Subject: [change] Setting prices on stadium places

I think we should go back to having default prices for the different places (terraces, benches and seats) and not being able to change them. It is just kind of nonsense to have big stadiums nowadays, as one could have a small stadium with very high prices and still earn the same income as one who has a bigger stadium. Besides, it is more expensive to have a big stadium as maintenance expenses are higher.

Another alternative could be limiting the range of price variation. Currently, the range goes from 1 $ to 250 $ which is way too much in my opinion. Limiting this range would avoid the situation of having big stadiums unnecessarily. Maybe +/- 20% of the default prices for each place could be better.

I like keeping the possibility of setting prices of tickets but I understand your concern.
Maybe just sensitive change of ticket prices : number of visitors ratio would be enough

In fact, the ticket price system is not adequately balanced and needs a remake, I agree!

Just balance it better

Please explain what you mean by this. I am in favor of any idea that would make it having a big stadium an advantage rather than a disadvantage as it is right now.

I've seen a great stadium builder in another game I've been playing for about a month. One in which you can expand your training area's, match stadium, shops, etc... Every aspect of the "stadium" improves something in your team!
It's also a good idea to set a maximum price for seasts in the stadium depending on the level of stadium you have. Bigger, more luxurius stadiums can have higher prices than small standard stadiums and so on...

+1 balance better.

I never tried to set max price and just thought about full stadium and full price is crazy. Good idea.

I agree it needs to be changed, but your idea can have great consequences for large stadiums if costs go up a lot.

It can also be solved with a fixed max price managers can ask, so small stadium can't ask redicoules prices anymore.

On the other hand, if Man United had a small stadium with 10k luxurious seats, many would pay redicoules prices to watch the game. Shortage makes people pay more. So in that case, a too low max prise will also makes it unrealistic.

I agree with Charles

+/- 20% for standard prices is near to 1-2 Euro variation. Near to nothing.
Will never cope with the variability of the weather nor with the supporters morale (let alone with the two variables combined) no matter the size of your stadium is.

It is like shooting in your own balls.

If bigger stadium would be a disadvantage everybody would still have 1.500 seat stadiums with 250 Euro prices. Does not seem like that.

I think that giant stadium are unable to maximize profit mainly for two reasons:
1 - they are poorly correlated with the size of the fan club (exceed the 1-10 ratio for a too large margin)
2 - they type of places are all the same (while the rules specify that the supporters prefer variability)

So, you will forgive me if I speak my mind, I think that the problem is that they are poorly managed, it is not the fault of the prices.

But if you tell me that you have 6.000 supporters and a 60.000 place stadium with 5 types of different places (armc.roofed-armch-grandstand-roofed grandstand-terrace) and you cannot get it full with maximum morale and best weather with an average of 10 euro per place, I would agree that maybe the system has something to do with that.

If not, rather than mess up with that I would leave it as it is.

The problem is that most of the people who have big stadiums now (above 40.000 seats) are people who built these stadiums before the update of changing ticket prices was done (I don’t remember the exact year this was implemented). That’s my case for example. I finished building my 60.000 seats stadium right before this update. Because of this update, there is no motivation to keep building big stadiums. And demolishing part of the stadium is just a waste of money (and it shouldn’t work that way). It is just none sense to be able to have better profits with a smaller stadium

I did not know of the later price modification.

But given the current system the injustice is not in the price mechanism, the injustice is to have introduced the price mechanism when the older player have reached high capacity stadiums on the base of fixed prices

to fix that, I would give to all the player that were in the game prior to the modification of the prices the freedom to downgrade their stadiums for free.

But I don’t think that’s the best solution.

With the current system, the most clever thing to do is to have a 20.000 seats stadium and just change prices accordingly. There is absolutely no benefit of having bigger stadiums. I am sure that a 20.000 stadium is more profitable than a 60.000 stadium with the current system, and that is just non sense.

As BlueZero said, some work needs to be done to balance the system. I just proposed some ideas to do so, they might not be the best, but at least I pointed out the issue which should be worked on

Maybe the mood of the supporters may also increase or decrease according to ticket price variation. And one can only change prices once or twice a week. This is just another idea to consider
