Subject: [idea] Protection against injuries
Injuries have always been a rather unpleasant part of this game.
We've all been through it, bought our new trainee superstar for a bunch of money and 3 days later he stumbles on a BOT's amateur pitch and is gone for the next 25 days. And guess what, there's nothing you can do about it!
This seems unnecessarily harsh. If the wrong player gets hurt it can cost you millions and some managers have even quit over this.
So most other manager games typically give you an option to reduce injury times or injury risk (yes, we can change pitch condition here but that doesn't protect us in away matches). You could hire a doctor, pay a one-time sum for a special treatment or build an infirmary that gives you long-term protection. There are a lot of ways you could implement this and it would always lessen the impact of these events.
And it's not just trainees that would profit, there have been CC finals in the past that seemed to be more about who has less injuries than about who has the better team. Cups and Championships shouldn't be influenced by these completely random situations.
If you're still not convinced I'd like to also point out that this would probably signal the end of that dreaded "send all players in one corner" tactic. How could anyone be against that? :)
Last but not least I'd recommend that injuries sustained during NT games are not permanent and get removed once the game is over. There have been countless arguments over the years between managers of strong teams who want to win titles and NT coaches who select players and put them in lineups without ever having to ask the club owners. If that was implemented no one would ever have to complain about their players getting nominated again.
So what are your thoughts on all this?

In game where training is based on players that play in games limited to slots injuries are not ok. Training is not as real world so injuries should not as well. Agree they need to be limited or able to heal faster.
I had 10 injuries in 4 games in a row mostly on training position this was tragedy and seems lot users went through this hell .. so if injuries reduced no one will event think to play safe

I think that blocking the injury at 15 days would be a good compromise. You miss 2 games, it's already penalizing, but only 1 or 2 training. It would be much less of a problem.
If in RL you die, do you ask God to change the ME because it's unfair?
Rather thank DEVs that players' career can't stop because of an injury... No one talks about this.
:D

No but someone talking about dieng in real life you should not tolerate as mod
I think you're overthinking this... it was metaforical and he has a point. 1 fact that makes Sokker so fun... the resemblance of irl football clubs and it's flaws.
Halving the time of injuries to 15 days is a possible solution but not my first choice.
I would rather prevent the Engine from giving more than a fixed total of (lets say) 35 injury days per official match and 15 days in friendly matches. So, for the official games you could have as a maximum a combination of a very heavy injury (30) + a light one (5), in a friendly game you could get one Medium Injury (15) or two Light ones (7+8).
For the dynamic of NT games I think that would be wrong to prevent players from getting injured, as they get training advantages and market prestige, which should be counter-balanced by some risk.
On the other hand, the managers SHOULD be able to choose if they want to run that risk, and, if the case, to refuse have their players selected for the NT, activating or deactivating the player's availability.
Of course this solution would have some impact on the composition of NT, and must be thought out carefully.

Don't worry. Several jokes of that kind are passing by... Either you laugh with it or you ignore it.
Not when we have decent proposal that joke neglected it +1 for injury limitation
It could be nice to reduce the average duration of injuries.
An idea is adding to the game a medical staff !
An idea is adding to the game a medical staff !
Injury system is very interesting to treat :
* How much injuries are relied to player's skills (form, defender, technique...) ?
* How much injuries are relied to pitch state ?
* How much injuries are relied to tactics used ?
* How much injuries are relied to hazard ?
Many factors are involved et maybe connected together to let an injury happen.
By adding a new system : medical staff, the idea is interesting but must be considered to be well-balanced to avoid too much advantages to teams with a lot of money (young teams will be disadvantaged for a long time without enough money to compete), hazardeous injuries has to exist as well (to keep a close to IRL).
For me, reducing long injuries with a medical staff could be a well-balanced compromise by using the same injury system used nowadays. Just adding :
* Take the risk to not use medical staff give you the opportunity to keep money to be stronger but give you the risk to get long injuries for your players and you must agree on this.
* Pay a medical staff will help to never had long injuries will help you to get always a good team in the field but you can't use this money for upgrading your team quicker and you must agree on this.
Only left the better money to use for a medical staff that keep the balance enough fair for all project.
