Saw that earlier, he’s been playing mid in the junior games so he’s definitely an outfielder - must be some player!

only had an 18 rating though, so low playmaking + low pace / passing
if an outfield player probably high passing / pace to have that value, I have yates same age, 12 pace 3 passing, gets 30 rating as mid order.
just a shame to get a pull just before the new season starts.

Most likely a high level keeper.
They usually come with reasonable skills in other areas.

Similarly high level outfield players usually come with some keeper skill too.

He was at popped up to very good last week but back down to adequate this week, very erratic training! Listed him up for sale but will see what happens. One of my young strikers got injured last night when I was already in the market for one so Lodge would've been useful if he wasn't slower than erosion.

Tbh he's worth less than a fish supper :)
At 19 you want them to be around outstanding or better.

At 16 or 17 he would have potential. Even the low pace could be fixed.

At 18, if you had space, your club is still new so very possibility he could of been an ok trainee. Plus Welsh players will always take priority over any other player for you. Most of my trainees are now Scottish and that's the way it'll remain.

Incidentally how good are the fish suppers in Wales nowadays?

I experienced one at a young age. I have no memory how good it was. Only other 1 was from either Colwyn Bay or Llandudno. What I remember is it was a Chip Shop and a Chinese combined. I was dating the owners daughter. Who tbf did say would I buy Chinese food from a chip shop?

I guess we're blessed with really good ones in North East of Scotland.

I once bought a fish supper in Wolverhampton. But my Scottish money was initially refused. I asked where did the fish come from? She said Peterhead. Ok I said, you know that's in Scotland where this money is from. But she didn't.

I digress here. I could probably write about fish suppers all day. Maybe if I'm ever famous, I should write a book on the subject.

Now white puddings, also fascinating...

At the rate that a fish supper has gone up with inflation, I might still get a tenner for him!

There's some really good fish suppers down here in Pembrokeshire, a superb one in Fishguard that unfortunately decided to shut as a full time chippy a few years ago but has stayed open as a pop up and now they randomly open a few days a month (seems like more effort doing that than just being open normally but not for me to say!). It was ranked number 2 in the UK in 2018 or so, whenever it's open it's a must have. The old Chinese/chip shop are very underrated as well mind, one of those strange dichotomies that the more types of food a takeaway does sometimes the better it is!

Anyway, less fish suppers and more youth school chat. Can't be throwing him in against some of the human teams in the Cymru Premier here, he'll get battered...

I see what you did there ...
If you're seeking to finish in a high plaice he's going to be no use. Eel let you down.

Ashvale, Aberdeen retired as UK no.1 after winning for years. Perhaps paid off?

Since then 2 in Stonehaven have been UK no.1, The Bay and Carron. The later also is where the deep fried marsbar came from. As Scottish as kilts n haggis. :)

However if your up here. If recommend the one in Gourdon harbour.

You can get sticky toffee pudding as a dessert. Brilliant.

Not open on a Monday. Unfortunately Stonehaven pool league is on a Monday. Otherwise that's where I'd be for supper on that away day. One of my disappointments that.

We're skate-ing close to the line with some of these, we'll be asked to take a hake to a different forum if we don't get back on topic!

16 year: 22 points
17 year: 29 points
18 year: 37 points

this was the old sum for how good you want your players to be at the end of their respective season (e.g. 16 yo turning 17yo with 22 points is the minimum goal)

probably a bit inflated now with players in advanced training.
i would say if they still have ok sum with good talent (3-3.8) then it's worth keeping around as long as they're under 20, since they can still can get good random pops.

****sum is the total stats added not including stamina/gk

Those are reasonable minimums.
But can be adjusted which skills your summing up for position of the player.
Strikers don't need so much.
2025-03-21 16:58:06
if you're going for pure, sure, but more sum the better at lower ages, especially if you're going to sell them. for example if a player comes out at 16 - 16SUM, 2 pace, with decent enough talent he can pop pace maybe 5-6 times in a season, so already he's reached 21, 22 from a stat you wanted to increase, good talent means he will get random pops every so often so inflating his sum.

gks will always be low sum compared to others, mids (cm) will have highest sums, def and strikers around the same sums if we take into account what stats make a good def/strik. but pace is the name of the game and important for all roles which is why buying young players with low pace used to be the thing, even if bad talent, getting them to 10 pace around 20-21 and selling off was ok way of making money, sadly TM heavily inflated, and if plans for youth reforms go through, talents may become even more rare at a young age therefore inflating again.

Hi,
I have tried to find some sort of youth tutorial but I couldn t find one. So if you don t mind I ll give my opinion here. Feel free to disagree.
In my opinion your youth coach should be at least incredible on general skill otherwise the channces to get a decent youth are very low. Yes, you can a have a coach with a lower general skill hoping to get a decent 16 year old at the begining of the season but its a lottery.
Another thing I ve noticed since I started managing Cymru is that users are keeping all the youth that are entering the academy which for me is a waste of money because they usually sack half of them.
When a youth enters the academy you should presume that player will go up in skill every 4 weeks. Best talent is every 3.5 weeks, worse talent could be more than 7 weeks.
In my opinion you should only keep:
16 years old that exit the academy above poor(3)
17 years old above adequate
18 years old above excellent
When it comes to training your main team coach should be unearthly on the skill your are training. Otherwise you are losing time and the players don t train properly.
Another advice for training. With the new changes pace train slower. My advice is to train pace until the age of 19 or until the pkayer gets to outstanding pace. Nowadays people exagerate or they don t care about national team and train pace until 21. Doing that in my opinion will result in an unbalanced player.
For example :

Ceri James, age: 21
club: COLO COLO ALBA, country: Cymru
value : 1 279 000 lei
wage: 15 800 lei
unearthly [16] form
good [7] tactical discipline
height: 178 cm, weight: 69.8 kg, BMI: 22.03

solid [8] stamina tragic [0] keeper
brilliant [14] pace average [5] defender
solid [8] technique average [5] playmaker
weak [4] passing adequate [6] striker

As as I said these are just my opinions
