Subject: [GD] Length of the Season - Announcement
Is it gonna be just 1 round, or will two top ideas go head to head in the final poll?
:)
:)
Cant tell :P you like slow game so much, so main info will be still on friday, just need to wait a bit ;)
Nope, I want 2x speed :D
But I can wait.
Just more pictures, less text :P

Yep - thats correct - with 12/13 weeks, slighty faster training could be an option (but ofc not +25%, rather... 10%?) - with 14 weeks - we will rather stay with it as it is now.
lowering the training of 15% / 12.5% per year must be introduced gradually.
Otherwise, at the time of the change, everyone will try to buy players around 21/23 years, who have acquired an incomparable advantage over the younger ones.

maybe it's a good idea to start right now to train a new 16yo generation of talents.. you'll end up with a treasure in few season..
Thank you for all the work on improving the game and the open communication. But frankly I'm getting the impression that devs are looking for a magic solution to make the game more attractive, and that is supposed to be shortening the season and adding more competitions. I think making the game too fast will actually make it less attractive for many managers.
Among other concerns, it will devaluate tactics which are an important part of Sokker because noone will have time to create tactics for 3-4 games per week. Also with the current match engine games are not very enjoyable to watch, so before that is fixed adding more games doesn't sound that exciting.
The opening post of this thread analyzes the problems very well, and only a small part of it is due to too few matches. There are a lot of less controversial and invasive steps that can be taken first:
- Have new managers start in a league with other humans instead of bots
- Make it possible for new managers to build a competitive team faster
- Make leagues more competitve and reduce the differences between league levels, for example by having only twice instead of 4 times the number of leagues on the next lower level
If you do want to add more matches, there are ways to do that without inflating the first team schedule:
- Let teams who are out of the national cup continue to play in lower-level cups
- Have reserve team leagues
- Have international cups or leagues as Arcade games
- Have women's teams
- Make youth matches and leagues more attractive

Is the concern with two league games a week or more than three official games a week? Because with 13 weeks you can increase the league to 12 teams and try to adjust to making 4 games a week difficult. For example, if league matches take place on Tuesday and Sunday, they will be on Sunday in weeks 1 through 12 and on Tuesday in weeks 4-13, Sunday of week 13 will be reserved for the play-off. In this option, as 2 league games start only in week 4, only 12.5% of the teams will be in the national cup, therefore, they will only have 3 games per week. The wednesday would be for the national cup and the friday for the international cup, the days are just an example.

I hope that they will be adjusting the training speed over several seasons.
If they reduce the seasons by lets say 25%, they should speed up the training by 33%, so that the players can get the same training over a season.
After that they should start gradually slowing down the training season by season.

Just many thx for time spent on communication ! Really !
it's not so easy.. users need to have correct information in advance to make correct schedules and plans
At the same time, we would like you to remember how crucial moment it is for Sokker's future. The game needs to be changed - currently we have little more than 10% of users from its heyday.
main problem why so many managers left is, that no one listened to them and there was no update (just on some rlly annoying bugs, not real work) since arcade games...that was 6-7 years ago...there was no problem with length of the week, lack of games and so on...just complete lack of communication....
but i guess there should be some international cup and some other changes...but putting it all on current league system is a bit not fair...

The reason was that Devs didn't listen users' wishes (even though they opened the Ideas and Suggestions topic for that and the Bugs / Ideas (en) forum was full of users' ideas back then) and decided to work on their own innovations.
Almost all of them turned out to be disasters (with exception of arcade matches) and the series of failures culminated with Inter Football Manager. Instead on Sokker, they worked on a new manager game that no one played at the end. After that the Devs went to a complete silent mode until now.
Users were stuck with the game that no one developed anymore. They didn't know that the game would even survive and no one believe in any further developments. That's why most of the people left.
I wish Devs learned from their mistakes. After all, 2 out of 4 were Devs back then.
