Subject: [idea] What users really want
That would give the owner an extra happiness if the coach finally fits his needs, like when your magical junior has his skills perfectly placed :)
I think it should be no such a difference - its better to reduce old player skills less, like 20% (just example), but in some day he should declare retirement with the end of season.

It would be great, but currently to dangerous in case of game economy - you need to lose a lot of money to find/by good one, and as it is in discussion in other thread about economy - for now is the best way to withdraw money from sokker, and its still not enought to stop price inceasing. So rather will be hard to do it, if first we will not fix prices.
I even would say it should be corrected:) we need some retirement system, but combined with slower skill decrease, 30-31 its often the age when players reach their top level.
Not necessarily. It depends of pace, positioning, position on the field, number of past injuries, damaged joints in ankles, knees and hips, and more.
For example, when a fast wing back gets older and loosing pace, he could make up with experience on positioning, or be completely overrun by a young 24 year old fast wing mid or att.
Some are at the top at 28, others at 32, some keepers even older, and some even at 23 or 24 and never reach that level anymore in their whole career.

You could make experience and play maker more important at older age.
I agree.
I like the idea that experienced players can keep their skills at a higher level more longer. There are skills, for example pace and condition, that can go down faster. Also, it could be that the maximum (formidable) condition level drops for older players over time.

You are right too, but as Manus posted - it can work combined.
Like the idea to decrease more stamina/pace and maybe defense (physical skills) and decrease less other skills.
And because things are too much linear and predictable, maybe introduce an hidden age data where a player start to decrease... (eg. "28" the player start to decrease at 28y, 31 at 31 .... )
I also insist about the fact that predictability and linearity of skills progression (and decrease) is one thing that make the prices logically growing and growing for "youngs" players under 26y. When things becomes less linear and predictable, farmers, traders, trainers we'll had more headaches to raising and raising bet for players that could loose skills progression earlier. A good mix : less decrease, but (maybe) early and less predictable than now.
