Subject: Youth School/Training
Hi,
I have tried to find some sort of youth tutorial but I couldn t find one. So if you don t mind I ll give my opinion here. Feel free to disagree.
In my opinion your youth coach should be at least incredible on general skill otherwise the channces to get a decent youth are very low. Yes, you can a have a coach with a lower general skill hoping to get a decent 16 year old at the begining of the season but its a lottery.
Another thing I ve noticed since I started managing Cymru is that users are keeping all the youth that are entering the academy which for me is a waste of money because they usually sack half of them.
When a youth enters the academy you should presume that player will go up in skill every 4 weeks. Best talent is every 3.5 weeks, worse talent could be more than 7 weeks.
In my opinion you should only keep:
16 years old that exit the academy above poor(3)
17 years old above adequate
18 years old above excellent
When it comes to training your main team coach should be unearthly on the skill your are training. Otherwise you are losing time and the players don t train properly.
Another advice for training. With the new changes pace train slower. My advice is to train pace until the age of 19 or until the pkayer gets to outstanding pace. Nowadays people exagerate or they don t care about national team and train pace until 21. Doing that in my opinion will result in an unbalanced player.
For example :
Ceri James, age: 21
club: COLO COLO ALBA, country: Cymru
value : 1 279 000 lei
wage: 15 800 lei
unearthly [16] form
good [7] tactical discipline
height: 178 cm, weight: 69.8 kg, BMI: 22.03
solid [8] stamina tragic [0] keeper
brilliant [14] pace average [5] defender
solid [8] technique average [5] playmaker
weak [4] passing adequate [6] striker
As as I said these are just my opinions

well well well, so back again after saying you'd step down, not surprising.
for new guys who can't afford to roll on coaches or afford to have more than 1 good coach, just get a coach that with 16 (unearthly) pace and train pace, sell - you won't be in the best position to train people for the NT and just focus on building your team, stadium, selling players for profit etc and then focus on coaches, youth team.
if you have players with talent - it can be tough to make the choice, i know because i was in that position and i chose to keep when selling was the better option - just don't forget to advertise their talent if you have it, they will sell for more.
the first post here has the tools to track talent for you if you don't want to do it yourself.
most of my youth school now have 5+ weeks for anyone with ok-good talent.

Plenty of green there! Trying to slowly work through upgrading my coaches, some pace pops as planned this week though including that Adrian Rees I bought a few weeks ago, so ticking along nicely.
not many pops this week, but i expect a big PM pop next week, switched from tech to pm for the rest of the season
for sale:
Rees Maffia, age: 18, height: 170 cm
value: 211 000 u$s, wage: 1 300 u$s
club: 4 a 0 y se fueron, country: Cymru
superdivine form, formidable tactical discipline
weak stamina, tragic keeper
very good pace, poor defender
very good technique, very good playmaker
excellent passing, unsatisfactory striker

Have this one bookmarked. If I was buying I'd be interested. But I'm not atm.

My guess is that I won't be able to afford him!
But I am looking for a new trainee, so who knows....

huge pop week finally, not as many PM pops as i'd like but the random pace and tech pops for non advanced players always welcome.
11 pops for me, a couple of players with double pops which is always nice. Plenty of injuries doing the rounds which is disrupting training somewhat but that is what it is - everyone seems to be losing a player per game at the moment.
7 skill pops for me and a few good ones.
Starting to get a long time between pops for some players now, as their age and skill being trained gets higher....

depends on their talent + what level their skill is
if they are 20-22 then anything over 10 can take 4-5 weeks if they have ok talent, good talent can be lucky and get 3-4 weeks still but progress slows down a lot after 22, and is very slow at 25+
as long as you're within 4 weeks, you're doing fine, and sometimes you just get a few weeks of no big pop numbers and just gets spread out during the weeks rather than one big sync like my players have had.

yeah, i remember the good old days, because i'm so old - if you were training a player and he got 20 days + injury, you'd consider selling them because they've lost 2-3 weeks training.
i've ben fairly lucky where 2-3 players missed a week, but still annoying and risky to play a slightly injured player. idk if the "bug" is still around, but a slightly injured player can get injured again, so if they were injured for 5 days, get injured for 18, days, the game adds it together for 23 days total.
