Subject: Youths

Not sure what i will do with these two. I have a trainee slot, as the striker i'm training seems to have terrible talent, so i'm cutting my losses with him.

Initially i thought i would go with the 16 y/o but maybe the spread of skills is better on 17 y/o?

Either way, at least one of them will be listed later as i don't have room for both.

Yeah I'd say Hunter's skills are better balanced but a season's worth of extra training on Norris should pull him up a little. I doubt you'd get the balance on him that Hunter has in that time though.

Dylan Lockley, age: 17
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 18 300 £
wage: 375 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 185 cm, weight: 80 kg, BMI: 23.37

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
adequate [6] pace unsatisfactory [2] defender
adequate [6] technique tragic [0] playmaker
unsatisfactory [2] passing weak [4] striker

Lockley came out as solid - talent 3 to 3.7 (unconfirmed) and set quite nicely for a striker. I've already got Cesterfield so don't really need him with one striker trainee already but he's well balanced. Could be tempted to sell if he's worth something and ideally to someone who'll train him.

Ryan Campbell, age: 16
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 3 150 £
wage: 240 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 168 cm, weight: 70.6 kg, BMI: 25.01

tragic [0] stamina tragic [0] keeper
hopeless [1] pace unsatisfactory [2] defender
unsatisfactory [2] technique tragic [0] playmaker
hopeless [1] passing hopeless [1] striker

Came in 3 weeks ago, was unsatisfactory the whole time and dropped to tragic this morning. Will list him, frustrating though to lose a 16yo to a drop like that!
2026-01-30 19:15:26
Had a 16yo adequate GK in today, only 4 weeks until he promotes as well! Will see what the market is like for GKs in a few weeks but I’m very tempted to keep him. Rodney Leah is the same GK rating as my first choice keeper, just a fair bit slower, but realistically I’m not going to get higher than 3rd or likely 4th in the next few seasons and I’m quite comfortable with that. Might sell on my first choice, use Leah in goal and keep this youngster on as a trainee keeper.

Rodney Leah out injured for 3 weeks as I was about to make him first choice. Wonderful news.

2 more in today:

Came in as brilliant, talent of just under 4

Matt Claridge, age: 20
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 73 350 £
wage: 960 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 174 cm, weight: 75 kg, BMI: 24.77

adequate [6] stamina unsatisfactory [2] keeper
solid [8] pace solid [8] defender
good [7] technique hopeless [1] playmaker
poor [3] passing excellent [10] striker

The scourge of the junior Welsh Premier, he’s a really nicely well rounded striker it’s just a shame he’s 20! Hoping with good talent he’ll keep popping though. Tempted to keep him and move on one of the 17yo from last week who will sell for more.

Popped to solid this morning, talent given as 3-6 but only had 6 weeks in the academy

Anthony Mash, age: 17
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 31 050 £
wage: 465 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 181 cm, weight: 73.6 kg, BMI: 22.47

hopeless [1] stamina weak [4] keeper
very good [9] pace tragic [0] defender
hopeless [1] technique hopeless [1] playmaker
weak [4] passing hopeless [1] striker

A much needed keeper, great pace for a 17yo but not a particularly good keeper. I’ll keep him for a few weeks until my other keeper promotes and then choose one to keep and one to sell.

Stu Cherry, age: 17
club: Train in Vain, country: Cymru
value : 11 550 £
wage: 300 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 185 cm, weight: 87.8 kg, BMI: 25.65

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
average [5] pace hopeless [1] defender
poor [3] technique average [5] playmaker
hopeless [1] passing hopeless [1] striker

Similar, but not quite as good, as the 17 year old I had last week. I have no idea of talent. I think I will have to sell, I just don’t have the training spots… that’s if anyone wants him….
2026-02-12 09:17:51
Kenneth Taroni, age: 16
club: Train in Vain, country: Cymru
value : 2 700 £
wage: 240 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 189 cm, weight: 90 kg, BMI: 25.2

hopeless [1] stamina tragic [0] keeper
hopeless [1] pace tragic [0] defender
hopeless [1] technique hopeless [1] playmaker
tragic [0] passing unsatisfactory [2] striker

Bit of a weird one. His talent is certified by SKTables as 3.1-3.7 and shows him as a potential "super talent", but surely his current levels are too low for me to take him on?
2026-02-12 09:45:35
How long was he in the academy?
2026-02-12 10:08:48
He was in for 8 weeks. Here's a link to the SKtables thing:

Talent: 3.1~3.7 certified ✓

Fair play - may be worth keeping him for a few weeks then? If he's that talented and on advanced training he should just keep popping every week, it should soon be apparent if he isn't that talented!
2026-02-12 13:37:01
has talent for sure but realistically? he won't get to a top top level but he may just keep popping and side popping that he can meet an ok level. just too much to train overall for whatever position you want him. defender is the easiest choice since you only really need to pop that pace + def, then if he get s o good levels you switch to tech much later on.

That is my thought on it. It was all a bit of a suprise, i think his talent was quite a wide range last week. But i just think there is too much work to do, so i will see if i can sell him.

I have an 18 y/o with 3.4-3.6 talent at level 11 in 4 weeks, so i'm hoping he is decent.

I also have two 16 y/o players in 2 weeks. One of them should be level 8 or 9, so hopefully some more options to come.

How long was he in the academy?

2 in today, first one came out as good as a keeper:

Aaron Bromage, age: 16
club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
value : 24 750 £
wage: 360 £
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 173 cm, weight: 73.7 kg, BMI: 24.62

unsatisfactory [2] stamina average [5] keeper
weak [4] pace tragic [0] defender
tragic [0] technique tragic [0] playmaker
good [7] passing tragic [0] striker

Second at very good - killed by his distribution though

Neil Thompson, age: 18
* club: HDFC Phoenix, country: Cymru
* value : 29 100 £
* wage: 480 £
* very good [9] form
* tragic [0] tactical discipline
* height: 188 cm, weight: 92.9 kg, BMI: 26.28
*
poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
tragic [0] pace adequate [6] defender
tragic [0] technique solid [8] playmaker
poor [3] passing adequate [6] striker

I’ve got Anthony Mash from a few weeks ago also at average GK - anyone fancy a Welsh keeper trainee? I’ll sell one and keep the other, neither are massively talented in terms of their pops in the academy but Bromage is already as good as Mash at GK at least. Might sell for more though?
2026-02-19 19:41:59
The 16 yr old keeper is a fantastic youth, congratulations.
2026-02-20 01:39:45
Thank you very much - I think realistically I have to cash in on him to keep re-investing!
2026-02-20 13:18:03
It feels like we're getting some good young players coming through. Hopefully thus will translate into results for the u21s in a couple of seasons.
