Subject: Season 76

Started with a good win, so happy about that, as form wasn't great in some areas and had to turn to trainees.

Next league game is against Blue, who's ratings look pretty good right now, so not expecting any joy there.

Before that, i will get detroyed in international cup... that whole thing is just going to be pain for me....

Well played a well earned win! I don't think I'd have come away with a result after the early stages but the red card certainly finished that off. Hoping that I should be on par for 4th anyway this season, still playing the long game at the moment but my team is going to need some investment probably through this season or next now.

as i said for a while now, you both have set up good tactics, and that's half the battle. anything can happen, you'll both win the league a lot sooner than i ever did

Honestly, getting past you and britain just feels impossible right now. I'll just try and see what i can do and enjoy the game.

As predicted, smashed in international cup. To be honest we did ok first half, only being 1-0 down and having a chance or two. I think stamina suffered second half, plus Curtis went off injured.

Tbh, if this was not in arcade mode i'd be putting useless players out, as it's just an injury risk with no chance of winning.

Perhaps it will be better once i've been relegated to a lower level.

lost 3-1 with a random tactic i made in 5 mins, scoreline was certainly easy on me as i should have lost by a lot more - but also should have had a few more shots. my attackers deciding to tiki taka around their box instead of shooting, just good lines to block off their vision for shooting i guess

0-11 win for me over a long term user rebuilding with trainees. I think 3rd will be where I sit comfortably in my group.

3-0 loss against Blue. Very comfortable for them, but got all of my training done.

I see that Britain did to pheonix what they did to me a couole of seasons ago, where every shot just seems to fly in.... unlucky Rhys, just stick to your training plan.... we'll get them one day!

An absolute pasting for me! The fans aren’t happy bringing in the new year - could be the second manager to go after Chelsea!

Not sure quite what direction to take it in at the moment - only been able to bring in one new trainee this season so far and not bring the money in either. Think I’ll still be in 4th comfortably but bad fan mood really hurt the attendance there, without maximising the 3 big home games it’s tough to get the money in to reinvest.

Back to taking beatings from LB.

The goals we gave away were pretty poor, but i guess tgese things happen when so much of the play is in your half.

The terrible form of my senior defenders didn't help, which left my trainees trying to do a job. With the best will in the world you can't make up for when the opposition just has better players.

And that was the main thing here, LB's players are so much better than mine.

well it was britains first new tactic in a while that i've seen, but funny we both had red cards and scored more after the red cards. seems a 3-2-3-2 with the 3 mids + 2 attackers overloading the middle, so 4 at the back can struggle especially when you are playing your youngsters which is more important. having a wider winger can be effective vs tactics that push their wingbacks forward, i remember until i had decent wingers in my team, britains central def was always good enough to cover the ground any way but i feel like it can be achieved still.

I think you make a good point about overloading the centre of the pitch. Their players were good enough to dribble past may midfielders a number of times. That caused problems as my central defenders then stepped up to tackle their mids, but my wing backs did not step up. This meant that whilst they didn't create tons of chances, the chances they created were mostly very good chances.

In terms of my attack, my attacking players aren't great. I just can't afford players of the level to beat LB or yourself just yet.

My mids also were just too slow in getting ball forward. There were chances to play my striker in, but they just waited too long and got tackled.

I think i will need to do another cycle of selling these trainees for a profit and then build a team out of the next batch that can challenge you guys, based on developing some strong players, but also adding to that by purchasing some high quality older players.

This game is a very slow process!

it's all about trying things too, for many seasons i always played defensive vs britain, even when i paid for good players + developed good trainees.



this was a formation i used many many seasons ago, there was a 12 rating difference at that time i believe - i lost 2-1 but my 2 shots vs his 25 shots.
Sure i was dominated but as you and rhys both know, stealing a win is totally possible whether it's us putting in younger players or exploiting our weaknesses in the tactic.

last season i was mainly running a high line to get the most out of offsides, especially vs britain, this season i'm experimenting more with a "rushing line".

I'd not seen the idea of a rushing line before.

I would try different tactics, but i'm always on here on my mobile; rarely anything that allows me to create tactics.

Will take a 5-0 - half as bad as last week’s defeat! Not had the chance to be online very much over the weekend but back in routine now and more able to do stuff Sk wise now as well! Looking forward to repairing my goal difference for the next few games now
