Subject: »[info] Dev Diary #76: Nothing is Certain Except Taxes

The big problem is that if you get good juniors easily, market would create inflation.

Its quite the opposite ^^ You need some economic practice :-) Inflation is already here for years. There r e a lot of cash in many teams (and usually the less competitive) and we got around 5% only of valuable young players. A lot of cash + rarity = Inflation. 10M€ now, for a top young player it was absurd few seasons ago. But now a max skill player can be sell 15-20M€ and if it follow this logical growth in few seasons top skilled players will cost 20-30M€. If we don't stop this, we need to loose many many (rich) users to stop the inflation "naturally".

His wage was really low: 51 000 $. It could pay off in a very long term

trainer/trainerID/10144346

But with the expected changes this could not be the case anymore

Why would you fire a coach that good :/
2020-09-12 14:15:51
Becasuse you just joined the game and play in V perhaps?

Which is also strange. Why would you look for that kind of trainers if you just start in the game? :)

You're right, I don't know what I was thinking, I study a lot and sometimes I don't think anymore xD.
I know perfectly what it's.
I wanted to say that players will lost their value, not the money, and you won't get money for good players. Everyone could have good juniors, it's not exciting.

2 years ago I bought a ET trainer with 57k salary for around 7M€.

20M€ is too much, even with this salary.

One way that has been tossed around for many years is have the wage linked to how much they are bought for.

So the idea would be say 1% (this is not a fixed number, just an example) of their transfer price is added on to the base wage for their subset of skills.

This would mean say the 3xSD strikers that seem to be selling for 15 625 000 $ with the base wage of 37 500 $ would now have a salary of 193 750 $ per week. This would quickly make people think twice about how much they are buying players for, and act as a money sink for those who feel they can still afford it.

Anyway, it wasn't my idea, and has been around a long time, but it seems like a useful money sink to me, and a way of reigning back in the transfer market a bit. It could even be combined with like a loyalty bonus, where for every season they are with you, they become 1% cheaper.

yep good idea, wages could be a % of the trading adding to the skills calculation. Not sure that's resolve the inflation, but a good start.

damn where are all those money in the game why I do not have any :(
cause game do not encourage at all focus on training NT players and try to compete ..
training 10 slots NT stars and not selling them for profit definitely . and now this for me cosmetic change for youth will hit more those users that play the game only to pull NT youngster.
cause not all teams can become champions it's just not possible without reset
but we do not want reset and wipe 10 to 15 y history
for me only progress financially is trade getting money from people that train hard is a cynic change..

Depends on what these costs are (not the fixed ones, but the regular maintenance costs). If its expensive, it's going to destroy small countries that already get the short end of the stick with less sponsorship. This will then turn the game possibly into an even more unbalanced game where the haves continue to increase the list of advantages they have over the have nots. Need to be careful here when dealing with changes to core mechanics. If the transfer market signficantly falls in price (as oppose to stabilise), and the costs for maintenance/extension of youth facilities becomes unaffordable for those in lower userbases that could easily create 1st world and 3rd world scenario in sokker. On the other hand, too little costs and it has other issues as everyone upgrades and it barely makes a dint because you actually get rewarded for the money sink with additional money making opportunities. Tricky sitution to balance.

As it stands the only thing stopping me from competing with everyone in youth schools is whether I can afford a wage of a coach. If this changes to not only needing to support a wage but also not being able to afford the same coach level I can currently this might become a problem.

Interesting concept, but will reserve final judgement for the actual implementation.

Will 4 weeks transfers limitation be applied from this season? When?
And will it affect players who we sign before implementation?

Probably soon, it was planned from the season start, but we have a short delay (vacation period).

(In aside) I can't follow this topic, I can't follow it because the subject changes with each devs announcement but we have all the discussions since the beginning... It would be better to recreate a topic for the last announcement and to archive the previous one.

Well, we know it's not perfect solution - just try to track last dev diary - staff always announce new article - creating dedicated topics for every single DD could be even more confusing, and we have also some "neutral" news sometimes, with not to much discussion).

(another In aside and reminder) The number of "accepted idea" is really poor. As I was suggesting devs topics need feedback.

That's true, i will try to do it.

In short, nice intention.... however in practice, richer teams will pay any fee to upgrade all facilities... poor teams won't have that option .... This change is increasing the existing GAP...

Well, its designed a bit different. You can pay more to have some extra bonuses, but they are not strong enough to block poor teams.
We belive (and we will adjust costs this way) that mid level will be easy to follow for majority of users, and you will be able to benefit from your youth school similar for some rich teams.

1. Campus - you can make a hard selection and you will never need more places than 20/25.
2. Analytics - you can track your junior talent as you do it now - or you can get back to old system - but only if you will pay more.
3. Scouting - more juniors to evaluate, but still - you need to pay more, will it be worth it for sure?
4. Training facilities (max coach level) - i really not so sure that appointing unearthly coach is so great decision as many think ;) sure, always better coach gives you better bonus, but as we announced before - we will reveal coaches efficiency, so you will be able to calculate your investment vs. real advantage.

And important message for all - i see some comments, why we decided to introduce youth academy, instead of some other proposals abouth youth - like competition system, or skills distribution - well, there is a lot to do about youth in sokker, it's only one change we are planning, not the last one:) youth academy is a starting point, it's smart, will give you chance for cosutimization and some strategy, and in the same time it's based on current solutions and mechanics, so it's evolutionary and easy to follow.

Perhaps the differences between the levels of scout service should be slightly increased:

Thay cant be to significant, it's designed to be a difficult decision to make.

some teams do not care about the coast when it comes to NT players and seems you again underestimate the power of NT communities

About Training facilities , what if you already has a magical trainer on the youth team, then the new system is implemented, does the trainer can not be assigned to the youth until you expand to level 3 in the Training facilities?.

yes, you will be able to use him for first team training, but he will not be able for youth school appointment.
But for sure we will add transition period to give a chance for preparation (like a season or two when you can start youth school expansion, but without bonus effects).
