You can't make good highlights if you don't work on the ME :P

Correct me if I am wrong, but highlights would only show stuff that is described in the written report. Those are the highlights, as far as ME is concerned. And those highlights don't offer a good match summary.

Just for the sake of having a functional site in 2021, making new 2D is a logical first move.
Putting too much effort into 3D after that would be a mistake in my opinion. I think that people who want to play a browser manager game are gonna be satisfied with 2D. 3D should be made one day, to refine the game, but only after all the issues are resolved.

Now, I am not saying that is must be 2D. It can be 3D with one good camera angle, just make is pleasant to watch.
Expanding the ONE viewer with various viewing options can wait. There is more important stuff.

One more important thing.

In order to make a camera in 3D similar to the one in 2D, it must not rotate.
Rotation distorts everything and makes the viewing experience bad tactics evaluation.
It can just move along the "throw-in" line.

Not to many problems at one moment please!;) but yes, you are right, that some of that highlights can be painfull.

@damien2a - i also watch in 3D. mainly because in my browser 2d is not working anymore, and i set camera as static for better tactic view.

to use one engine for both views (and it will be easier to develop then) - one as static one, with good tactic overwiew, and second more dynamic

One of scenarios (cheaper and less time consuming), thats why we need to understand difference for us.

Obviously, the 2d engine is essential for tactics and that kind of thing, but it is not necessary to modify the 2d at all, just improve the 3d.
So you would have the possibility to watch the game live in 3d where it was more exciting and the 2d to see and analyze tactics

Ofcourse there should be 3D with good side view and top view as '2D', that should be the main player. And for the oldies keep the 2D somewhere hidden far away from new users who don't need to see 2004 Sokker in 2020 !!

You seriously don't think in this time of good looking games you can sell 2D as inovative and 2020 up-to-date.

I enjoy the stadium camera in 3D, maybe with some extra zoom. The other angles are just weird and not practical.

Some views make me nauseous, that's not right. Try to make it look like real camera, and a game-view and top-view to analyse tactics. Something like that.

And 3D should also look fine ofcourse. Can't find the link (AGAIN) with much better looking 3D player, also a browser game.

It doesn't have to look like Fifa 20 (would be nice if it does ;)), but there is a lot possible to make it look more like that. Not sure if they have the recources to make it look very nice.
