Subject: Cymru - Season 73
Just a 2-0 defeat to Blue in a game we held out for an hour in - have to say I’m very pleased with that. Some better personnel and we’d have turned some of that possession into a few more chances so plenty to take forward to next season. Finally a game against a bot this week to give my fans something to cheer about - a month of straight defeats does nothing for your fan mood!
I had the same thing with the first few games of the season. I guess I will have the same for the last 3 games too!
But until then still in the middle of a run of bot games. All trainees that played got through the game unscathed, just got to get the rest of the trainees through the next game.... just keep training!
Also got to over 100 league goals for the season. Don't think I've done that before in the Welsh Premier, but can't remember and don't have Plus to see old seasons.

Just had a look - you have done the last 4 seasons! Most of them only just over 100, except for one season where you had 177?!
A win at least - hit the bar a fair few times but my fans should hopefully cheer up now, not been good for attendance at all. Scraping to break even this week with as few fans coming as I had.
Not much to note about this game, another bot; but no new injuries....
Had a big uplift in my fan mood after one win alone, next season my fixtures won't be so lopsided so the mood shouldn't take such a continuous hammering at least. Big game Sunday now though, my season rests on avoiding defeat to Sporting which should guarantee 5th place. £11k more in prize money, every little helps!
every little helps!
It does. My finances are very tight, so these things do matter. Even getting a friendly against a team with a big stadium can be the difference between a weekly profit or loss for me!

it's why i say not to buy older players to compete - i know it's a good feeling to compete and take people on, but your finances will never be in line to do so. focusing on flipping players, training players, knowing what makes a good player is more important imo since you'll always be in the prem, unless we suddenly have a mass influx of people that we have to compete with, which we wont. maybe for me the league winnings are next to nothing and maybe more value to you in your current state, but once you flip 1 youth, 1 young player you trained, get your first milly, 2nd milly, 10 milly, you'll see the league winnings are insufficient when we are in a low rated league with less human players.
it's one of the things i would change if i started again - play in a populated league, maybe the dutch league with my mate or english league for the prem vibes. just would be more fun to test more tactics too.

A cross British league setup would give us such a good structure but there's surely too much water under the bridge with the setup of the game at this point.
i mean the only downside for that is for new players joining - the only way to do it is for the user to select a region(country in this case) for their players + youth players to be, and lets face it, 100 random people signing up, how many will just choose england instead of wales, scotland, n.ireland, and probably ireland would be included cause i think they have like 10 players too.
it's probably needed/wanted if you want to go further in the game, but reality is, even britain isn't bothering that hard to compete in the champions cup because every other league is making at least 10x more than he is - obviously there are people who have played 10+ years and just accumilated the wealth without try harding but new players will always have a slow start, in most leagues, but if you're in wales for example, you will have a better transition to a decent team since you can rise to the top 3 in the prem within 3 seasons if you know what you're doing whereas if i'm in poland, i'd have a lot further to go but the end game is much higher since once you start going up the leagues, more money from games since vs human players, higher attendence and higher rankings, more fans blah blah.
edit:
another way to do it is to get rid of of seperate countries, just have a UK national team, and youth players are random nationalities, but for me it's not as fun.

7 shots to 22, some open goals. Lose 2-1. Sometimes sokker is just against you, can’t legislate for it. It’s a straight goal difference fight now to the end of the season.
You should change your tactic. First of all, playing 3 at the back in sokker is suicide. I ve never seen somebody winning something with 3 at the back. Second, even with this tactic you should ve won if everything else was alright. There is an issue if you got beaten by somebody who uses a standard tactic and one of thr striker who scored against you is 8 on pace
agree and disagree, doesnt matter if its a default tactic, players are still capable. but 22 shots and only 1 goal, happens to me even with a 16 strik, 15 tech, 17 form striker, shoots all day cant get a goal which leads me to think form is some real BS these days.
but his tactic is meant to be more like a 532 but hes placed it with aggressive fullbacks, my advice would be the same, when you don't have good enough players, keeping it simple works better, flat back 5, flat 3 mids, maybe 2 flat mids + 1 winger mid if you have one, then 2 strikers. can always swap it to 3 strikers, even 532 with an AM can be good.
right now 442 is popular also, 4 flat def, 2-3 flat mids, 1 winger, 2 strik, mixed with 2 flat mids, 2 ams/wide mids, 2 strik.
vs ai is your best chance to test ideas you may have, but you also have VIP, so getting some arcade games vs other VIPs will help you tweak as well.

Probably a bit unlucky... there are games when you watch and you just know it's going to be one of those days. That said, sporting aren't a bad team at all.
Regarding the formation, I do think wingback are very difficult to use in this game. If you think about how the behave in the real world it's very difficult to get players on here to act like that. It's also difficult to get other players to cover the space they can leave, which is a big part of playing wingbacks in real life.
Also worth considering that the team is still quite new, so plenty of players are probably lacking in some skill or other. This will improve in time....

All much appreciated cheers everyone! Back in the day I just had a consistent 4-3-3 I played against everyone, had some decent games early on with this tactic but agree it sort of lives or dies by the wingbacks which aren’t going to be good enough players this early on. Will be an exciting end to the season, I do have a tactic I’ve started but not finished in the back pocket so will see how that goes for next season - most of my players now are still the ones I got cheap to get out of Division 1 so slowly but surely upgrading them. Hoping for an exciting off season to close the gap further next season and all hopes pinned on a 16yo junior who’s coming through this week for a bit of cash, the market is dead at the moment though so not holding out a lot of hope!
At the top at least closing in on the business end now it’s all to play for, everyone has something to play for for the last few games.
