I think all skills should have their ceiling! And it should be invisible till you get there...
Let's say, a player has 6 pace to start with. Then his growing potential should be between 5 and 8, so you know, the maximum you can increase it's pace is till 11-14 max.
And this should also be for all other skills, except stamina. But this skill should drop easier than it does now...
Players should have 2 hidden "skills"
1) Talent... The skill we know now, which sets the "pace" of the growth of the skills.
2) Potential... This should be a hidden skills which sets the maximum number a skill can grow.
With this, you will have a more distinct difference between players, but it won't be obvious when he comes out of the youth. I also think each skill should have their own potential, so 1 skill should be able to rise more then another skill.
And I think, youth players should develop their skills based on this, so the higher their skills are, the better it's potential will be. This way it will be clearer, which kind of player a youth player might be and their skills will be less random. All players should have at least 1 position skill (right column) with the highest potential. But in return, the position skill should have more impact on how a player plays the game.
If he's slower, then he'll most likely be - or a central midfielder, or a tank player. With the decrease of divine pace players, slower, but stronger players can have more meaning. This way the BMI, length and weight can be of more importance...
It's a lot within 1 post, but I see potential in a more balanced ME...

No there aren't... Paralysed persons don't play soccer...

I think problem with pace is evident...

in new system maximum 10... it is a big difference!

so, objectively, we need to do something with Pace. Keep Pace training at 22 slot as now or, something else, like increase the starting minimum or double the ascent speed of skill.
Otherwise noone will train pace anymore...

They allready said the training speed of pace will be equalised with the other skills...
you don't get my point pace 0 for soccer players is not the same that for real people...
so pace 0 is just a name... you could think it differently slow (0-5) medium (6-10) quick(11-15) superb (16-18)
or just put the numbers, is just a name associated with a number...
we have never seen a fan running in the field to compare his pace with tragic pace,

This is a very good idea to make the overall training less linear and predictable.
Hope the devs will have a look at your proposal !

right now many, many players with top skill...
new system many, many players with same skill but not top...
so right now top striker is 18/18/18 or 17+/17+/17+
in new systeam will many many 16/16/16 and some 17/17/17
still same... many similar player and no difference....

on top having players with better skils gives better visual exp in viewer why we would want to make it worst ?
and more good players means more teams with good players else we will make few rich teams unbeatable ..
beuty of sokker is their tactics why we not focus on it and all to decide on the pitch
