Subject: Youths
It feels like my youths have been rubbush for a long while now.
At thw beginning of this season i git a level 14 coach. I was hoping that would help but still waiting for that impact.

I’ve had a weird season where I somehow ended up with a gap of about 10 weeks with no juniors coming through. From a few weeks time it’s a production line again with one every 2-3 weeks but the whole of this season so far has just been quiet.
Edward Piper, age: 16
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 5 250 £
wage: 255 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 185 cm, weight: 75.5 kg, BMI: 22.06
hopeless [1] stamina tragic [0] keeper
hopeless [1] pace poor [3] defender
hopeless [1] technique poor [3] playmaker
poor [3] passing tragic [0] striker
This close to the end of the season and with that skill split I don't think he's going to be salvageable as anything even at 16 unfortunately - might leave him in for training over the next week or two though to see if he does anything. The other juniors I have to come through are somewhat better at least

Don't think he's going to be that great with his skills distributed like that.... not sure what i will do with him just yet....
Could make him into a winger I suppose? You can double down on his pace, if he's getting to the byline and whipping it in then solid passing won't need much touching from 16. What a shame that that's so high compared to the rest though!
if keeping train pace or tech, see what side pops, would be mid or winger imo, could go strik but the side pops on passing from so young could take him pretty high, he seems to have ok talent, 23 SUM, should hit the 29 threshold by the end of next season easily if talent is half decent.
i’d sell now, unless you know he has a very good talent, his SUM is pretty low.
I'll list him but see how he goes - he was only in the academy 3 weeks and didn't improve!
I'll have to think about which trainees to get rid of to accomode him... that is the hardest part!

honestly, if he has decent talent, he should pop whatever skill you train him in next week - then 2-3 weeks after that, even passing would take 3 weeks at most. don't think turning 17 will effect it too much but if he doesnt follow that pattern, he may not be worth it, but thats sokker i guess, take a chance and see what happens. if your other talents have been doing fine and not slowing down too much dunno if it's worth disrupting it, always your choice though, funny how we all got a 16yo 2 weeks before season ends.

most likely a defender but no idea on talent, have a free spot so will have to see.

I have a youth who will promote in 3 weeks (at 18.1 years). His level will be 7, but his talent is 3.7 (which SKtables says is a "super talent").
Is he likely to be any good, or is the low starting level probably a non-starter?

depends how long he's been in for, the longer a player is in, therotically they will have higher sum for that level.

using this, if i have a player for 7 skill for 3 weeks in a row - his total sum should be around 21, now if i put 10 weeks, it goes up to 22.
if sktables is saying that then it means his talent is for sure 3.7, or as close to it as possible and i would say it's worth your time assuming the distribution is suitable enough.
starter? probably not, but lets just say hes a def, if he comes out 8 def, 2 pace, 5 tech, 5 passing, 3 pm, unlikely to be as good as that but that's a pretty good distribution. and since you get him early in the season, you can gurantee he's popping at least 4 times in whatever skill you're training him that season. it's also dependant on what you're already training / planning to train, sometimes it isn't worth disrupting 8 other players training to around 1 guy, if he had higher level, 3.5 or better talent, maybe i'd shuffle my training around for him.

Thanks. I guess i will just have to see how he comes out. It's difficult as i have what i think are some decent trainees and i've been training them a while, so it's hard to switch when it seems that you get peanuts for half trained players currently.
depends what you want to do. i usually left some half decent trainees stay around, usually nostalgia reasons, then if i feel the market is cooking i’d drop them off. the prices right now are inflated for the most part, they are a bit more calm for now, but if you have 21,22yos you’re thinking of selling or moving on, they will only get less valuable as they get older, especially if they are not popping as good.
