Subject: Auto-Bidding System in Sokker

2025-09-28 13:40:07
I ve maybe no idea, sorry, but Im curious to know... with 10 slots limits, paying 50+ players wages, playing games with 50+ and higher taxes on short time plus value, who are those great traders ?

Ultimately, is it an "auto-bid feature" problem or already problem to solve at its base ?

as I've said, there are people who make lots of transfers and make profit on players that are not even trained in advanced. there are players that get only general training and then are sold for x4 the original price, for example Cezary Charciarek [39889978]. even old players are often sold with a big profit and they don't need any training. I know that because I bought old cheap DEF/MID, used them for 1-3 seasons (so they gold much older) and then I still made a profit on them (or at least broke even after x seasons of using an old player) by selling them with a starting price.

if you let them make autobids on every possible player then it will be much easier for everyone to become a mass trader. a simple low level bid for every valuable player on the market for next 2 days, after 2 days you check how many you bought and make new auto bids and so on.

the mass trading was a bigger problem and it was at least limited by new higher taxes aimed at profit. still there's no point in making lifes of mass traders easier by giving them an autobid.

one active auto-bid sounds like a ok idea, to buy players you want sold in different time-zone. many or unlimited auto-bids is a very bad idea.

Do you not think auto bidding would make it harder for them to find bargain players?

High taxes, wages, true profit in transaction is questionable.

Autobid can help to buy much players, I won’t help to resell all of them with much profit.
Once again, if massive trading is really profitable, is it an autobid problem, or already a problem?

We are limited by 10 training slots, high taxes for short term profit, and off course money. Do you really think that successful traders will trades much more than possible with autobid ?

No. We're not limited by 10 training slots. And the profit can still outweigh the taxes. One of the few things holding traders back a little is the time and effort that has to be put into it. And you are advocating a tool, that - which you admit yourself - greatly reduces the factor of time/effort.

It's frankly a bit astonishing that you alone seem to keep insisting that the tool will not change trading even in the slightest? Maybe it's a bit like that episode of Big Bang Theory where the guys invent a quantum gyroscope and are surprised that the military shows interest ;o)

If you limit it to 1-2 autobids at a time, i think its a great idea, the market is not so stable, which can hurt small teams not getting so much for average players, and it would help semi active players get some help bidding.... You of all Momo must know how hard it for example was for kongbuur to play the game, cause he never had time for trading.... Not to speak of the most solved case of time zones problems

:o) Yeah, as I said earlier I can live with a 1-active-autobid solution, which would be fine. But that's it. We should encourage online activity, not diminish it, as being present in the game leads to more immersion for all involved.

If people feel they don't have enough time to play the game, they should just adapt themselves and their way of playing to the circumstances if they're still interested in being here and keeping the team alive. I'm sure we all do that in our own ways. kongbuur didn't quit because of lack of time, but because he slowly lost interest and motivation, which is perfectly alright to admit.

Should we remove trading db for all because it’s help those traders too ?
Should we increase taxes again for all because of those traders too ?
If autobid should help massive traders should we exclude a tool for all ?

If mass trading profit is really the « point » so we can limit the number of simultaneous trades, limit the number of trades a week or a day, or…. We don’t need to wait an autobid for that.

You seem to deliberately ignore the points that are being made, so I won't repeat them. But I would like you to answer this question: do you think 1 active autobid at a time would be sufficient? If no, then why?

Do you not think auto bidding would make it harder for them to find bargain players?

not really, because the biggest bargains are usually players missed by most players, you have to keep track of them / be online at end of bidding to make sure you get him and not get overbid once by a random user

Honestly not, I didn’t catch those missing points not answered.
I may suppose more active autobid is more helpful. But again, I may suppose we are back to ignoring points.

In fact, just for technical reason (less ressources) i plan only 1 active if I can publish (sktables). Not to say I will prefer official built-in tool in sokker.
So yes, 1 active autobid its better than nothing, if we can be agree on that point ;-)

Are we really debating this issue? Is youth school no longer a priority?

Yes, really. Pointless debates serve to breathe life into a lifeless game. Priorities goes to the devs.

We also have topics to organize useless speech’s.
Youth school is here :
