Subject: Auto-Bidding System in Sokker

2025-09-26 00:29:51
The question is about what goals you have set for yourself and over what period of time you want to achieve them - developing a team is a difficult task. The most important aspect are the coaches in this game, and they are an expensive pleasure.
To say that you sell them to allow them to develop better for under-21 is :))) young players are easier to train for the simple reason that they are trained on fewer skills (the so-called basics).

Agree! I saw A-B system (with integrated TC) in another manager and this bot-like manager type of game I don't like at all!

If I had made even 3 million over the 5+ seasons, I'd have kept it going.

I sold only few without training. It is probably difficult to train 16y players and play M-league. If I sold my first players without training I would earn 1-2M, maybe...

To bring back to the subject :

Sktables.org may offer an automatic bidding tool. Currently not publish and in design phase. Nothing really tricky : a user had to set its own maximum price for a specific player, then automatic bidding happen as long as the user is still active on the interface and maximum price has not been reached.

From what I ve heard, there have been discussions among administrators about whether or not to prohibit auto-bidding (whether or not this applies to sktables).
Currently, no administrator or developer has been able to provide me with a clear answer regarding to limits or authorization of such tools. Except a troll.
Unfortunately, that's just the way it is, like other things nothing gets done and nothing gets decided.

To make money you have to train for 16-17 years. I have trained such players even in the major league and I will train such players even this season. I reached a quality team for about 8-10 seasons. But with us the community is small and close-knit and I received a lot of advice from other users, which helped a lot for my development.

If we look how they implement other stuff, maybe is better it stays as it is! ;)

Regarding the topic, the probability of buying a quality player at a final blind bidding is almost impossible. It can be done if it is at least double the real selling price

Probably you don't have problem relegating all the time.
It would be financially devastating for me to relegate only once in last 4 seasons as I train players for U21 National team mostly with good coaches (16 and 4x15).
After I sold recently for 20M three players I bought for 23K, I don't care much about relegation, but try to avoid it anyway!

It can save you money, as you don't buy any player! ;)

8/10 players are from my school. Only 1 was not in the U21 because he was withdrawn at the end of his 20s, but he has a talent of 3.2. 5 of them were in the U21 at the age of 20. One of them is in the top 3 midfielders of all time in the game in the statistics of our players.
Someone said schools are not worth it - Youth sales:
39,761,061 BGN
average 1,136,030 BGN (35 transactions)
and this is sales up to 8 seasons ago because I haven't sold a promising youth since then
As far as coaches, the one I use is 7x16 + 14, the second is 7x16 + 11, assistants 3 magic

Autobidding would ruin this game for good... if it is implemented you will have the powerfull teams setting overprice bidding just in order to buy the player, bye bye to small and new teams.

it was me, and it's not been. It's been an absolute money sink I cannot afford.

There is always the possibility to bod a high price from the start. Auto bidding eventually does the same but with tons of in between Steps so the max price might not be reached.
It's imo only good if the range between your initial bod and finale bid is no more then 10%

Why bidding just in order to buy a player ? For the fun ? Untrained players have no value, training slots are limited and high taxes have restricted high-frequency trading.
If clubs want to buy “cheap" players for nothing and above their price when no one else is bidding, they don't need auto-bidding, they can already do it, in just a few clicks.

Whether auto-bidding in game is really a useful feature or not, I don't really know. For me, it won't change much in terms of the underlying problems with the game anyway.
But, I would be very curious to know how auto-bidding could be a problem or cheating, as I haven't heard a single convincing argument and since the discussions (between admins) seems secret...

1. kicks the small/poor/new teams out of the market (with auto-bid it's much less possible to get a bargain due to being lucky with not many people online) - auto bid will drive prices up and only 2 team with auto-bid set will be needed to drive price close to max very early. as a result small teams will have to aim for worse players because there will be much less bargains for better players.

2. diminished activity, now people often log in to buy a player and stay for xx minutes for the bidding wars (especially weekend afternoons), it won't be needed with auto-bid.

3. massive traders would be in heaven with this system - now they have to follow every auction live, they lose lots of hours on doing that, bidding hundreds of players to get that one who will go under his value. I don't think it would be good for the game just to let them make 100 autobids for the weekend and wait if they get someone for low value in order to sell later on with a fixed higher price.

Yeah, those points should be obvious for anyone. It's not really about "cheating" but about maintaining a game that's fair. With a no-limits autobid environment a bargain will never be found again, as the ones in the know will make sure that never happens. No fun in that at all.

And what's next, then? Auto-detect interesting players? Auto-set auto-bids for the auto-detected players? Auto-match setup in case we forget? Do we even need to be here anymore?

I guess I could live with a Sokker built-in 1-at-a-time autobid for everyone though, as that would help some people with justified needs for just that one player out of their time zone or whatever. But I'd rather be without it altogether.
