Subject: Cymru - Season 74
So much better being in the top half of the league fixture rotation - that month long run of playing you all in the top 4 home and away and losing each one absolutely decimated my fan mood.
Huge game to start against Sporting, absolutely has to be a win.

Not really sure what to expect from this season. I really hope all us human managers can beat cym this season!
I have strengthened a bit, which increased wage bill, then my trainees wages all went up and so now I’m probably spending too much on wages, so we’ll see how that goes.
Even with the additional players my ratings are not near the best two and watching blue drop a few million on players just highlights the challenge even further.
I hopefully will have some decent youths in a few weeks, so my plan is to train them. Not sure which of my current trainees will be moved on yet, but one or two will have to go to balance the books….

Think I might be a few seasons off that yet! Haven't added anyone yet but aiming to before Sunday. My wages went up more than I was expecting so I've stripped down the squad a bit, lots of work to be done before the season gets going though. Had a 16yo come in on Saturday with only a few weeks in the academy, and my two best juniors to come before the halfway mark which might be semi-decent so hoping to sell them on and raise some money to attack the second half of the season more.
All the best to our NT coaches for the season to come too!

well i believe there are no official games this season so just a bunch of friendlies, tough to be strict on us too since only 4/5 of us, 5 but sporting has never responded to anything.
we are very low on defenders, i've put 5 on assistente but only 3 of them i would prefer to play.
was hoping my mate picked up kitchen the defender sporting were selling but seems he was still sleeping, but i will message the guy and say i'll buy him in 2-3 seasons if he pops well.
Also the players i have that i was gonna train strik are turning 20, 21, so they won't get much of a chance to play strik for U21.
For GK we have 3 decent options but they don't have long for U21, mids plenty of options but they're also getting towards 21 but i'm keeping an eye on majority of players, so if you see random players getting called up, it's just so i can add them to assitente to watch their development.
Obviously as a nation of only 5 players we don't get 50+ people pumping out 1-2 wonderkids a season but we're not doing too bad.

I suppose it depends how willing people are to collaborate for this to work. I had wondered about suggesting some kind of agreement between us, but was a bit reluctant as doing to does constrain us a little, which may not suit some.
I think we would also need a bit of a clear idea of what we're aiming for. E.g., tge lack of defenders has been noted, but what kind of players do we want? How are we going to develop them? How do we decide which guys are the most promising etc.
I'd be willing to discuss something like this, but I think we also have to be able to promote people being able to play the game in a way that they are happy with, not feeling hemmed in etc.

it comes down to rng really, proctor was the last decent defender i got out of youth, hajgato can go def, i've been thinking about it.
Advanced training does make it easier from everyone to develop a bit of everything just gotta hope for something this season for defenders.
i'd rather you lot get settled with decent cashflow before having to focus on U21 development and as I said, no official games i believe so isn't that important but a season to develop players sine a lot of good 21 yos will be gone next season for whatever qualifiers we may have.

Adrian Rees has come on quite well under me so far, he quite regularly gets double pops which is definitely useful. I guess if we get our Welsh trainee pops recorded in here then that's useful as a start. Players still don't come up on the market too often, but we can get them recorded in here as they come up.
I've only got 5 players set to promote this season as it stands, but 3 empty spaces in my academy at the moment which ideally I can prioritise for 16-17 year olds. We've got time on our side, not like we've got a window of super talented players closing but I guess it's just the long game of what we can do over time!
Neil Brewer 17 adequate [6] outfield 4
Christopher Probin 18 very good [9] outfield 5
Daniel Rigden 16 adequate [6] GK 7
Ronald Leonard 18 solid [8] GK 8
Alec Duderly 18 good [7] outfield 13
2 of them being keepers is a bit frustrating!

Has Lee Batchelor developed? He seemed to have a decent talent when in my academy. I would have trained him, but at the time just couldn't fit him in.
generally i keep 2 or 3 per rotation, especially if one has decent potential, we will be short of keppers in 2 seasons and i have none in my academy right now.
It could be better but could be worse - he’s not specialised into a position yet and he’s glacially slow but he pops at a decent rate so I’ve got some hope for him.
16 year: 22 points
17 year: 29 points
18 year: 37 points
this was the old "talented scale" or how i know my player will be expensive. I think now with advanced training it should be a little more.
so at the end of this season he should be getting 37 SUM without stamina, which is not impossible but unlikely if he isn't talented, but he popped this week to 27 SUM so every chance he can get there.

I know this is a bit off topic, but whoever decided that recruiting coaches through this "lottery" system was a good idea is the stupidest person alive.
What on earth were they thinking? "How can I make a non interesting aspect of this game, like selecting a coach, not only infuriating but can it also completely drain the already tight funds of teams?"
Complete idiocy. Honestly, this kind of thing is why the game struggles to hook people in. I imagine loads of people like the tactics and match engine, but every other aspect of this game is such a slog....
