I liked the idea. but I believe that adding levels (18 to 20) is better. - and there should be a couple of seasons for it to start taking effect.
This can be seen as an equal with extra skills... but you'll only achieve it by reaching maximum and there's nothing in between
IMO GK is too high for now, there are a too much superdivine, it is not normal to have Divin GK at 20-21 years
As much as I don't think we need an extra skill (SD was only put in so you knew not to train that skill any further, as it is the max the game has), it would be a bit like dangling the carrot in front.
I also think that if it did come in to play, it should be a little harder to get than what the current curve is (like 1.5-2.0x harder than Divine to SD, but still only add the extra skill that one level would add).
It would certainly cut down on the number of max players, and make people think about whether secondaries would be better, or the extra skill level

I definitely prefer new skills levels (1 or 2) rather than slowing the training.
Agree, +1
I always tried to trained my players better and better, and it took me time until I had 2×18 DEFs first, or a 4×17 MID which made me proud and it was a very good feeling, one of the reason I liked to be here. If we slowing the training, all this achievement will be even harder and that's not what I wpuld call good perspective for new users. But if we remain at same training speed, make the season a little bit shorter, and add 1 or 2 more skill levels above 18, it should be enough for solve the problem, without changing the whole system too much.

@clarom do not forget that GK has only 2 slots with current training so they need to make same money as others ...

btw: admins plan to reduce the annual training amount to ensure we can't grow 3xdivine players.
So your solution seem not useful at all (imho).

Pace = Godspeed
Tech = Dribbler
Passing = Goldfeet
Def = Powerhouse
Playmaker = Leader
Striker = Marksman
For GK I should implement a secondary ultimate skill:
So a GK with superdivine pace = Reflex GK
GK with superdivine tech = Sticky Gloves
GK with superdivine passing = Counter Specialist
These extra features could make it interesting to "mix" these skills with other positions...
A powerhouse striker would be a great asset next to a Godspeed winger for example...
.. and then introduce achievements and when you reach a goal like this you get an award.

We still can grow 3x divine strikers after the update, cause though the season will be shortened a bit, they'll slightly raise the training speed. Thing is that with this feature you need to choose wether you want a player who's overall good but doesn't excell in 1 particular skill to boost your team on that part,
OR
You have a player with 1 ultimate skill, but less outtrained other skills...

I think it will be still possible to train players to a superdivine level even after the changes but at the expense of other skills. You won't be able to train world class 4*17 mid but only 2*15+2*16 mid for example. If you trained one skill to lvl 18, you would have to take like 4-5 levels from other skills and that is just not worth at the moment. The current meta is to train balanced players
But if you had a bonus for reaching lvl 18 that would be noticeable in the game, users could focus their training on reaching superdivine level of some of their key players. And I think it would not have to take longer than it takes now to reach 18 level

+1 ^^ ... Not to say that extreme GK performances (see on NT match, penalties ... ) is clearly against any tactical effort for the rest of a team (a tactical performance can be crush by any spideman GK wining all 1vs1).
But thats another subject, and certainly match engine adjustments ...
-1 for the proposal (first post). About increasing max level, that's a non stop solution.
Ultimate Superdivine will need "Mega ultimate super divine" new level in future for a few players.
Adjusting the training progression to minimize the number of players reaching that level according to MAX ultime level is a better strategy.

I'd like that also. Good alternative.
But still I feel there's too little difference in performance between a divine and a superdivine player...
I'd like to see a change there. What's the point in training for superdivine skills if you can't tell the difference between divine and superdivine...
