World Cup - 1/4 Finals: Hellas - România
What we did till now was great, in this World Cup and in the International Ranking... but now we've the opportunity to do something "epic". Today we'll play against the strongest NT in Sokker, trying to reach the first semifinals of hellenic history.
I feel your emotional involvement around this tournament and I'll do my best to win this game, "impossible is nothing"... I hope to offer you another exciting match, this team can!

Αυτό που κάνατε μέχρι τώρα ήταν μεγάλη, σε αυτό το Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο και στη διεθνή κατάταξη ... αλλά τώρα έχουμε την ευκαιρία να κάνουμε κάτι "έπος". Σήμερα θα παίξει εναντίον του ισχυρότερου ΝΤ στην Sokker, προσπαθώντας να φθάσουν στον πρώτο ημιτελικό της ελληνικής ιστορίας.

I really wanted a different final, probably with other opponent we could reach the semifinals easier... but that's it... I'm satisfied about the job done, and I hope you had fun following this team.
Now, let's look ahead. We'll try to do a good EuroCup U27 in the next weeks... I think we've an interesting group of players to work with.
Another task is to maintain our ranking higher than 16th, it will be important for the next WC Qualification Group draw.

Great performance in World Cup, in the preparation of the team and for your attitude as a manager in general. I feel that you currently master lot of tactics and you did a quality job.
My only 2 questions in the game vs Romania are about Psarris not being in the starting eleven after his flawless performance in the game vs Spain and Topoliatis-Papousis both being lost in AML/AMR in the start. Super solid game of Athanasopoulos (again) and from our GK, Poursanidis.

Usually our (mine and of my assistant gegio) consideration is first tactical and then of players to be used for. We wanted to counterattack Romania playing the ball from defensive line to the sides... so the decision to use 2 defensive midfielders (Giannopoylos and Koyloyris) and 2 wings.
But we decided to use one of these wings with ATT order, this both to prevent a red card on Saleas and also for the tactical change to 2 strikers in the second half.
So the wing with ATT order was Papoutsis, he started as wing but in the last lines he had a striker position... and the real wing with MID order was Topoliatis instead of Psarris due to a better condition of form. Anyway Psarris come in as wing in the second half exactly as in the match vs Spain.
Probably today, after match result, I would make other tactical choiches for the 1st half tactic... I agree, but before I did the best one in my mind.

Thank you all... as I said in other situation, your community is fantastic... passionate and competent but friendly, hospitable and grateful at sametime. I've a lot of italian friends with experience as coach in different countries... somebody won WC too... but nobody feel good as me with Hellas, I was very lucky. I think a good environment like your community is the best assumption for a good job.

The actual WorldCup classification... we're 5th, the best after semifinalists.
