I've set myself up to train stamina so now I plan to see how things pan out before planing my next moves.

Its a good plan to train stam until you get to grips with the game but you may wanna decide what you gonna train longterm asap and get the trainees in rdy so they get the stam training aswell.

What is your head coach like?

Head Coach:
unearthly of stamina, unsatisfactory of keeper
incredible of pace, excellent of defender
incredible of technique, incredible of playmaker
excellent of passing, incredible of striker

I would buy some trainees but:
I have no idea what makes a good one
I have no idea what they are worth, or what I can afford to spend

I also don't know what style of team I would like to adopt.

He would make a nice assistant coach for a prem team :P

However, I dont think he is a good coach for a new team :(

He is a nice assistant coach which someone can use as head coach just to train stam as he has nice secondaries to help with rdm pops but he aint very good as a head coach for anything else except stam.

He is also gonna cost way too much for a new team and will most likely help in sending you bankrupt :(

I was following RobNobs Newbie guide and he turned up when I was hiring a coach - he seemed suitable for training stamina so I kept him...

those wages seem way too high to me for a team thats just started.

I've just ahd a quick gander at robs guide I think you might have misread a part of it.

The coach shown is his (he's a former English prem side and still at lvl II) and not really suitable for a team right at the beginning fo the game.

As you will see in the example above that coach is a great Stamina coach, as he`s Unearthly of stamina. He`s also quite good elsewhere, but that`s not important for you in the early stages, when money is very very tight.

So in conclusion:

Head Coach: High in individual stats.

I would suggest biting the bullet and firing that coach and get one with one high (unearhtly) skill in the area you would like to train.

we all learnt by making mistakes though and tbh non of the Welsh managers are much good :)

It wasn't a misread - more that I got him by complete accident and thought he looked like an OK coach!

Is it not worth trying to sell him on rather than fire him?

You cant sell a coach, so would be better find a cheaper coach for you at the moment. Welcome to sokker :-)

Ah, right - I just assumed you would be able to as you could buy them!

What sort of skills should I look for in a new coach then?

I would search for a coach, with unearthly stamina, and other skills around good, you can try that on coach, skills select, and then put these skills as option and the system will bring one for you. The wage i think would be cool at max 4k week

We've been expecting those to drop for a while now so no great loss. We may have lost those but we have also gained some active managers. Out of the 26 we got now, i'd say 3 or 4 may be at risk but the rest are pretty established and active managers.
