We will play in Group C in the World Cup qualifiers, our opponents are Romania, Hrvatska, Sverige, as-Saʻūdiyya and Tūnis.
Before the start of the qualifying matches, we will be tuning in a match against Nigeria.
I’m just getting to know the squad. My first impression is, it’s clear that there are some areas where we are quite strong, but also others where we could be a bit stronger. It’s also obvious that we have good prospects: many of our players are between 23 and 28 years old and still very much coachable. Unfortunately, friendly international matches do not provide any additional training. I will be monitoring their playing time at their clubs, although these days most managers prefer to hide their players skills because they are afraid of injuries during international matches.
I will try to get the best out of our team.

Good win, probably unlucky not to score a couple more.
Definitely a big step-up comming in opposition. Feels like we're going to need to shape up a bit more defensively for a while.
If we can make ourselves tough to beat then perhaps we can spring some suprises.

We led twice, but we couldn't hold on at the end of the second half. Due to the absence of several valuable substitutes in our NT and due to the difference in value in favor of the opponent, today we failed to produce a surprise in Train in Vain Arena.

Hard luck on the result but well done to take the lead twice against such a high ranked team - not a bad start to the campaign at all!

In the meantime, I am monitoring our national team players’ minutes at their clubs, the development of the younger ones, and the decline in abilities of the older ones. Overall, I can say that all of our players are getting adequate playing time at their clubs. The younger ones have also been developing since the start of the season. For example: Ansley +2 technique, Curtis (goalkeeper) +1 speed, Ewunce +1 passing, Newmann +1 passing, Nicholas +1 technique, Proktor +1 playmaking, Robinson +1 defending, Yates +1 passing.
Williams has become our best striker; congratulations to his club coach, who is enthusiastic and supports his participation in the national team - unlike the other one, who would do anything just so I leave his player out of the national team!
Unfortunately, our players form is generally low. This is something we cannot really influence; many people complain about this in the sokker game.
I hope we can get throught our next matches without any injuries with the best possible results.

My hope is to keep training Curtis for a few more seasons at least. His wages are probably going to be a bit of a problem for me though.
He's also put of sync with my 18y/o trainee keeper, who i'm hoping will be decent for the U21s.... so decisions will have to be made soon....

Today we hosted Sweden, the group leaders and the team that beat Romania. We managed to pull off a huge scalp with our 1–0 victory.
Out of my two tactics prepared for today, we only used one: the disciplined defensive setup and counter-attacking game worked well. The second tactic would only have come into play if the opponent had taken the lead.
Unfortunately, our three red carded players and the injuries may have an impact on our next match. But we move forward!
