be the biggest dull part.

We have a slightly more active top division in Scotland but next level down is barren. But yeah couldn't join another Country just because it was more populous.

Wouldn't be against a UK league structure, IF everything about my club remained Scottish.

I did try invite users from Andorra to Scotland as they are active but bored :)

There has never been a migrate option in this game.

I might organise a UK tournament at some point. I've done it at National Team level. Would probably need to utilise the arcade option for it. Which means you'd need plus. A friendly tournament wouldn't be appealing. I'm a corner tactics manager when it comes to friendlies.

That's good. The politics of a UK league cuts across real world football and into Sokker still! Back in the day we had ~70-80k users for a long time globally, it's good to see the game is still active but was a shock to see how small the userbase has fallen (mind you, me leaving that is part of that reason I guess!). Would be well up for a friendly tournament, I'll renew my Plus now at the end of this trial. It was back in the old 8 team league days that I was playing, so with the users we have now that would fit Cymru better for a top division as you'll always have bots in there now but that is what it is I guess, we used to have 3-4 users a division in division 1 and then a middle spell of 8 weeks of using bots as punchbags. I like the extra games at least and like you said the extra home games is definitely a boost! A UK league structure would definitely be more competitive but a lot of things are exactly as they were when I left bar that league structure so I'd be surprised to see a major change.

Love that the corner tactic is still in place!

I remember years ago.

The subject of Northern Ireland was discussed. But the Irish community voted to be unified in the sokker world. Don't think Northern Ireland was ever created here. I remember 2 of the Irish users were Northern.

There have been real Anglo Scottish tournaments etc.

Most recently the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Although seems to have reverted to all Scottish again.
