Pretty simple idea. start a subreddit :)

I think that reddit has more potential sokker users than any other platform. Sokker should already be present there. It can help sokker grow even without payed promotion.

Also, redefine the role of a promoter.

Remove all promoters and only have a couple. Find the right people, people who can make videos like, "goal of the week" or something. Give them plus and have them post stuff on social media.

Someone who sees it might get interested and come here.

A lack of a subreddit was noticeable when I started playing again, especially if you want to grow the English markets (US, UK, Canada, Australia).

Definitely would reach more eyeballs and I really think the 2d matches are so appealing that they sell themselves if people posted more on any social media platform.

I had to read it 3 times to realize you really wrote this :P I completely miss the appealing part of it. A very well looking 3D match viewer would be a lot more appealing.

A working 3D player too... :-s

Compared to other managers, both players are good. Sokker just needs to be present where there are potential users.

Sokker is not for someone who just likes football, it is more for someone who likes stats and strats. You'll find people like that on reddit.

I like the retro vibe of the 2d. Reminds me of an old video game from like Sega genesis or something... :p

Retro it is, 2003 retro ;)

Sega genesis football looked almost better, made in 1993. Many 90's games looked okay, eventhough playing it now would ruin the memory of those games. I did it with Dune2 years ago, what a great game it was ... was :P

I think focussing on retro, as in old stuff, which is way too old for most younger people in the world interested in games, would be a big fail. For me even to keep it is questionable.

Sokker matches should look like an older Football Manager version, like FM2013 or so (FM2021 would be better :P), with a few camera options. One camera should be topview, or whatever name, and give the same overview as 2D. Good for managers to analyse matches, like it is today so that option is not lost, but with a more modern look.

Anyway, Sega

If you do want to play the game, you can without download :P

You make some good points.

I do agree that for younger crowds 3d is the way to go. But just like the player pictures there is a modern way to go about it.

I feel the current 3d (which is still in beta so still hopefully will change) is not bad but the 2d is definitely complete and smooth now vs the 3d feels clunky and the ball in the air feels choppy, players look like they use some kind of generic unity asset vs something made from scratch.

I think what made the 2d unique in the 2000's needs to happen for the 3d in the 2020's for the real appeal to be there. I have played with Unity a bit and they definitely need to put some more time into assets and animations otherwise it will be like the old cartoony player pictures and be kind of a funny joke (intentional or not) :S

But back to the original point of the thread...we hopefully will have a subreddit in the future :)

Haha , I'm old school and love the 2d viewer

But maybe I'm just stuck in my ways , having been here 16 years lol

You can leave the maybe out ;-)

Back in 2006, when I joined, the biggest + on the matchviewer was... The presence of the matchviewer! It was unseen... a matchviewer on a football manager browsergame!
To top that, they need a 3D player with unreal engine 5 graphics... It's nearly impossible!
But I think it's more a priority to make the match engine stronger in stead of the graphics...
The 3D is nice, but the lag you have there, if it connects in the first place, is too big to enjoy the viewer.
I would love to see a player doing an actual dribble though!
So, my opinion... they need to improve the match engine so they can improve the matchviewer. not the other way around...

As for the on topic subreddit page... +1
