Subject: [IDEA] change names in progress bars
- 1
I don't like the names for skills, never did. And now that things are changing, maybe time to change it even more.
A bar from 1 to 100, that shows the number / percentage of skill.
A bar from 1 to 100, that shows the number / percentage of skill.
Would be very confusing, dont really see the Bar with % making anything better than how it is.
+1 for 5ky, I would hate this grading instead of current names. There is extra endorfins flow in your head when you see superdivine!:)
Having bars as an extra, I wouldn't mind, but as a replacement for the names...no way.
That is exactly what makes this game stand out.
But I would like the names to have a more clear view of where you are in a skill.
So in stead of 18, 100 should be cool to have, as being superdivine
This means a tragic skill = 0
hopeless = 1 - 5
unsatisfactory = 6 - 10
poor = 11 - 15
weak = 16 - 20
average = 21 - 25
adequate = 26 - 30
good = 31 - 35
solid = 36 - 40
very good = 41 - 45
excellent = 46 - 50
formidable = 51 - 55
outstanding = 56 - 60
incredible = 61 - 65
brilliant = 66 - 70
magical = 71 - 75
unearthly = 76 - 80
divine = 81 - 99
superdivine = 100
This will make the divine skill turning out to be more diverse, so 1 divine skill might be much better than another one + it would be extra hard to master it.
Though I feel superdivine skills should stand out more in this skilltree.

I really like to have quite the contrary : we don't know exactly where are player skills. Even, reducing level to a larger range. Like tragic to weak = 0/5 stars and magical-super divine: 5/5 stars.
That would kill the predictable level progression and predictable trading prices, and force managers to scout and really take care of performance in-game before buying. Off course, sokker would really become a soccer game, it might disgust too much sokker managers :-)

That is a good idea IF the match viewer is trustworthy to look at!
Now it's a big scam...flawed by the demonical ME
Now it's a big scam...flawed by the demonical ME
oh come on, it could be random as overall final result sometimes, but players and rating ?. I can see the difference between a poor skill player and great skill player, or team rating 50 vs 60, just in the M.E, not you ?
-1 to this. everyone hates the uncertainity of YS. If that would be the case with all the skills, the outrage would be 10x bigger.
Sometimes I see a player "heading" a ball in the goal. I saw it on NT level 4 times by the same player! Top level...
But he was only 165 cm AND always surrounded by 3 or 4 players who are bigger than him...178...186cm...
Then Tsolias told me it's only a representation of the match viewer, but the ME has calculated those goals as the small one being much faster and therefor first on the ball and actually scoring a goal with his feet.
So you see...all things you "see" in the match viewer are not always showing what really happens. Therefor you cannot trust the viewer and everything you see.

From what I remember BMI has never actually been implemented into the game, it's possible that the height doesn't really have any effect on the engine outside of how the players look, not sure about this one though.
Yes, representation of the match viewer AND I also think I said that the player had acceleration, because of his low height.
(Dtox, if I didn't said, sorry, it was my lazyness...)
Height is already implemented and players with less height accelerate faster.
(Rules: 4. The players : " shorter players will be quicker in speeding up from a standing start")
So, the player scored, because he can reach the ball faster than others and the match animation shows such goals as headers and...
...and I totally agree with your last sentence:
"the match viewer are not always showing what really happens. Therefor you cannot trust the viewer and everything you see. "

@ Borkos :
I read on the english version of the rules, on chapter 4 (players):
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weight
Player weight is visible in the 3d match viewer along with height, with taller players appearing taller and heavier players being bigger than lighter ones.
If a player is too light, they will speed up slower, as they have a lower muscle mass. In addition a player with a high weight will speed up slower, as they are too heavy. Heavy players will tire more quickly, compared to lighter players. The weight of a player will change depending on training, matches played and injury, although this has not been implemented yet.
Weight is calculated using Body Mass Index (BMI), which takes weight and height into consideration, where;
BMI = weight / (height*height)
The ideal BMI for a Sokker player is set to 23.75.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I read this, I get the impression, that it has already implemented, except the change of weight.
I get the impression, I am not sure...

sure.
maybe not "Heavy players will tire more quickly". In fact, what's really difficult to see is the fatigue during a match (stamina, weight ?..).
Anyway, even if the M.E was not update since years and not really perfect, i think its good enough to reflect the difference of skills.

Compared to other things this is very very minor so not really worth discussion or maybe because it is so minor it's actually easy to do & quick fix so might aswell be
Only 1 or 2 i've ever really had issues with are the 1 that does not exist in real life
no such thing as magic but the word is used a lot in football so i let that one slide
Divine however is a god like word and as far as I'm concerened neither exist, but in real life footballers [never had much brains, never will] believe in one of the 1800 different gods humans have made up , yes 1800 !
Unearthly is not a word ever used in football

bmi 23.75 is what you should be if your about 6 foot if your 5 foot 6 then about 22.25 bmi would be about right, if your 6 foot 6 - 25.25 bmi
If i am correct bmi was actually implemented into the game? so if your players are outside those mark above it should affect them more with injuries and stamina [therefore loss of pace near end of games?]

Don't look at the rules...they introduced it as a new thing, they wrote it into rules, but as far as I know it's not actually working in the match engine, it's just a faced...BMI 100%, not sure about height but I'm 80% sure it doesn't affect the match engine as well...
