Subject: Auto-Bidding System in Sokker
Yeah, those points should be obvious for anyone. It's not really about "cheating" but about maintaining a game that's fair. With a no-limits autobid environment a bargain will never be found again, as the ones in the know will make sure that never happens. No fun in that at all.
And what's next, then? Auto-detect interesting players? Auto-set auto-bids for the auto-detected players? Auto-match setup in case we forget? Do we even need to be here anymore?
I guess I could live with a Sokker built-in 1-at-a-time autobid for everyone though, as that would help some people with justified needs for just that one player out of their time zone or whatever. But I'd rather be without it altogether.

Yup, 1 active auto-bid would be a good thing, not more though
btw. I would change the extra 2-minute after bid to 30sec-45sec so that bidding wars are faster and more dynamic

1. Whether you're a team with deep pockets or not, everyone benefits bargains when there are so few bids with not many people online, except sellers of course. But in the end, the richer one is again in good position to catch the bargain.
2. Sure, that's the idea. Do users need to be permanently connected to the market to enjoy bid wars ? I bet that's not the case for most players.
3. Who are the big traders? If some people want to place 100 bids and end up with a bunch of players who are impossible to train or resell without a loss, let them try! I mainly see "big traders" who make perfect use of their 10 training slots, and those aren't “small/poor.new” teams but experimented farmers with millions in cash in the bank.
You're an experienced player, I won't insult you by explaining how it works you know it better than me !
But sorry, what hypocrisy.

no, everyone is able to catch bargains in same way, different teams just concentrate on different players
and rich teams won't be affected with prices going up as much because they will still be able to buy the players because they can afford them, small/poor teams can only buy good players with bargains
this would end with good teams getting good players and small teams getting only bad players (because they wouldn't be able to be lucky as they can be now)

you can easily automate almost everything (transfers, lineup setting, training setting etc.) and make the users log in once a month, do you think that will be good for the game or will it kill the game?

you have no idea what you're talking about, there are teams with 50+ players who buy cheap players under their normal value, keep them for couple of weeks and then sell them with profit from much higher set price to users who don't know the real/average worth of players
those are massive traders and with auto bid they would be able to make an auto-bid once for EVERY players on the market for 2 days and then just collect those that went for lower price, easy money without any problems

I have no idea what this has to do with me
I buy players and usually train them for 2-3 seasons, don't see what's hypocritical about it but ok

Who suggested that automatic things should replace manual things?
Who fear automatic things when you are able to do it much better or in control by yourself ?
Who fear automatic things when you are able to do it much better or in control by yourself ?
no, everyone is able to catch bargains in same way, different teams just concentrate on different players
Let's say it's easier if your minimum bid could be few millions to discourage the “little ones” from trying to outbid a player that is worth much more millions. You are right, diffferent teams just concentrate on different players, there are bargains and bargains.
you can easily automate almost everything
Or you can do it by yourself, in other words : just having fun playing a game. If users can't log once a month, automate almost everything can help to maintain bots or human-bot, and better than now. But that's off topic, auto-bid is no about "automating everything".

I ve maybe no idea, sorry, but Im curious to know... with 10 slots limits, paying 50+ players wages, playing games with 50+ and higher taxes on short time plus value, who are those great traders ?
Ultimately, is it an "auto-bid feature" problem or already problem to solve at its base ?

Automatic bidding might help users like me, who don't have the free time to spend hours trying to buy a player for a specific position they need. But I am the kind of person who prefers to build their team themselves, mainly from their own youth players :) so I would prefer more training slots.
And as for the so-called 'traders' – the millions they collect… one thing games have taught me – you don't gain respect from that. We are here to have fun, and it is also about socializing :) Who would enjoy interacting with such people???

Im agree, for me it's the main point in favor of auto-bid.
You will find users that are not agree, and just for the exact same reason.
I also completely agree with all the rest. But that's another story...

Anything that keeps the player online is good for the game.

A few years ago, I programmed a robot to bid for “bargains” on sokker because I don't have time to play sokker anymore.
Buy. Train. Resell. Make profit. Do it again!
I've never made so much profit.
Your own words. You've "never made so much profit" as you did with the autobid feature. So you've kinda answered your own questions.

Because money literally isn't an object to about 10-15% of really active buyers in the game.
Teams like yours don't need to scrimp pennies because you've not only been a successful trader for 15 years, but all this time you've been spoon fed an economic system that was far more loose for you than it was the teams that came in 2 years ago or less when all of these economic changes were made.
You literally sound like a 1% looking out only for yourself. You're just crying because you can't just wipe your tears away with 100 euro sokker bills and get any player you want because it requires time, something every manager can choose to have.

It was more relate to a period of "just farming" than autobid by itself.
But yes, autobid help me this time, that's pretty much what you'd expect from a tool.
Spending time seeking for bargains at the market has never been fun for me. Some users just have fun with this.
They didn't wait any tools to be successful.

A successful trader for 15 years ? But Its quite the contrary :-)
I've always had more fun playing and challenging with my team, losing money and team value. So no, I’m pretty not very rich for an old team :-) It would be interesting to know how much money teams really have in bank, just to compare, right ?
Otherwise im agree with you. But it’s off topic. Autobid or not that will not change anything.

My point is that it can be deduced that traders who are successful today will be even more successful with autobid - but with less effort. Whether or not the consequences of such a scenario pose a problem for the game as a whole is what concerns me.
We seem to have different opinions, but I do agree with you that devs should clarify their position on the matter.

We are limited by 10 training slots, high taxes for short term profit, and off course money. Do you really think that successful traders will trades much more than possible with autobid ?
Successful traders know prices, how to plan training and the good timing to resell. Do you think that autobid can increase their knowledges ? it’s not a Magic tool.

as I've said, there are people who make lots of transfers and make profit on players that are not even trained in advanced. there are players that get only general training and then are sold for x4 the original price, for example Cezary Charciarek [39889978]. even old players are often sold with a big profit and they don't need any training. I know that because I bought old cheap DEF/MID, used them for 1-3 seasons (so they gold much older) and then I still made a profit on them (or at least broke even after x seasons of using an old player) by selling them with a starting price.
if you let them make autobids on every possible player then it will be much easier for everyone to become a mass trader. a simple low level bid for every valuable player on the market for next 2 days, after 2 days you check how many you bought and make new auto bids and so on.
the mass trading was a bigger problem and it was at least limited by new higher taxes aimed at profit. still there's no point in making lifes of mass traders easier by giving them an autobid.
one active auto-bid sounds like a ok idea, to buy players you want sold in different time-zone. many or unlimited auto-bids is a very bad idea.
