young?
Park Ji-Sung?
The 29-year-old?

Oh forgive me, I forgot.

Young compared to Ryan Giggs.
He joined just after coming off the battlefield at Hastings didn't he?
2011-02-20 15:51:34
and you sold Tosic :P

Obertan is crap (and Owen agrees)
and Bebe is a tramp

Obertan did well yesterday but i dont like him. Bebe tried to do too much yesterday so was crap...

Park was young when he joined, but we produce from young, we hardly ever import oldish players.

unfortunately, no-one ever hears these names anymore:
David Jones
Liam Miller
Kieran Lee

Chris Eagles and Kieran Richardson were the lucky ones. Man United start bringing players through the ranks, then get bored of them.

Man United's youth system is nothing compared to Arsenal's

The only ones that really came off well are Guiseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique and Ryan Shawcross.

and they were made great by the club after Man U.

Oh, and what nationality are Obertan and Bebe? I don't hear Kevin Obertan or Gary Manuel Dias Coreira being spoken about...

The only ones that really came off well are Guiseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique and Ryan Shawcross.

Giggs, Scholes, Neville....

I'm talking about now, the Academy has changed in 20 years
2011-02-20 18:49:46
i know, but we are buying players young and training them up. I know Fabio and Rafael may be a pain in the ass but they are good and improving youngsters.
2011-02-20 21:32:26
lol, Rossi was at United for 1 year
you can as well say that Newcastle 'raised' him
2011-02-21 04:58:02
oh pretty boy,,how many times should tell you to read well first before you wrote?

i said, in the last 5 years. united didn't buy ji-sung yesterday afternoon... *sigghh

and united academy has changed? LOL :D
c'mon, does everyone know where juniors from l'pool are playing right now after being release? only owen or murphy who could easily cross the mind
meanwhile, you could find where juniors from united are playing right now so easily. almost of barclays premier league club have ex-united youth players in their team.

and why united release them? so they could have more playing time to fulfill their full potential.. look what pique, shawcross, rossi, campbell, catchart, beardsley, simpson has become after being given other place in fulfilling their potential :)

Park Ji-Sung was-what, 25 when you bought him? That doesn't count as young to me.

I know that the Liverpool academy isn't very strong, but if you READ I never actually said it was. I said Arsenal's Academy is the best, which it is by a mile. Yes, there are teams with ex-Man U players, but how many of them play for their country on a regular basis, especially while at Man Utd?

Last paragraph is stupid. Pique, Rossi, Shawcross, Simpson and Campbell all made their names outside of Man U, without Barca and Villarreal Pique and Rossi would be no-hopers. Shawcross made his name at Stoke. No-one had heard of Cathcart before he went to Blackpool. I just hope that Gibson and Welbeck get out ASAP before a repeat of Rossi stuck behing RVN happens to them with Shrek and sulking cheat king.
2011-02-21 13:10:05
Gibson is doing great under Man U, as is Rafael, Smalling and Fabio.
2011-02-21 13:27:59
Is Gibson starting? How old is he now, 23?
2011-02-21 13:32:28
thats young rhys..
2011-02-21 13:35:58
I know, but he's a mid, who's behind a past-it player like Scholes who can only handball and get sent-off now, and stuck behind Giggs, who's just signed a contract extension despite the fact that he's 107. If Man U aren't careful, they'll do a Chelsea and be stuck with an old squad.

The reserves hardly looked strong against Crawley...
2011-02-21 13:36:29
yeah, but how much did they all cost?

Man U have bought success, always have apart from that one generation and always will do
