Subject: [Idea] Merge of small countries/leagues

2020-09-09 14:50:52
2. The lack of competition for people in small countries (and therefore the interest)
3. The loss of experienced managers who get bored with the game from small countries

The 3rd point is a subset of the 2nd but these are big points.

Unfortunately, some people here consider it as a privilege that we are able to 'farm' money in the top league. If you think it's easy for us to 'farm' money, why don't you create a club in a small country and experience the 'enjoyment' in the game? There is absolutely zero competition in the league games 90% of the times where the result is predetermined even before the start of the match. You can enjoy playing against useless bots and win matches, you can enjoy losing against strong teams as well.

So where is the competition, which should keep people interested in this?

So I did some quick calculation, it's already been 1.5 seasons for me, there was just 1 game where I felt that the result can go either way (Federation Cup). I joined at the end of March 2020, and in these ~5 months, just 1 competitive game. I see myself facing zero competitive league matches this season and just 2 competitive matches in the league even after promotion next season in the biggest league here. And that will go for quite a long time since our top user is miles ahead of any 2nd placed team. I'll be spending almost a whole year in this game with a resounding 2 competitive league matches overall and where the competitive aspect should be the most important aspect for any game. No one loves winning every time and nor does anyone loves losing every time. The balance should be important which this game lacks although it's great on other aspects like NT, junior school, etc which has kept me going till now. Now some other people who are not interested in NT games, junior school, etc might leave the game without giving a week to it. And that's why DEVs should look at the competition aspect as well.

I know we've discussed this already but I'm reiterating so that others can understand some of these points as well.

Just boosting this as it is the easiest way to fix:

1. The sponsorship inequalities between small and large countries
2. The lack of competition for people in small countries (and therefore the interest)
3. The loss of experienced managers who get bored with the game from small countries
4. The loss of new managers who would have stuck around if there were some others from their country to help them, and an active forum community
5. The massive difference in strength between leagues within small countries

Yep. Most important is fun, without fun (almost) no one will keep around for more then a few weeks, or hours :/

The Dev's know how many times a new sign up returns. I know from when I was staff, the answer is almost no one. So also something should be done about that.

After 6 months of joining the game, I'm finally playing the first game against a real Indian user instead of bots #JustSaying

8 months? I can see 6 months and 1 week.

I didn't go for accurate calculation, but does it even matter? Isn't even 6 months bad enough?
Anyway, I have edited the previous post.

I hate to give you right, but a tutorial video would mean the world....

That is really wrong. Applause you kept on going!

And the solution is simple, put a number of countries together. When 1 country has enough managers to fill up 2 leagues, give that country it's own division with 3 leagues and all start in third league. Next season the best will promote to second division, and next season first division will be filled and fight for champion can start. Or add bottom league and all start in that league, so next season all will promote to thrid league, divided by end results.

Or a division with 2 leagues and 1 large bottom league where all will start and based on the end result the 2 leagues can be filled up, even numbers in one of the two league, odd numbers in the other league. A year later the remaining players will promote to second league as the best of second league will promote to first league and fight for champion.

+1

Some other games don't have country-specific leagues like Sokker. I'm not against country-specific leagues, but if there aren't enough users to play in the main league itself, then logically you need to combine countries with low users to give a better game playing experience to that person.

Abaolutely, and there are enough countries that can be put together. I hope this will be done with the new changes.

(Countries that can't be put with others of the complete region, I suggest you move as you live in a wrong place.)

I totally agree..

maybe a tutorial video should be sent to the new users through pm. this way it is more easier to watch and get the induction for the game..it is a potty that all these new users abandon the game..

It is also a fine idea to merge the lesser user countries in combined leagues because this way the game will get more interesting..who wants to play only with bots???

it could also be organized per continent like Europe 1, Europe 2...Asia 1, Asia 2 etc in order to have at least some country proximity. these leagues should also give teams in champions cup but the national teams should remain as they are in my opinion as well as the players that the teams generate (if the team for example is from Cyprus it may compete in a unified league but all their initial players and the academy players should be Cypriots).

100% agree, and it is the only way to keep users from small nations that come to join the game.

You can't join a game, and take over 6 months to play your first league game against another human user, whilst you also can't drop human users in to already established human leagues just because they aren't bots.

A merge is a must, and as you say, continue to keep your flag and your juniors, just your league is combined

If the deal is to merge "areas" for all, small or not small countries, im agree too. Its radical, simple, and much more manageable than any ideas of achmid to solve this problem :) Perfect deal !

I like that idea, and was in fact something I brought up very early in the league design phase.

It allows the best to play against the best, and you still have your own players and national cup.

This is more a thread to say the small countries NEED a merge. Whether this is just with other small countries or everyone, I'm happy either way

I had even developed a league structure which meant you started in your country, and as you promoted, you would promote then in to your region, then in to your half of the world and finally the whole world

Basically you became your nation's champion, then region champion then hemisphere champion then world champion.

someone must talk about this to the devs because I don't see them participate so much i this topic

They now have other priorities.
Also, it's not because they don't react, that they don't read...
