Subject: [GD] League system - reorganisation
I agree with the table sent by slavista where he goes in for 14-16 weeks with international league instead of international cup. But if the international league is not possible, I'm still fine with international cup format with 12 weeks. I voted for option 3.
But somehow I feel, 12 weeks is too short. 14 might just be optimal.

Definitely think 14 week is perfect.
But all matches of the same type must be on its own day, and there must be no more than 3 matches per week

Yeah, 3 senior team matches/week is perfect and 1 junior game/week.
For the purpose of increasing the attractiveness of the Sokker for new managers, I would not change the concept of the duration of the season and the number of weekly matches, but would increase the starting finances or give better players. I was very frustrated when I watched for months the players shooting the ball into the stands instead of the closest teammate.
I think a good way to increase finances for new teams, without affecting previous ones, would be to give the initial 400k, then 8 weeks (half a season) they get another 400k, and then after 16wks (1 whole season) they get 200k.
This would mean they get some money to build and make mistakes with, a bit more after they have learned what is what, and a small bonus for sticking around 4 months.

Economics in the game is more difficult than you might expect. throwing additional money into the market would have to be balanced by additional or larger expenses elsewhere to avoid inflation in the transfer market.
nevertheless, a similar idea to yours will be checked on the test server;)

Thanks for the responses to my idea. I have checked all the feedback and saw that most of the users preferred the 14 weeks season (when I gave them options 14/15/16 weeks). Some users proposed to move the beginning of the National cup to week 2 and on Wednesday in week 1 move the Play off match. I found this idea great and I realized that both International League Play off and Domestic league Play offs could be played the same day. If someone would play both play off games, the impact of their first play off game that day could be eliminated (no injuries, no bonus training - like in arcade games today)
There was also a concern raised that If a team drops out of the National cup soon, it would play official matches only on weekend (Friday + Sunday). This is of course flexible. The playing days for National cup and the International league could switch for example
I am not the big fan of the International cup (IC) as it is proposed by Devs now. It looks chaotic and I see no relation between the last season IC and this season IC. Even if you won it, for the next season you would still be drawn in the IC by your ranking or average rating in league games. But I am not against the idea of the International Cup per se, it could still be applied to the schedule below. But there is a concern that early dropouts of both National Cup and International Cup would be left with just one official game per week as it is today.
The rest stays the same as I proposed here

I welcome any feedback, negative or positive. I was also thinking about moving the play offs to different days but rejected the idea for these reasons:
I would like the playing days to be consistent. If users know that they play every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the possibility of confusion is minimized. I don't like the idea of playing two days in a row because it forces users to be online more frequently to check the lineup because of the injuries.

This is the perfect schedule slavista!
It also allows flexibility with what happens after the National cup. It would be very easy to then add in an extra cup, after the national cup, based on region, once this was all up and running (for the small nations who have very short cups).
An example is Australia with 19 users. This is 5 rounds of the cup. +1 play off week, meaning taking up 6 weeks.
This leaves 8 weeks left over. You could play a 256 team cup after the national cup.
This would fit All AFC countries + NZ in to an AFC cup.
It would give enough room for all CAF (Africa) teams to have a cup
All of the CONCACAF (north and central america) teams would fit for a cup
The 19 small UEFA countries could have a cup in this time period.
So basically what I'm saying is this PERFECT plan by Slavista shortens, the season, fits all the leagues, has everything on their own day AND is still flexible enough to have a regional cup for all the smaller nations that don't have the luxury of a long cup

Your proposal is basically a trimmed version of the current system.
I don't like that the season ends in the middle of the week.
Also the end of the season would still be boring, only one game a week that might matter.

why 1 game?
you have international league and normal league which lasts all season long

Also, why is the day / match type exclusivity so important?
If we had auto-loading squad set-ups, would exclusivity matter less?

well I would prefer if there were no play offs but direct promotions/relegations only. But this is possible in in x2 division system (1st place promotion, 7th and 8th place relegation), not in the current x4 (when there are 4x more leagues in every lower division)
Oh, that is a league. My bad.
But who are you playing against though?
That would have a weird matchmaking. I don't see the appeal of paying in the league with random people, and then never playing with them again.
