Subject: [Idea] Merge of small countries/leagues

The only ones you need to convince don't bother reading your posts...
Hang in there!

Sad but true

+1

In the end Sokker is still the same.

Not exactly..

It's sad to see, but O'zbekistan is officially dead. 0 users.

Something that could have been "fixed", or more likely prevented, so easily.

I mean, they were only just hanging on for so long, but there were some loyal users just hanging on, want some sort of hand to make it so the game had some point to playing.

It looks like 2 teams played for at least 2 years with just 3 managers playing, the last easy to find team appears to have signed up, played by himself for a couple of seasons, and left.

It's a sad future, but there is a chance that these 3 could still be playing if they had others to actually compete and banter with

that's what absentee management will do for you.

Proposal: dismantle the national championships and make one. With the same organisation of the leagues as now. From the youth teams of each team, for those who activate them, the youngsters of their own nationality come out, so that the national team system can be maintained. Each nation would continue to have its own elections for the national team coach.

I forgot... Instead of national cups, a single World Cup for clubs, which would work with the same system as the national cups do now.
2024-02-20 13:37:55
So: no more Champions Cup.
2024-02-21 03:53:34
so Poland can just dominate that with more teams than now?

or what am I missing.

So even users from countries where Sokker is struggling to take off would finally play Sokker. And it would be easier to attract and keep new players from those nations in the game.

I don't like the whole idea, but here you just need to do the math to see that either it won't work or lots of teams won't get included in the competition at all

there are ~7600 active teams at the moment, now how the cup round would look like

2 teams
4
8
16
32
64
128
256
512
1024
2048
4096

and that's the limit since there aren't enough teams for creating next round - so ~3500 users would be excluded from the Cup, I'm sure they would be thrilled

also, even with 4096 teams - these are 12 rounds so you couldn't even add more rounds because it's already lasting the whole season

that's the first problem

another is what happens when/if the game starts brining new users in thousands

at the moment Poland has 6 division levels = 183 leagues = places for 6226 teams

you would already have to add another level, which would be 324 leagues x 22 = 7128 teams
so you would basically have to double the whole current amount of teams in Poland AND the games played at same time so you would need better servers etc.

and that's just the beginning of problems

one of many would be time zones and the time of playing games
you can't play all of them at same time because the servers will die, so you need to make the games throughout the whole day like now
now it's based on timezones - so everyone plays roughly in their afternoon of local time

but with one multi league you can't base the hours on the time zones

as a result some people will play at their 6 in the morning, some at 16, some at 20 and some will have their games played at 3 in the night

in other words, for many people it will suddenly be impossible to watch the games live

not a bad idea, but nations or regions or continent should be preserved somehow.

I like the idea of having a mix of countries, at least could be done in cup scenario, not league scenario. Poland will rule but there will be transfer of ranking points to small countries team. Right now the system is too protective with big countries

an additional comment off topic but as we are talking about championships:
Everything happens in the first half of the sason, leaving the second half boring:

- National cup
- Champions Cup
- World Cup

It's boring for most people since almost the beginning of seasons because most people:

a. don't watch the World Cup - limited number of NT coaches
b. don't watch the Champions Cup - very limited number of teams
c. get eliminated from National Cup after 1-2 games

ohhhhh I see what you are saying now.

I knew I was missing something. It's a nice idea, but it would be next to impossible to implement. Too many teams, too many bot teams.

Maybe if you limited it to only the top 6 teams in every league?
