Subject: Cymru - Season 74

A 1-0 loss to Cym, they missed a penalty but we had some really clear chances to score before their goal. Was never out of it but frustrating not to pick up a point. As an aside, that is the worst pitch I’ve played on by a million miles!

I think my pitch was always like that!

I have sold all trainees (and a few others) and bought new. They will be terrible against all human teams, so will just have to suck up a number of losses for the greater good.

Hopefully will still finish high enough to avoid getting relegated by outscoring the bots.

The curse of cym strikes again! If a game is close they always seem to just get on the right side of the result.

You made some nice profit on a few of those players - what are you investing the money into there? I'm desperate to try and increase my stadium again but I need ticket revenue to break even week on week at the moment. I've got a small amount of money in the bank as a buffer for weeks where we'll lose money but I don't want to drop into debt to try and recoup it that slowly. So much of Sokker is a game of patience and having things ever so slightly beyond your grasp is frustrating!

You'll be 6th at worst though with the players you have and even then you'd probably have to lose to me and Sporting twice so I think you'll be much better off than you still think. It's a shame to have the extended bot sections of our season but it does give you that buffer to train players at least.

Yeah, bit of a mixed bag, but most went as expected. The guys who got messed up due to the coach recruitment nonsense went for very little, but I expected that. Kaplon went for hardly anything, but I also kind of expected that as he was a bit unbalanced and not that talented, so didn't have as high skills as you'd want for his age... but he was a club legend due to performances that often seemed way above what I could expect from his skill levels, so he'll be missed...

I've updated one stand of the stadium and possibly will do more of that depending on how things go.

I want to improve assistant and junior coach as well.

I won't buy any new players as it just doesn't seem worth it when my defence will be so weak. I might get rid of a few of the higher wage players over the next few weeks as well.

The rest if the money i guess will just sit there for a bit.

Hopefully in a few seasons I'll be back to being a bit more competitive....

And yes, this is a game of extreme patience.... and insane amount of patience!!

would anyone be interested for me to write a few short guides on things people want to know more about? where it's training, coaches, tactics, skills, whatever?

the ones available are good but a bit drawn out.

If you're offering it's always a help! Some of the game is unchanged from my previous stint but plenty has changed or I've forgotten so it's always useful, especially if we target it at Cymru as the general ones are much more Poland/big country-centric. We're all in the Premier so we've got some advantages that they don't have to worry about at least.

Yeah, that would be good. A lot of stuff doesn't really get explained about training.... like hiw much does it slow down as players get to certain ages and are there still times when it is worth training players 25+ etc.

Coaches are a bit mysterious too. Like, what impact do assistents actually have at each level etc.
2025-07-09 23:54:41
It's about 8% decrease per age and per skill.
2025-07-09 23:55:52
But as well documented pace is significantly slower to train about 50% slower. I don't want to steal Blue's thunder. If your guides are good. Do I have permission to distribute them in Scotland. Not that we have any interested newbs atm?

i mean you can, i don't claim to be an amazing teacher though, just writing what i've experienced and read. i was going to do a similar to one in the main forums but it's a lot of work and i assume most wouldn't even read it / need it.

I don't like reading too much. It's off putting.
Writing a brief guide is a skill.

A 0-6 loss in the cup, aside from being dominated in the midfield I don’t think we played too badly. Derailed from 3-0 at half time as my keeper conceded a cross, then threw 2 into his own net and rounded it off getting a 25 day injury with the last play of the game picking the ball off the floor. Less than ideal even with bots next up!

Surprising win for me, especially to be so dominant even with the trainee defenders. Should have scored more tbh.

Little Britain next, so I imagine they’ll score like 20 against these guys!

A 6-1 win which was a margin I wasn’t really expecting! Will definitely be reshuffling my squad at the end of the season with some new trainees and to sell on some of the ones who I have now, but I’m absolutely pinning my season now on the return game with Cym. If I can win that it could be a 3rd place finish and that extra £50k or so in prize money compared to last year is at the very least an upgraded stand for me.

i've been impressed by both of your tactics.
looking at your teams, for once form was the factor. 8 shots from 3 form striker vs 12 shots 18 form striker, still 18 vs 11 shots - plenty of chances for both sides.
